I had decent food here years ago but tonight was a horrible experience. My 'bar' for Thai in Santa Fe is already low and this was still an epic disappointment. We asked the woman working if all the food we ordered was in the (to go) bag and she said it was. Untrue... -The brown rice we ordered for the curry ($3) was completely left out of the bag but we were still charged. -The Panang chicken curry was flavorful but they gave us shrimp instead of chicken and only four small shrimps in the entire curry order. -Pad See Ew (chicken) was bland, completely flavorless. -Thai Basil Stir Fry. We ordered the veggie option. This dish cost $17 and the tub was 1/3 full. Basically some steamed broccoli and limp cabbage. Less than 8oz of food in some broth and, again, $17! We are taking this back (which I've never done before). -The shrimp rolls were pretty much all tempura batter with mealy, soggy, flavorless shrimp. This fiasco of a meal cost over $90. There are much better options in Santa Fe. We will not be going back. read more

I have been wanting to stop by this restaurant for a long time now, and I'm so glad I found the time one Monday afternoon. The restaurant was empty, but welcoming and cute. Our server was very pleasant and helped us decide on our dishes. We started with the Buddha dumplings which were in a creamy and flavorful curry sauce 10/10. I always resort to drunken noodles to see if I'm going to like a place. I asked for the dish to be spicy and received a medium spice level, but delicious nonetheless 9/10. My friend ordered the special soup of the day which was a Thai beef noodle. He enjoyed every last bit of it! We also ordered panang curry to go, I got the chicken. It was so flavorful and I kept wanting more 10/10. Arguably my favorite dish. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! read more

I do not recommend this place. We made a reservation a WEEK in advance. When we walked in the place was completely empty. We were standing there for a few minutes when a worker approached us and told us there was only one chef working right now making online orders. We let him know that we had made a reservation and he went to go get someone else in the kitchen. She told us it would be a 30-40 minute wait just to order. Thai on canyon is very strange. I have been about 3-4x only because sometimes my thai food craving is extremely strong and I do not feel like driving to Albuquerque to satiate it. It is strange upon entering because I feel like I am letting myself in, I have never been greeted, I usually have to wait a long time to be seated or see waitstaff at all whether the restaurant is busy or completely empty. I always wonder do I grab a menu, do I seat myself, is the restaurant open? The ambiance is also strange, art hung on the walls that is very small for the walls and hung with tons of plastic hooks exposed and left where they have taken art down. The service is extremely slow, again, kinda like you are in a weird empty house unsure on how to proceed. Ambiance and service would get a 1-2 stars for me and that has been consistent with each visit. However, the food is flavorful, it has some depth at times depending on the dish and it tastes fresh. The sauces all seem sweet to me. I usually get the pad kee mao with tofu although I have tried and ordered various other things on the menu. It is satiating. It is neither great or upsetting. I do however get upset that they charge for rice even in dishes like curries that come with rice. So be aware no matter what you order rice is an up charge and they do not share this. We once paid $10 in rice unknowingly with a bigger party! Wouldn't have done this as we assumed rice came with the meals it is needed with... weird and would appreciate honesty around it costing extra. I am always left feeling weird after eating here and wishing I was better taken care of and felt more comfortable in the space. read more

The food is really good. Seriously. Best Thai in Santa Fe. The service is hit or miss. So are the hours. The last time I went in at 6:50. The gentleman up front told me they were closing at 7. Even though the website and the posted hours said they closed at 8. I pointed this out and he told me they were closing early. It was a nice day - no snow or storms or...anything. Fortunately we were able to walk in at El Farol. Always a lovely choice. The dining area is also not as clean or well maintained as is normal for this (expensive) part of Santa Fe. So I gotta say, despite all the negative reviews, I was drawn to this place as if they were wrong. It would meet my needs for this evening. There were no lights outside. If my GPS wasn't telling me it was there I would not have seen it. I did not see any sign outside with the restaurant name on it, but there was an open sign in the window. I went inside and there were no customers. I walked past the tables and found a woman there who said they were open, but they had only one KOCH and were behind on their orders so it would take a while. Not encouraging. But somehow, I decided to sit down anyway, as I was not in a rush. I ordered a simple ginger fried rice dish. It actually came promptly and it was quite tasty. Slowly, the waitress seemed more positive. Another table filled. If you're looking for fancy, this place might not fit the bill. Service was alright. The food portions has gotten significantly smaller since we began eating here in 2023. It was always really good food back then but now they give half sizes in all entries and upped the prices as well. When I asked wheres the rest of it, my server shrugged and said that it was all there was. It was probably 5 regular bites of noodles. I would not go again. read more

This was my first time visiting Thai on Canyon and it was a miss for me. If you like sweet Thai food that's overpriced, this is your spot. It definitely caters to the canyon road tourists who are looking for something different from all the New Mexican restaurants. Parking wasn't available nearby, so we had to walk a few blocks to get here and it's not the easiest walk if you're not wearing comfy shoes. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a decent sized patio in the front. The menu has a lot of your standard thai curries and noodle dishes. I had the Tom Yum soup and it was incredibly sweet and very off tasting. The Som Tum was also sweet and very americanized with no hint of spice whatsoever. The Pad Kee Mao was also sweet which at that point was no surprise, but I was disappointed at how it tasted more like Pad See Ewe instead of your standard drunken noodles. First bite was completely raw chicken! It was chewy and when I looked completely pink. So maybe mistakes happen but I could have gotten salmonella poisoning. In addition they should have comped the whole meal and only took off the one dish?! Really? I mean that is serious! I ate nothing after making for a very awkward dinner, I was repulsed it ruined the whole outing. The person waiting on us reeked of alcohol and kept apologizing that he didn't work there, and that he was just helping out. He had us write down our orders and noted that they didn't have Thai iced tea but did have regular ice tea. We said iced tea with lemon is fine- they never brought us the drinks. The curry was meh- needed salt- and the potatos were undercooked. Our meals were actually reasonably priced- or so we thought- until it cane time to pay. Our waiter informed us that rice with curry costs extra, and tried to explain some convoluted issue with the credit card machine. I used to love this place. The food still taste great but they have shrunk the carryout orders and raised the price. I get the Kra Pow which used to be $14.95 but now is $16.95. And you have to pay extra for rice. In the picture on the left is the old size and on the right is the shrunken current size. (I save my containers for other things). There are other options like Bo Thai which is also one of my favorites. If you go I think you will enjoy it but you may go away hungry. read more

