More of a 3.5 rating.....Craving Thai food and used Yelp to help us find Thai Delight. We ordered takeout with a few dishes to sample the menu a little more. Ordering by phone was easy and I was told it would be 25 minutes which it was. By the time we got there, we overheard them telling call in orders it would be an hour wait so they were busy and I suggest calling orders in early! As others have mentioned the restaurant is in a unique, slightly odd location but worth the stop. I would say we enjoyed 4 out of the 5 dishes we got so that is pretty good! The only miss was the sweet chili wings and from the photos you can tell they were dry and over fried. The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle were good- I enjoyed the beef in the drunken noodle more than the pork in the Pad Thai which was slightly drier. Next time, I would opt for just beef in either of the noodle dishes. The drunken noodle was certainly spicy as they state and had great flavor. The Pad Thai was also good and had a good mix of authentic ingredients. The Hot Basil Beef entree was done well with a nice assortment of vegetables and a side of white rice (not shown in photos). It got my husband's seal of approval and he ate it all up! He enjoys spicy food and found the heat level to be just right. Often, he will complain spicy dishes are not spicy enough but he did not complain this time with the hot basil entree. Overall, a solid choice for takeout Thai food in the local area. We would definitely go back to sample more of the menu and repeat getting some of the entrees we ordered this evening again another time.

Got take out- Large soup was short by several ladles! I was yummy, though. Just pointless to get the large one if they aren't gonna give you the full amount.

Thai fish cakes. Delicious and spongy like they should be!

One of the best restaurants in Newtown!! If you love Thai food you must check this place out. I've never had a bad meal here and I've eaten here a handful of times. The staff is super friendly always checking up on you which is always nice. I love getting the drunken noodles and Curry's here because they always have a great amount of heat to them. Restaurant is cute and cozy inside with a lot of customers calling in orders rather than dining in. I wish they would move closer to Main Street area in town so more people would know about them! You have to go, you will not regret it!!

Delicious food, although "mild" sometimes is lacking flavor. Love the convenience to the highway and Bethel/Newtown

We drove a long distance here and arrived at 8:45, only to then be told we couldn't be seated because the kitchen was already closed. We pointed out the person who answered the phone said the kitchen closed at 9:15. The person who answered said she misunderstood and thought we were asking about take out. However, when we then asked if we could take out (at 8:45), we were again told it was impossible since the kitchen was already closed. So how does the explanation that she thought we meant take out even make sense? Of course, we had wasted a lot of time driving there and were then stuck scrambling for other nearby options at that hour. This alone would be a reason for never coming back.

When stopping in for pickup, the smaller sized dining room was nearly full...and for good reason. We ordered crab rangoon, papaya salad, larb, beef pad see u, and chicken pad thai. The portions were generous and we'll have food for another meal. The pad thai and pad see u were both very tasty and noodles were cooked perfectly. The crab rangoon was unlike any I've ever had because there was real crab meat in it, not the imitation "krab" like at many other asian restaurants. The papaya salad and larb were clearly fresh, but just lacked a little something. At other Thai restaurants they seemed to be a little more flavorful. Perhaps a little more dressing next time. If that is their standard preparation, then next time I'd request a little more or try something else. It won't stop me from coming back and trying it again. Strongly recommend.

It's not too often I get to go back and revisit my reviews, but yesterday I think I've had enough…read morechange in opinion about ThaiBowL (still can't get over that capital L) that I think an update is an order. This was originally review 148 (149 if you want to count the one review I had that had been deleted) out of all the reviews I've done. Before I get into what changed, I will point to the one thing I stand most by: the Crab Rangoon. This time I had it served to me on a plate, with a separate section for the plum sauce, and this time I had a small pile of shredded carrot and a leaf or two of greens. My opinion about the Crab Rangoon remains the same, which is to say they're outstanding. The plum sauce I've come to learn is the sweetest part of the dish and was a big reason as to how the dish ended up being so sweet. The filling to breading ratio is top-notch, the breading is crispy without feeling like I'm eating mushy bread, and the flavor of the filling is divine. So into what changed. You might have gotten the hint when I talked about the plating of the Crab Rangoon, but I dined in this time, and honestly, it's much better to eat this in the restaurant than to just go to the take-out window. If you have time and are in Watertown, I would definitely recommend parking your car and coming in. It's a cozy interior that's very casual. It's not quite at the level of fine dining, but it is still an intimate place to eat, maybe even romantic. It's very well-decorated, and the employees here are very friendly. Would I say they treat you like family? Ehhhhh..... I don't know about that one, but maybe the next step down it's a little clearer. As for what else I had this time around, please give a warm welcome to the Thai Iced Coffee, the Red Duck Curry with white rice, and the Fried Ice Cream! The Red Curry is spicy, but not unbearably so. The Iced Coffee actually pairs perfectly with this to cool down the heat (I actually had to order 2 of those coffees believe it or not). The duck was crispy and tender at the same time and the vegetables in the curry were for the most part great. My only knock on the dish would be the eggplant. That did come out mushy, but luckily there were only like 2 slices of it, so it wasn't a big deal. You can use the spoon they provide to ladle some of that sauce onto the rice, which actually gives the rice more flavor. As for the Iced Coffee, it was a great coffee and I would definitely have this iced coffee any time I come here and have one of their curries. Does it carry the whole meal on its own? No. But as a drink to help balance things out, it's a winner. As for the fried ice cream, they did phenomenal. You actually have to let the ice cream melt slightly to get into it because the ice cream inside the coating is still cold enough to be hard to cut into with a spoon. But it was a delicious dessert to end things off on. I would like to have this with chocolate ice cream, but that's just a personal preference and not sure how that would work. lol I think now that I've had the full restaurant experience here, I can safely say I was a little harsh giving this a 4 the last time around, and even that was still a good meal. The ambiance, the service, and the fact I got to try more things I ended up liking enough to recommend to others was enough for me to bring this up to the full 5. This will definitely be my Waterbury area option for Thai food going forward.

I would say the best thing were the spring rolls since they tasted fresh and the sauce was flavorful. Service was fast. Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages.
