3 stars Staff 5 stars. Great service. Very friendly. Food 3 stars. Steamed dumplings tasted anything but steamed. Wasn't very good. It was tough and dry. Sauce didn't help. Thai Basil was good. I love Thai food and this was my first time ordering from here. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and spring rolls. The spring rolls were very chewy and you can tell they were old or may have been sitting out. And they were burnt on the ends. The shrimp in my drunken noodles were not peeled all the way, I kept biting into them and tasted shells. Some of the veggies appears to be old. I will not be returning here and it's unfortunate this is my experience with them! The only reason they didn't get a 1 star is because order came on time. read more

It's ok Thai food. I don't expect Thai food in the US to be completely authentic, but when a panang curry is chock full of bell pepper (which isn't even found in Thailand) and no other vegetables, it says something. The rice was dry, cold, and chewy, and this was right during the lunch hour so you'd expect the rice to be fresh. Service was friendly despite the rush. I don't mind the dive-y atmosphere because rent is expensive downtown, and besides, that's part of the charm of mom-and-pop businesses. read more

We loved this place. The lunch specials include soup and spring roll. The thai iced tea was perfect. The spring roll was the perfect amount of crisp and fresh veggies. The pad seuw was very flavorful with a great little crisp to my chicken stir fry. The atmosphere was cute and friendly. I loved the touch of the paper rose in the straw! Highly recommend! read more

I should have checked the reviews prior to patronizing this establishment. 1) food, lacked luster, bland all you taste is heat. Thai basil rice had very little basil. It was also greasy. The lunch combo is deceiving. They state you get an egg roll and soup with your dish. Well the egg roll was the size of a Totino's pizza roll. The soup was in a small container that was only 1/4 filled. 2) service, after my order was taken and paid for, I was told it would take 20 minutes. Who does that? Never again!!! read more

Came here for the first time on my lunch break from the nearby government building. Unfortunately, there was a short black hair in my food (I'm blonde). I would return it if it weren't such a hike from my department. That's $15.03 I'll never get back. Beware eating here. read more

Thai Paradise is nice during its lunch special. You get a lunch size pad Thai, soup, and an egg roll for your meal. I recently ordered a chicken pad Thai for pick up and for some reason there was only 3 small pieces of chicken there. I also ordered their Thai Tea and it was watered down and a lot of half & half instead of the actual Thai Tea itself. I'm never ordering Thai tea here again; I'll just stick with the pad Thai lunch special and that's it. During lunch time is super packed, so better arrive early or else you'll be waiting! When I ordered for pick up, it was a 25-30 minute wait time. Just a heads up for you guys! read more

A great take out place! I probably wouldn't eat in due to ten design. The line of people waiting for take out runs right through the dining room. Note their hours! They close by 9:00 on the weekend . The drunken noodles were excellent and filled with veggies. The portion size was large and left enough for the next day. My husband loves the crab Rangoon, some of the best we've had! read more

This is a great little place that has delicious yellow curry. I've been here a dozen times and only once have I tried anything else. That isn't typically what I do, but the yellow curry is something I crave and so I always go back to it. The lunch special includes a bit of soup, and a small spring roll and the curry is served with white rice. One co-worker goes here weekly, and she's fond of the Pad Thai.... she's only tried yellow curry once. I wouldn't say we're exactly in a rut, I'd say we found something we love and now stick to it. Another coworker has tried everything on the menu and also likes pad thai the best. They are always busy weekdays at lunchtime, so get there early if you want to dine in. During warmer temperatures, you can also sit outside. Or, call ahead and pick up an order to go. Service is usually pretty good....but the last time we went she never returned after serving the meal. It would have been nice to get a refill on drinks. Must have been a busier day than usual. read more

If you work downtown, you've gotta add Thai Paradise to your lunch rotation. They've got a super solid lunch deal where you can get some tasty menu items, as well as a spring roll and some lemongrass soup for under $15. And that soup is quite literally the most delicious soup I've ever had. It's so refreshing and warm with the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Next time I'm sick, I'm forgetting the chicken and noodle soup and I'm going straight for their soup! read more

Not your usual Thai delivery in a big city. Rice done perfectly - sorry no picture because I literally inhaled it. Lol. My chicken order is perfectly spicy (made to order) with tons of veg and shrimps too. Fighting off a cold after the end of a two day conference and this is the perfect antidote. I've been here for 3-4 times. I've never ordered Pad Thai before. But last time I stopped by for lunch and get this menu and it was good! I would say this taste pretty more authentic. Pad Thai shouldn't have a lot of sauce in it. The lunch deal is really good that's why the place was packed! I would say after 3 times visiting. This place has quality to be a 5 star but lack of menu options and small portions are difference makers for me. The menu features most of what is so very standard in indianapolis that cuisine. One slight exception to this is the moo ping (grilled marinated pork skewers) which is fantastic. As with most of the thai restaurants I have reviewed, I harp on lack of authentic options that are common in larger cities but hard to come by in indy (moo dang dishes, thai style noodle soups, esan sausage, kao soi, ground meat pad ka prao, kao mun gai, guay teow gai sub, etc). If visiting downtown, would recommend as the food is good across the board. Sizes are about 75 percent of most other thai restaurants but quality largely makes up for that. read more

