I found this place on yelp and ordered the steak hibachi for takeout. The portion sizes were great, they gave me soup and salad in addition to the food. I had also ordered a side of udon noodles which were bland. Overall the portion sizes were really good but the taste just wasn't there. There were also pieces of chicken and shrimp with my hibachi which was odd because I only ordered the steak hibachi. The owner also advised me not to order online again? I think they have to pay fees for online orders or something so I said I wouldn't do it again lol read more

A tasty Asian food spot! While visiting a friend in Nashville, we were recommended Chikuyo Tei for dinner! We had the crazy roll, spicy tuna roll, steak hibachi, edamame, and miso soup. Everything was average but tasty! The spicy rolls had just a little hint of spice, and the steak was a bit chewy. They did unfortunately forget the fried rice that comes with the hibachi so that was a bit of a letdown. The worker that helped us pick up or to go order was very friendly! The restaraunt was clean. This place is a hidden gem. SUSHI WAS AMAZING. We arrived on a Friday evening. It was a quiet and relaxed environment perfect for enjoying our meal after a looooong week of work. I didn't expect this place to have sushi and have been to two others around the area in search of finding a great neighborhood sushi spot; the others were let downs, so search continued, and this place was on the list. This is a hidden gem of Hermitage! The crab rangoon is one of my favorite. They are crispy savory-sweet delicious treats! My GF and I go-to is the Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi it serves 2-3 people. It's full of chicken and veggies and a few shrimp. The house salad dressings are the bomb! We had to order extra because it's so good! Highly recommend ordering extra ginger salad dressing to go. We had visited your restaurant last Friday evening, a party of four, to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were turned away because of the change in the $32.99 all you can eat menu, which was not advertised- switching from every day to just weekdays. We returned Monday, to celebrate my husband's birthday around 5:40 PM. We did not receive our meals until after 7:50 PM. We waited almost 2 hours. The waitress was very stressed out at the sushi chef and kept checking on our order multiple times. We had our small infant with us and had to keep passing him around to keep him entertained while we waited for our food. Every other patron of the restaurant that entered after us, received their food, ate, paid, and left before we even received our meals. It was absolutely horrible customer service. We tried to cancel our order and leave so we could go eat fast food we were so hungry and irritated from waiting. We were so hungry, but the sushi chef stated that he had already begun our meal at that time we asked to cancel so we could leave and it will be ready in five minutes. It still was not ready in five minutes, and he again took two orders from different patrons ahead of us. It was a terrible experience, a disappointing birthday dinner, and honestly makes us feel we should not return and let others know of the horrible service we received. read more

We went in for lunch on a weekday. We were greeted but the hostess wasn't very friendly. Everyone can have an off day, right? We were seated at a booth because there are no tables. Fortunately, the food overrides the lack of friendliness and service. The server never came to check on us and we waited quite awhile before we saw her to ask for our check. Wow this place is something special. I ordered takeout and was blown away by the quality of the food. I'm a huge soup person (weird, I know) and had never heard of kari soup before, so I had to try it. My only complaint? It was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. It was a ton of soup and I would have loved to save some for lunch the next day, but I literally couldn't stop eating it. Not to mention that shrimp were perfect - plenty of restaurants around Nashville use mediocre shrimp and/or cook them poorly. But this place has quality ingredients AND cooks the shrimp perfectly. My fiancé got the hibachi and, once again, the only complaint is that it's so good he couldn't stop eating it, so no leftovers for him! I stole some of the veggies and rice from his hibachi and it was probably the best hibachi I've had around Nashville. Our water glasses were left empty until we had to flag down our waitress. So, service wasn't so great that evening But the food made up for it. The miso soup and salad were good. I'm surprised by the multiple 5 star reviews. This is not really a 5 star sort of place...I've gotten take out here multiple times because I like Asian food, and it's near my house. The problem is, no matter what I get, the food is always....meh. (Keeping in mind I usually order non sushi items.) The crab Rangoon is pretty good, but other items, such as the pad thai and Singapore noodles, have been pretty darn terrible. We found this place thanks to Yelp! We had a spicy chicken noodle soup (can't remember the name) but it was #AMAZING. We don't like spicy food usually, but this soup just has the perfect amount of hot on it. The more we ate it the more we liked it. We also had the crab rangoons, which were crispy and with the right amount of cheese inside. Delicious. Finally we had the Rock Lobster Roll, which was good sushi. We were already too full to really enjoy it, but it had very good flavor. Service was excellent. The lady that served us was patient and nice. Ambience is Japaneseque, including music and decoration. This is my favorite Friday night sushi place in Mount Juliet. My husband and I love to come here. The first thing we noticed was the quirky game show theme type asian music. We find ourselves bopping our heads and little and smiling. What I enjoy about this sushi place is that they have expensive sushi rolls and lots of options for inexpensive sushi rolls. Lots to choose from. Their prices are reasonable. Are you in the mood for beer? This is your place. You will love their gigantic beer mugs. I think they are bigger than Cinco's. They are reasonably priced two at 4.25 I think. They have huge booths along The wall for large parties to sit together. They also have lots of booth options for 2 to 4 people. I love a comfy booth option for date night. The raw tuna appetizer is a little pricey in my opinion for the amount of food you get. Edamame is always tasty and a good starter. Over-all impression is that this is an OK option for the Hermitage area. The place is new, has good cleanliness rating and reasonable food quality and service. For all those reasons they have earned 4 stars... however, I personally did not LOVE it, and so deduct one star for it not being outstanding and exceptional. The spring roll had a mushy quality to the wrapper on the inside, like not quite cooked enough. The spicy tuna roll was chopped up like tuna salad (customary for 'some' sushi chefs, other's use whole pieces with spicy sauce on top.) The stir-fry beef "teriyaki." The meat was boiled, rather than truly hot wok fried (not saying they put the meat in a pot of water, but rather the wok was not hot enough to cook off the natural juices and water.). It was not seared and yummy. Again, just matters of personal taste. We will go back and try again, in case some issues were just due to an off day. read more

Both fried appetizers had the texture of having been previously frozen or cooked earlier then microwaved. Doughy, soggy vegetables and gummy shrimp. Dough on softshell crab was so bready and crunchy, yet the crab was watery and flavorless. The one redeeming thing was the decent rainbow roll. While small, it was fresh and flavorful. If you do eat here, maybe stick to the sushi rolls or something other than fried anything! I guess the fact that only two tables were occupied on a Wednesday night at 7:15 were a sign. Smiley Thai and Sushi Thai are WAY better and way busier for a reason. Take heed. read more

We visited for lunch of Friday to take advantage of the lunch specials. I ordered the 5 pc nigiri with California roll for $10.99 which is about the going rate for such. It didn't disappoint. It came with a salad that was good although the dressing was a bit runny. The wife ordered a plentiful $8.99 chicken teriyaki bento box.
