I'll say this. Someone suggested eating at Jeffrey's for local Chinese food. Honestly, I had reservations. I didn't want that American wannabe crap like panda house. But my main man Jeffrey is full blown Chinese and it's good!. read more

This place blew my mind. It is probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. I went in thinking it is love it then a friend recommended I try it out and damn it was absolutely amazing. I ordered the dinner special general tsao chicken and it came with pork fried rice and choice of soup I choose wonton soup and the soup was absolutely yummy. The general tsao chicken and sauce were amazing as well it is scrumptious white meat chicken flavored in a sauce that was out of this world scrumptious and tangy which I absolutely loved. I will be ordering from here more often. Keep up the amazing cooking Jeffrey!! read more

We have heard about Jeffrey's from local friends, as an establishment that has been around for years. We ordered lunch specials - Chicken Szechuan and Shrimp in Garlic sauce. Ordered from their online site. The hour & sour soup was really good. Lot of mushrooms and waht appeared to be wood-ear as well. The fried rice came as default and was good. The Shrimp with Garlic sauce was quite good. read more

Haven't been here in ages but put in an order New Year's Eve. You order online and it gives you the time when to pick up. Said about 30 minutes. As you can guess with it being NYE it was hella busy. So I had a wait. But it was cool. You can see the kitchen and it wasn't like anyone was taking it easy. They were very apologetic and everyone got a couple free cans of soda. As they say, though, it was worth the wait. My beef and broccoli was delicious. Tender meat and fresh broccoli cooked just right. The fried egg roll was great. Crispy and tasty with some hot mustard. The boneless spare ribs were tender and tasty. And the pork fried rice was a big hit. We'll return more frequently. read more

Torn writing this review because I've only had good experiences here, but my father in law not so much. I think the food has amazing flavor and good portion sizes. I also like how the specials come with soup if you would like (won ton soup is my favorite here!). However they messed up an online order and left out half of what we wanted. And my father in law had a screw bolt in his food once a little while back! They said it was probably from the fry machine...but a whole metal screw bolt! I'm sure (well I hope) this hasn't ever happened before and accidents happen...but that could have ended badly read more

I gave this place a second try and would absolutely NOT recommend this place. There egg roll was so saturated in oil it fell to pieces. There general Toas chicken was gross. Long stops of chicken with this strange spicy brown sauce. I called to make sure this is what I ordered. Yep offered no exchange or bring it back get your money back. Establishment was filthy, child behind the counter? Lost 26 dollars for 2 combo's what a waste! I'd recommend Kai's off Padamaran. Unfortunately it's Monday and they are closed. I want my money back. read more

They change the prices when you arrive to pick up your order compared to what is on line. Even thier paper menus in the store have handwritten price increases (add $1.00) for a 5 .00 item is crazy. They should either fix the menu pricing or tell you when you place the order over the phone "hey add1.00 to each item you are ordering". This was no surprises when you arrive to pick up. read more

Ordered from here for dinner and I was very disappointed. We used to love Jeffrey's but over the years their quality has gone down. I will not be ordering from Jeffrey's again. read more

Was horrible! Used to be good... Only went because our usual spot on North St is closed on Mondays... my boneless spareribs I ate one bite and threw the rest in the garbage.... Never again! read more

The location was perfect and the waiting/dinning area was clean. The food was bland and General Tso's Shrimp was hard and difficult to cut. No dipping sauce for the Crab Rangoon . We have had much better elsewhere and will not be a repeat customer. read more

Not what it used to be....the lady taking orders is very nice and thorough. This pains me to write this...I don't think my chicken dish had any chicken in it, it was all breading like come on. Also the sesame wontons were just covered in peanut butter....the egg roll was the only thing edible. It's a shame as this place used to be a great take out Chinese restaurant. read more

Don't let the American name throw you round eye. This place is a MUST try. Jeffrey's is a small little takeout place with a few small tables inside. You would have no clue about the quality of the food by the looks of the place. I was hunting for some good Chinese takeout and had a person recommend Jeffrey's and Moon Star. I do like them both but Jeffrey's is on another playing field. I order things I think I know and then have to rethink per they are nothing like what I've had at other restaurants. Take todays order (been here several times already), Kung Pao Chicken and peanuts with spicy Wonton W sesame sauce and a hot and sour soup. First off the lunch specials are dirt cheap. Most 6.35 or under and they come with your choice of soups or soda, couple crab Rangoon's that are freaken scallion awesomeness, as well as the best fried rice I have had in a long time. Kung Pao chicken is done very nicely. Loaded with chicken, veggies, and peanuts. Not swimming in any sauce. Very good well prepared food. Not what I see as the norm especially in a takeout place. The Hot and Sour soup as with the other soups I've tried here were all on the money. Simple no comparison that I've been to in the surrounding area. Now for the Spicy Wontons. Well when I think of wontons I think of fried wontons or wontons in soup. Seeing Spicy wontons on the App list I figured it was some kind of fried wonton with a spicy dipping sauce. Way off. It comes in a soup container. Looked like a brown pile of crap at first glance. Then I open it to see the top covered in sesame seeds. Hmmmm What the hell I have to try them. Kind of a brown hoisin sauce with a little peanut and spicy. Soft tender handmade wontons cooked to perfection. HOT DAM this is good stuff. As stated I've been back here several times. Mala Chicken (first time having this anywhere) is black peppery hot goodness. I would order everything I've had here already, again. It's just that good. Really can't say anything bad at all about this place. 2 thumbs up and a twist. read more