Sorry wasn't impressed. Got in right before the lunch crowd and was quickly seated but can't say that for people arriving after me. Very small amount of seating, wait seems to be about 7-15 minutes. Spring roll came out, barely hot, soup was meh. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice, wasn't impressed by presentation but I guess when you running food in and out the kitchen so fast it's not gonna all look pretty. The flavor was ok, but the rice was harder than I would have preferred. Wouldn't break my top 2 list of downtown Thai spots. Fast service. Louder, small space. Limited seating. Great hidden gem in downtown Indy. Enjoyed everything I had on the menu which was crab rangoons, dumplings and Yum salad with chicken. Crab rangoons were some of the best I think I've ever had. Filling was a flavorful and the rangoons were not greasy and cooked just right to the right amount of crispy ness. The dumplings were also very flavorful and had a decent amount of filling. The Yum salad was so fresh and had lots of good fresh veggies. I ordered hot and would have liked more spice and heat. To me this was a medium at best. Parking is difficult as it is on a small street. I recommended having someone drop you off while you get food or if you are able to walk then I highly recommend that as well. Great spot for lunch downtown. My coworker, sister, and I met up here for lunch one afternoon. They are located right off the circle which is convenient for anyone in the area. They were decently busy when we came too. They had great lunch options to choose from but I went with ol' faithful and got drunken noodles. The lunch came with a soup as well, that was really good! This is a walk up and order your food, pick a table, and they bring you your food kind of place. So in a way it's a nice place to go if you are in kind of a rush but want the restaurant experience. We sat outside at one of the few tables to choose from. It's quite a small patio space so there were only 3-4 tables to choose from. Inside is pretty tight too. Overall, nice portions and delicious food. Will come back! read more

Good Stuff! The lunch specials at $9.99 are priced right and portion enough to stretch into two. At first the rice looks like it won't be enough until you spread it out. Stopped in for the $8.99 lunch special. The inside is kind of small, but has nice decorations and there wasn't a wait. The lunch special comes with an entree item, lemongrass soup and an egg roll. The lemongrass soup was absolutely delicious. I got the pad thai with medium spice. They have options for mild, medium, hot and thai hot. As far as spice goes, I honestly couldn't tell if they even put anything in it and had to ask for a side of chili peppers to add some more kick. Other than that the flavor was pretty good! Only reason for 4 stars is that the noodles were pretty saturated and almost mushy. Overall, good authentic meal for the price. read more

I ordered the paradise noodles with chicken this time and I enjoyed it more than the pad Thai last time! The starter soup and egg roll are very good. Try to get here early as it gets crowded quickly. For $10 this is a solid lunch spot. There is also some outdoor seating which is perfect now that it is getting warm. read more

It was excellent combination with the rice it came with. The pad kee mao was sub par. Flavor was weak and protein pieces were small. Nonetheless, it sufficed for our lunch needs. Nothing spectacular to make your way over here, but if you are in the neighborhood, it will get the job done.

I found out about Thai coconut soup from another place at 56th street, but was so thrilled to find Thai Recipes Restaurant on the south side of the city. And their soup is amazing. I recently tried their chicken and beef pad Thai, and again amazing! They have a really good coconut chicken soup as well if you're not a seafood lover, that I would recommend. And everything is so reasonably priced. If you're going for the first time, maybe go during their lunch hours, for you to try some items at a smaller portion and a slightly smaller price. But you can get a feel for it before you order dinner, at a slightly higher price. Still reasonable just slightly higher. I've not had an opportunity to dine in- I usually order to-go. But it's a nice, clean and calm atmosphere when I do go inside. So if you love, delicious Thai food check it out and let me know what you think !

We had the jalapeño bomb as appetizer and it was amazing, seriously a perfect bite. I like the Pad Kee Moa at most places so I went for it. I wasn't sure how spicy to get it so I went medium, their medium is a mild at most places. It was still delicious and a huge serving. My husband has the cashew nut , he went with Hot and chicken. We definitely know we want spicier next time. This really is a beautiful spot with a parking lot of its own, and I hope to see it full next time we pop in.

For the appetizer you could choose up to 3 different items, in effect make your own little sampler. I chose the Thai dumpling, crab rangoon and spring roll. This came with both gyoza sauce and sweet and sour sauce. Let me rave about the crab rangoon. It was stuffed to the max with a nice savory filling. The wrapper was one of the most delicate things and the sweet and sour sauce was also spot on. The spring roll was delicious, the dumpling not my favorite, but stuffed with a lot of meat and one of my guests praised it extensively. Then we got to choose a soup and I chose gaeng jued, which is about as difficult to pronounce as it is to eat. Those noodles get quite slippery in the broth and hard to catch. But the effort is well worth it. This soup is absolutely delicious. Then on to the main course... never mind I am already getting full. Chicken Padd Thai for me any day. Medium spice, it was not as spicy as I would like it, so you don't have to be carefully with your spice level. The Padd Thai was delicious and a huge serving. I took most of it home since we still got to enjoy a dessert. Fried bananas please. This came with 4 large pieces, so basically a whole banana if you put it end to end. It had some coconut rolled up in the wrapper also and then a drizzle of honey. Very good. Glad I saved some room for it. I will be back for sure. This place is worth it, even at full price.
