Nothing was pre-steamed or soggy...just freshly packed goodness. The chicken was incredibly crispy on the outside while still juicy and moist on the inside, which is honestly the best combo you can hope for. Every bite had that perfect crunch followed by flavorful tenderness. I don't usually feel the need to leave reviews for fast food spots since most are pretty average, but last night genuinely impressed me enough to give them a shoutout. So yeah, when visiting Little Manila - aka the mall in Eagle Rock - make sure you pay your respects and stop by this OG Filipino fast food spot. Despite this location being relatively small, they do manage to make the most of space as there's a lot of seating for individual and small groups. I originally gave this place a scathing 1-star review because, let's be honest, customer service was a whole telenovela of eye-rolling, attitude, and "why-are-you-bothering-me" energy. And with Seafood City, ChowKing, LBC and Valerio's Bakery within the same area of the mall, it's become our go-to place for my monthly Filipino errands. Target is an added bonus for other groceries and household supplies. To avoid the long line, I place my order using the Jollibee app. This has worked well overall. But on occasion, the wait is long and far beyond the pick-up time. This happened today, when they ran out of the spicy chicken (again). The upside to this is that the fried chicken is fresh, super crispy and so, so good. The downside is they prep our sides ahead of time, so they end up being lukewarm. Oh man this place is busy, and there is a line, and so I had to try it , even if I was pushed by friends to try it. I ordered the 2 piece Jollijoy with coleslaw, and pineapple drink. This review is for the Jollibee at the Eagle Rock plaza. After trying other fast food chicken places I can honestly say that Jollibee chicken taste better and is worth the price. The staff is fast and friendly which is rare nowadays. I got a two piece one spicey and one original both pieces were juicy and not dried out like its been sitting under a heating lamp all day. The gravy hits as well, it compliments the chicken and rice and raises it to next taste level. We tried a spicy chicken sandwich, a deluxe burger, and a 3 piece strips. The spicy sandwich was fine, but nowhere near as good as others we've had elsewhere. Strips were dry and the sauce was disappointing. The burger was the biggest disappointment. Overly salty, a wilted piece of lettuce, and just not a good burger. Jollibee is my Los Angeles staple fried chicken fast food restaurant. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the nostalgia hasn't worn off at all. Note this location is in the mall which might be confusing for non regulars. Just follow your gps and park outside the double doors downstairs in the parking garage. The good news is this location is located inside not very far in. This spot gets busy so I recommend coming off hours. I came most recently on a Sunday at 2pm during a holiday weekend and it really wasn't too busy. They move quickly either way but I was only fourth in line which felt lucky. The staff hustle here and chicken is flying off the trays, that's how you ensure you're always getting a fresh bite. The chicken is constantly being fried fresh to order and it barely touches the tray before it's in a bucket and off to go. I always burn my mouth here because I can't wait for the chicken to cool down lol. The classics are their fried chicken of course dunked in their heavenly gravy. What makes this fried chicken spot the best is that the batter is uber crispy and the chicken is always juicy. Truly the best fried chicken in the game. The gravy is the perfect pairing to the chicken. For the sides I like them all. I usually do a family pack so I can get the mashed potatoes, white rice, and adobo rice. We need variety! lol. For dessert you can't not leave without trying a peach mango pie. Crispy and flaky goodness, you will become obsessed. All the chicken had a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The pieces were nice and big. The chicken came with a cup of gravy sauce. The jolly spaghetti has a sweet-style sauce with plenty of ham and hotdog slices. It was good, although not amazing. It is a good dish to eat alongside their chicken. This was only me second jollibee experience and it did not disappoint! It was well made and held up surprisingly well! The FRIED CHICKEN, was hot and had a great crunch! I think the GRAVY takes it up a notch. I usually ask for a bucket of that gravy on the side. It's salty and a little peppery. The SPAGHETTI is definitely a new flavor profile for me. I'm not used to the sweetness but it definitely has a place among the salty fried chicken. The PEACH MANGO PIES are where it's at! Absolutely horrendous service! Took my seven year old and myself for a flu shot at the Kaiser clinic next door and promised her a tasty dinner here afterwards. We ordered at 6:27 pm and the place was pretty busy - they said it would be 20 minutes. After a half hour I asked about my order and the worker looked confused checking the tickets on the line - it was getting busier, but the man in front of us in line had left with his food 15 minutes ago. I've worked in food service for many years and I know the look of a missing ticket, which is clearly what was occurring. Ten minutes later the restaurant was absolutely packed and there was a mob of impatient customers waiting for their food. It seemed like the DoorDash and Uber eats orders were the only ones being filled. After 45 minutes I spoke with the floor manager who was also unable to locate our ticket on the line and asked for my receipt - I saw him confusedly flip through every ticket on the prep line unable to locate our order (which was only three items!). He did not say sorry or confirm with me that my order was not being made. I told him if they hadn't begun preparing my order I would need a refund. By this time it was 7:15 and my daughter was literally in tears. She had a sore arm from her flu shot and was STARVING and upset that she wouldn't get the yummy food I had promised her. The manager was flustered and unable to process my refund but the nice cashier told me it would be refunded within 5 days after minutes of watching him scroll through past orders on the computer trying to locate our missing tab. Still, nobody said sorry to us!! Oh, and we hadn't even gotten our drink in all this time either.