A Chinese restaurant called Jeffrey's? Yep, and the best Chinese we have had so far in the Danbury, Brookfield area. Portions are large enough to share. Wish it wasn't so off the beaten path. We would definitely eat here more. Our favorite is General Tso's Chicken and Tangerine Chicken. read more

Pretty good Chinese food take out. I came here based on the positive reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered cold noodles in sesame sauce and the luncheon special, chicken with broccoli. I was pretty impressed! The cold noodles were actually good. Many place don't really know how to make them properly. These had the right flavor and consistency. The luncheon meal special came with a lot of food for the money. A nice portion of chicken with broccoli. The chicken was tender and the sauce had the right flavor. The broccoli was cooked perfect. The egg roll was fine but the 2 complimentary crab rangoons were warm and crispy. Simply delish. I was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is that the fried rice was a bit overcooked. The rice was dark and a little hard and seemed to be old. All in all, it was a good meal. Price was reasonably inexpensive. read more

This is the best Chinese food I've had in years. After leaving NYC we were worried about finding good restaurants. We went here on a recommendation No more worrying! The food is delicious, not fast food. The people who work there are friendly & helpful. They know their customers & make good recommendations. This is our go-to place for Chinese. read more

When I lived in Danbury this was my favorite spot. I've been away for almost 20 years and every single time I set foot in CT I NEED to eat here at least (3x is usually my norm when I visit for about a week). No fast food Chinese spot can hold a candle to this place. My absolute favorite no matter what state I live in! read more

Great food! Excellent service! They follow all precautions at pick up, I was born in New York City and miss the food but this place is amazingly similar to some back home. Chicken wings awesome! Boneless spareribs my fave and the rice taste right! Old school.. if u know u know! Lol I WILL LEAVE U WITH ENJOY!! PS. Not so expensive either! read more

Wow! Delish! We loved it. Chicken was fresh and loaded with extra hot peppers as requested. Chicken and Broccoli had a nice brown sauce and was very very good. Food was very hot and our meal came with fresh sugar donuts and extra fortune cookies. Would definitely recommend! Best Chinese restaurant in Danbury. read more

Best take-out Chinese place I've ever had in comparison with other $ places. Everything is better then every other takeout place and basically on par with the more expensive restaurants - seriously - EV. RY. THING. Standouts so far: Sesame Chicken - long pieces of chicken, lightly battered and fried - turns a light orange color - instead of the usual dark brown clumps at the other places Pu Pu Platter - spare ribs are juicy and the shrimp rolls are - BIG, and stuffed with shrimp and vegetables - and a light, flaky shell A lot of times they will give you free doughnuts or soup with your order, too - just for the hell of it! read more

A great find! Visiting Danbury Ct and we were craving Chinese food and after reading the Yelp reviews I thought I'd give this place a try. One word to describe this place is delicious! Everything we ordered was good, especially the spicy wonton. The food was fresh and spicy as requested. They gave us fried donuts as a free treat..yum! You would drive right by this place if you didn't know it was there. Its worth a try! read more

The food here is gross. The general tso's tastes like bbq. The pork fried rice is dry. After one visit I will never be back. I look one bite of each and did not continue. I did however devour the crab ragoons, and that is my only reason for 2 stars. The location is poor at best. It is so far away from the commercial area's in Danbury and New Fairfield, unless you are driving by, it is not worth seeking out. read more

This is one of those rare occurrences where there's multiple awesome Chinese takeout places within the same city of each other. I've been to Jeffrey's a few times in the past, but rarely remember what I previously ordered. I only recalled that the food was top notch, so I went on that notion when we ordered takeout recently. Jeffrey's is open until 11pm on Saturday nights. You heard me right. We took advantage of this since none of us really were hungry until about 9pm and had serious cravings for Chinese food. Luckily, Jeffrey's wasn't too far away, so we settled on ordering takeout from there. I wasn't starving, but pork lo mein sounded perfect, so I tacked one on to the order my two other friends made and 20 minutes later we drove over to pick it up. Our order was packed neatly in half a cardboard making the carrying portion a lot easier, especially since it was snowing outside. We paid separately and drove back to my buddy's place. They really packed the lo mein into that plastic dish. Very generous portion for the price I paid and super delicious, not too greasy whatsoever. Seemed like my two other friends enjoyed their's, judging from the fact that they demolished their portions equally as fast. Love this place. Can't say I'll frequent it too often since it's on the other side of town for me, but I'll definitely go where when I can. read more

