Excellent! A bit hard to find. Driving 7 north it's on the right hand side after power station . Were greeted promptly and seated quickly. Thought we'd have to wait, but dining room had one table left. When we left. Saw they had another dining room available. Menu was large. Liked the pictures. We ordered the tried and true, spring rolls, beef pad thai and drunken chicken. All excellent and large portions. I couldn't finish, so skipped desert. Heard the next table order fried ice cream, yum. Will have to try that next time. Service was very good. Waiter made sure our drinks were filled and our food was prepared quickly. Will definitely stop by next time we're on New Milford.

Tried the mango fish curry --crispy fried fish fillet surrounded by colorful slices of mango, bell pepper, onion and tomato in a pool of creamy red curry sauce. Delicious balance of different textures and flavors. Beautiful plate presentation and plenty of space for private conversation compares to Thai Delight in Newtown. Thai Charm is my new Thai restaurant destination.

Drunken Noodles.... notice the huge chunk of tomato on the top left corner of the plate. That's is literally one half of a tomato.

Rude service. was hoping to like this place as restaurant options are far and few between in this area. The food was ok but not great.

The ambiance is very modern and colorful, with brightly colored walls and murals and really nice family photos and thai decorations up making it authentically thai-american. My favorite dishes here are the guay chai appetizers-- which are fried, deeply savory and chewy-- and their pad see ew which has a umami, wok hei flavor and a silky texture on the rice noodles. My only note is that sometimes the rice noodles come pretty broken up in pieces from the stir fry. Their red curry and pad Thai are also great, very flavorful with a fair portion. I appreciate how now they give you a spice rack to self-customize your spice level instead of relying on the kitchen. I only recently realized how GOOD their drinks are too. By far the best matcha lattes in Putnam county, as a matcha lover I like how you can really taste the matcha rather than just the milk. Their cocktails during golden hour are also amazing, and extremely creative. They also host events like trivia nights and open mics that I would love to attend one day. Thai golden has really set themselves up to be a wonderful hangout spot, and a nice third space to be a part of the community in. Great food, drinks, and vibes all around.

The inside is very "unique" its decorated somewhat like a bad dream mixed with animal pelts. The pho was disappointing. It wasnt rice noodles, it came with nothing on the sides like normal pho (no basil, hoison, bean sprouts, lime etc). When I asked for hoison sauce they brought out an industrial sized bottle that had dried sauce on the sides. I am not sure what to make of this. Nothing was bad, but it was just a weird experience.

This was my first visit, so I ordered cautiously ... only two apps that are typically my favorites in a Thai restaurant. 1) shrimp fresh roll (aka summer roll) 2) tom yum soup Both were good. The fresh roll was the best of the lot and the sauce was excellent. I wish the veggies were a little colder. But that's splitting hairs. The soup was good. Had more funk than spice. Portion was borderline small - but happy I tried it. I will absolutely be back to try more "real" food. I appreciated the service and felt very well taken care of. What keeps me from giving a better score were a few, housekeeping items: 1) while I was pleased to see each table gets a lovely carafe of water, that water is really difficult to drink. It has a metallic and "funky" taste to it. It kind of turned me off to wanting to eat more before I ordered as I was then questioning "is this water in everything?" 2) my shoes kept sticking to the floor. Not out of filth/dirt, but it felt like the soap or floor cleaner they used was somehow still there and sticky. None of this impacted the food. But it put me in a mindset where I didn't really want to order an abundance of food and try it all. To be clear: I will be back. I can't wait to try some other dishes.

As an alumni returning for a weekend visit, I was initially disheartened to discover that my beloved local Thai house, Lemongrass, had closed its doors. However, fate had a delicious surprise in store for me and my friends as we stumbled upon Bangkok Cafe, only to realize it was under the same management as Lemongrass! From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in the comforting aroma of authentic Thai spices and the welcoming ambiance of familiar faces. Each dish we ordered transported me back to my school days, with every bite reminiscent of the culinary magic I had come to cherish at Lemongrass. While every dish we sampled was incredible, the Pad See Ew stole the show! I love Thai food and have been to many amazing restaurants but this pad see ew will always be #1. The noodles are perfect in every aspect - size, shape, and texture. What truly sets Bangkok Cafe apart is not just the outstanding food, but also the affordability without compromising on quality. In a world where good food often comes with a hefty price tag, Bangkok Cafe remains a beacon of accessible excellence. The service is also always top notch. Everyone is so friendly and the food comes out quick! Needless to say, Bangkok Cafe has effortlessly claimed the title of my favorite Thai restaurant, a position it will undoubtedly hold for many years to come.
