Thai BBQ is usually delicious food with great service. However, the online takeout or delivery lacks this same reputation. On my last order the food tasted great. Unfortunately the staff put extra items in my order and I received a text that my original order had increased in price as I drove to pick up my order. When I asked why the order price increased the cashier said she didn't know why. I asked for a receipt and she said that she could not give me the receipt because they need it for their records. O yeah other thing watch out for your bill make sure your not paying double for your tip. They already include Tips on the final bill luckily, I check closely on the bottom of the bill a real small letter you need a magnifying glass to see it haha they added a 15% to gratuity charge and when they give you the final bill make sure you don't add more to the tip unless it is deserve just saying. I finally decided to try this place, since I'm always in the neighborhood, and tonight, I decided to honor my craving for Thai food. Under normal circumstances, I would say:"I'm glad I did." but tonight, I wish I hadn't! I was in the mood for some Shrimp Pad Thai, and some Pad Se Ew. Upon arrival I was greeted by a middle-aged woman who seemed, rather disgruntled. That, aside, I proceeded with my order. I also noticed a bunch of hand written signs basically stating, "if you want any of our sauces," we'll charge you extra for them. They even had one about straws, where if the customer doesn't ask for one, they don't get one. Outrageous, if you ask me! After what seemed like a long wait, I finally received my food and, went to find a place to sit, so I could dig in! I started with the Pad Se Ew and, gave it a mix, then took a bite. It was then, that I noticed the beef wasn't even stir fried! The pieces were boiled! I was left with a metallic aftertaste, a swiftly discarded it. Now, on to the Shrimp Pad Thai. The sauce was okay. None of the flavor note really came through at all. The shrimp itself tasted as if, it was steamed, and not stir fried. I wanted to say, "A for effort," but just couldn't, with this place. Thank goodness, the Thai iced Tea was semi-good, even though, I've had better! Honestly? The quality I received, in exchange of what I paid for, was sub-par! Not to mention, severely overpriced! WOW!!!! Im so DISGUSTED! I went for lunch and brought my leftovers home. The bag was closed very tightly. Look what i found in Chicken Pad See Ew! I thought how come there were 1 inch long fish bones in my chicken, but after observing closely I fingured out they were 2 tiny chicken feathers. O.o For sure they used chicken meat only, skinless, boneless, but not featherless. People do eat chicken skin, but chicken feathers? idk. Plus last time I also got a black curly hair, about 1.5 in long, in my fried rice. Make sure to get a seat by the front windows as the front windows are one way mirrors from the street. Thai Original BBQ and my family go waayyy back...so here's a little history of how we discovered Thai BBQ when i was 7yr old. i used to live in Los Angeles and we would go to the Thai Original BBQ off of 3rd Street. Then we moved to SGV and my family and i always have the cravings for some good satay. So we'd go to other thai restaurants, malay restaurants and just really try to find a good palce w/ good satay.. NOTHING nothing is as good as what we had back in the days..the beef was either too dry or doesnt have enough taste or even too chewy. One year the owner of Thai Original BBQ in glendale (the closest one to our house) visited my parents' restaurant and told us we should go to his restaurant some time. So one day we went and we all ordered S-8 from the menu beef satay w/ shrimp fried rice. We were sooo excited to see our dish sitting in front of us..as we took that first bite of our beef satay..all the good memories from our old times in LA came back to us. THAT IS THE FLAVOR we've been looking for. THAT is the good satay we've been searching and searching. Now i'm 26...and i still get the beef satay cravings from time to time. The beef is so tender, so flavorful, that smell of bbq just fills up my nostril. The taste of the beef is soo well marinated that, i personally dont need to dip the beef satay in the peanut sauce. I enjoy eating it by itself. As for the peanut sauce i like to pour into my shrimp fried rice, OH and i would request a side of sweet sauce (red).. i would pour all the sweet sauce and a little bit of peanut sauce into my rice..mix it all together and then eat it!! sooo gooooooddd! Some of my friends find it weird to see me eat it that way, but hey! you cant say eww until you try it urself. And guess what? a few of them do the same thing as i do! ha ha.. and some just like their fried rice just as it is. i've also tried the BBQ Spare Rib - that was good too.. it comes w/ the sweet sauce for you to dip the spare rib into. I had their duck..not that great, i find it a bit too dry and not enough meat. tom yum soup and pad thai were both enjoyable. bbq chicken was good too and as you can see from other yelpers they like the bbq chicken a lot. maybe i'm just a red meat eater, so i tend to like their beef more than their chicken.
