I've been here both pre- and post- renovation and I loved it before, I love it after. Not to mention, they now offer beer and wine, and are a generous pour with a nice though small selection. The panang curry is my favorite, and the drunken noodles and Singapore noodles are not far behind. It's easy to find both vegetarian and gluten free options, so it's great for groups with dietary restrictions. Just in general, they seem to actually nail it with the vegetables. Everything tastes fresh, and they adjust the pairing of the vegetables to the specific curries as opposed to there being a "frozen mixed vegetable" vibe which I get with most other places. The service is always fantastic. All the employees are genuinely friendly. On one occasion a friend of mine wanted to pick up food from here when she was sick with a cold over the winter, and the wait staff literally looked at her, asked how she was feeling, and then gave her a specific recommendation for a dish they enjoy eating when they don't feel well (!!) We moved to the Danbury area from Queens, NY where Jackson Heights is the center of the Thai community and has Michelin rated restaurants that we frequented. While not up to Michelin Star standards, I can honestly report that after having eaten here 5 times and tasted many different dishes, that Thai Pepper serves delicious food worthy of any local Queens neighborhood restaurant. Golden bags with vinegar sauce were incredibly light, crunchy and succulent. Volcano chicken and fried rice excellent. I would have preferred more spice, and will ask for that next time. Honestly can't recommend Thai Pepper enough. We've been coming here ever since they opened and the owners are the absolute nicest people. It's gotten to the point where the wife knows how long since we've last been there in order to coerce us into coming by more often, it's pretty humorous. Every dish we've tried here has been delicious and authentic. Whether you're feeling your noodle fix with Drunken Noodles, or you want some type of curry, Thai Pepper does it all, and they do it fantastically. The shrimp Tom Yum soup here is killer also, so you should get that along with the rest of your meal. They used to be a small restaurant, maybe seating 15-20 tops, but they ended up buying some space next door and now the place seats around 50 people using both areas. This is huge for Thai Pepper, especially since it's creating more noise after being around for around a year or so. Great Thai food, this is my 3rd time eating here. Their Volcano shrimp is excellent, it's literally the best fried shrimp in Danbury. And if you get it to go they have a special way of packaging it to ensure the steam doesnt make the shrimp soggy and they stay crispy. Tonight we had roti, volcano shrimp, hot basil stir fry with chicken & shrimp extra spicy and crab fried shrimp. Everything was delicious and most of the seats were taken by the time we left. I can't recommend this place enough. The service was so friendly and attentive and their food was delicious. For appetizer, my group tried the roti, shrimp shumai and vegetable curry puffs. Of the three, the roti was my favorite because of the sauce but I really enjoyed the other two as well. Nothing was greasy or oily either. My entree was the massaman curry with chicken - my only complaint was that the curry was more on the watery side that I would prefer but it was still tasty. My favorite part were actually the potatoes and peanuts. I also tried my girlfriend's crab fried rice and loved it too. read more

This was our 2nd time coming here and we had super high expectations based on our 1st visit. Unfortunately, we were disappointed:( They've recently expanded and I think they were having trouble keeping up. We were seated fairly promptly and our appetizer and dinner came out in a timely fashion but the curry sauce served with the Roti was very cold, like it came out of the refrigerator.....when mentioned to the waitress she quickly and apologetically microwaved it for us. My husband has ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and although not terrible it lacked flavor. We probably won't revisit this spot which makes us quite sad!! read more

This place is small, just a few tables. But, it was very clean! I actually overheard a conversation that they might be extending so fingers crossed for that! The food was very delicious. We had the beef yellow curry and the volcano shrimp. Both were amazing. Volcano shrimp tasted a lot better than I even expected. We also ordered Thai tea. With only four or five small tables, it is not really a dine in restaurant but they certainly charge dine in prices. I had the Tom Yum soup and the curry tofu with jasmine rice. $19 for takeout is a little bit steep. I like things very spicy and the nice woman behind the counter was going to give me some really hot spicy sauce on the side however, when I got home I realized she forgot to put it in the bag. On the plus side, the food came out quick and it was very, very tasty. There was a nice level of heat as well, probably what the average pallet would consider very hot. I will probably go back again but it will not be a "regular" place for me unless the prices come down. read more