Always tasty food & great service , portions are large - chicken w/ pineapple, & chicken w/ SNOW PEAS are favorites

I have to say this is THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN THE AREA! Shout out to the lady that works the front because she always makes sure your order is correct and hooks us up with some donuts and oolong tea. The GENERAL TSO is very saucy and the LO MEIN is NEVER DRY! I LOVE THEM!!! read more

Decent Chinese food for those nights when you're just too wiped to cook or even microwave! I'm from NY, so I'm picky about my Chinese food. I went here based on their decent Yelp reviews, and wasn't disappointed. I'm vegan, so I generally order steamed tofu and broccoli with General Tso's sauce on the side, maybe a side of steamed green beans or vegetable dumplings. Their steamed dishes are fine - Taste of China in Tarrytown used to steam their vegetables with ginger, which I miss, but it's not exactly a requirement, so I let it pass. Their dumplings weren't very good - the consistency of the dough was a bit too sticky and thick, and the filling tasted suspicious, like you weren't quite sure what it consisted of. I've been here a few times since moving to Danbury, especially since it's 5 minutes away from my house. If you stick with something that you know you like, it's consistently good. That makes it okay by me. read more

Fresh food much appreciated. All good was very warm and tasty. The Sesame and General Tsos chicken were well seasoned and the chicken was all white meat! Fried rice is authentic vs. bright yellow! My fave was the crab Rangoon that came w the lunch special. We will definitely return! read more

Jeffrey's has the best Chinese food I've ever had anywhere! I've lived in Manhattan and Queens, NY and even the most legendary establishments the city has to offer does not hold a candle to Jeffrey's always fresh and flavorful cuisine. Their Spicy wontons in sesame sauce offers the perfect sweet and spicy appetizer. The boneless bbq spare ribs are sweet pieces of lean meat (not the greasy, gristly hunks of meat you are used to) and their wonton soup is second to none, with a flavorful broth and fresh, pillowy, succulent wontons. You won't regret trying this must-have takeout staple in Danbury! read more

Jeffrey's Chinese Kitchen - Buddha at Jeffrey's - Chinese Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

The best Chinese Take Out in the Danbury area. It's not your normal mess of gelatinous friend chicken chunks, covered in some overly sweet sauce. All their dishes have distinct flavors and they use awesome, big pieces of all white meat chicken! Tried the General Tso's, Tangerine Chicken, and Shrimp and Brocoli. The General Tso's was ok, there was no spice to it. Tangerine chicken had a great fresh orange flavor. Shrimp and Brocolii had perfectly cooked and nicely sized shrimp with a great flavor. Our order also came with some free fried noodles and fried dough balls instead of fortune cookies. The only complaint was that the chicken was not crispy despite eating it within minutes of coming off the wok. The fried outside had become very soft when sitting in the sauce. read more

I ordered from Jeffrey's based on the reviews that I read on Yelp. Even though it is a bit of a drive from my house, I am so glad that I went there. I ordered two lunch specials for myself and my daughter. We got the sesame chicken, and the orange beef. Both dishes were really great. They pack in so much food, that it actually made two meals for both of us. The fried rice is one of the best I've ever had. And I love the fact that they give you two Crab Rangoons with each lunch special. The wonton soup is also very flavorful. I have now found my new favorite Chinese takeout. read more

Professional establishment that provides fresh and fast chinese takeout food. Its a family business that cares for its customers.

Very disappointing. We haven't taken out from here for a while and probably won't again. Food undercooked and flavorless. Fried rice was really just greasy rice. Egg Foo Yung was mushy. Don't know what happened - used to be very good. read more

Great Chinese food for the price. Fast. Pickup only. Located in a random spot but easy to find. As far as the food, the combo meals are large and more than enough. Their fried doughnuts are to die for, 2 come with a meal but make sure to get extra! 5 stars for price and quality. read more

Good portions and flavor. Takeout food, fast service. Tastes closest to chinese food around...

By far the best Chinese Take Out in Danbury. So far the dishes we have ordered all have a distinct flavor that is very good. I especially like the way they package their food. I really like the General Tso's Chicken, the pork fried rice and the Won Ton soup. All orders come with fried dough balls. Love the Buddha's too! read more

Best Chinese food in Danbury... Except for their rice. The fried rice has a weird cinnamon/nutmeg spice and it is just rough and hard.... Forget about leftovers - you can't eat the rice. This is a shame, since they have THE best General Tso chicken I've ever eaten. Anywhere. Most of their other dishes are also very good, but it's all about the General Tso's! Come on Jeffrey....