We didn't even best this tiny portion due to the lacking & really sweet taste. The brown rice totally over cooked. So we're the drunken noodles. But at least they has sine flavor to them. The black pepper chicken was tasteless and tough to eat. So we didn't eat it at all. Only okayish dish (but also only average at best) were the Buddha dumplings. When we came to pick up our order, the front of house staff said they had substituted our order for another item because they had run out of ingredients, and didn't offer any kind of discount. This sadly seems to be a case of a restaurant that is cutting costs on all sides without any clear benefit to the consumer. If the portions are smaller *and* the food is yet proportionately more expensive *and* the customer service is exponentially worse *and* you can't even rely on getting what you ordered, it's clear the only thing that is being optimized and protected are profits to ownership. Made reservations here for their cute patio. They don't have an alcohol license, a minus in my book, I love an Asian beer with my Thai food, a cocktail, something stronger than sparkling water in the can, that's what I got. Thai Iced tea was a hit with my husband. We shared an appetizers, their Fresh Thai Rolls were decent. For entree, I went with Drunken Noodles, a favorite of mine. I usually like to get beef with it, but that wasn't the choice here, so I went with chicken. The dish was good but way too spicy. I never had Drunken Noodles so spicy anywhere else. The pad thai was a hit in my party, everyone was raving it was one of the best they had, I tried it and it was delicious, so that would be the a good choice. The Thai Style Cashew Nut was decent, more on the bland side. Customer service was ok, it went downhill once we had to move inside due to an afternoon rain, they kinda forgot about us. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but it's an option in the area if folks in your party have too much local food, or get tired of it and want to switch! read more

Loved this Thai food spot in Santa Fe. What a hidden gem! And such a nice change from New Mexican cuisine (which I can assure you I'm not complaining about). My friend and I enjoyed the Fish Cake, Mixed Veggies with Tofu, and Pad Kee Mow with Tofu. I appreciated that our server asked me what spice level I wanted. And I felt like the "medium" level was a true medium -- a nice punch that left a pleasant warmth. There was no wait, and service was friendly and fast. Parking is a chore since the city lot across the street is currently closed, and Canyon Road, in general, has a lack of parking. This is about the worst Thai food I have ever had and close to the worst food in general. Not only is it bland and completely devoid of spice but it is also full of sugar and has almost no resemblance to real Thai food. Even some of the noodles were uncooked! Hard! Crunchy! The Pad Thai sauce tastes like ketchup and sugar. The papaya salad was akin to an iceberg lettuce salad from Dennys.... With a sprinkling of sliced papaya... one peanut and one shrimp. We asked for chili oil to spice it up and they were all out - they brought us the last drops in the bottle in an attempt to convince us that it was in fact a Thai restaurant. This was one of the few places to eat in the afternoon on Canyon so it was wonderful to stumble upon it. I highly recommend ordering a few small plates and sharing. Interesting experience.... Walked in as the first customers of the day, snow outside and no heat in the building but a very present gas fireplace. We ordered appetizers. It wasn't until we were almost done with our appetizers that the gal server came back to order our entrees. Which may be their way of doing things but in 25 years of working in the industry I've never trained or worked that way. Next odd thing was a male server in the back on speaker phone with his boss telling her "you can't just change the schedule and keep moving us around" he was so loud and I found that extremely unprofessional. Then it came time for the bill. Per our math it was to be $53 and change. But our bill was $75.00. The food was incredible! But the service, staff and being freezing cold and food turning ice cold in minutes wasn't a fun or pleasurable experience. read more

Ambiance was very cool. Petite portions. Good flavors overall and the service was excellent.

Customer service was great but the food...I asked if the fresh rolls came with peanut sauce, the server said yes. I got some sort of soy sauce and the fresh rolls were tiny especially for $9. They should either sell two fresh rolls for $5 or 4 for $9, tiny rolls! I also had Tom Kha and it tasted more fishy than having the delicious taste of kiffer lime leaves and lemon grass, and on top of the poor taste, the serving was very small. I'm so disappointed with my meal. The best Thai food is in the Big Island of Hawaii! No one else compares. I won't eat here again, because the meal is small for the price and not at all good tasting. But what can I expect for Santa Fe? I have not found one good restaurant yet in Santa Fe...and always expensive. read more

Food is great, very good in flavor. The only thing that sucks about this place is the service. Every time I go it's a wait about 10 minutes just to get help. Another 40+ minutes for the food to arrive. On top of that another 10 minutes for the check.They have only one server for the place, mind you its not a big restaurant but the server is in charge of everything. He hosts, takes orders, and is a busser. Place can get somewhat busy and 1 server can't handle it by themselves. Either train your staff properly, hire more staff, or hire a waiter that is fast and efficient!!! This place is on Canyon Road!!! To receive such poor service is insane!!! read more

I have tried ordering food here 5 times. I have never actually gotten to taste anything. 1. They only accept 2 take-out orders per half hour, and never within an hour of your calling. I have driven by when they said they were at capacity, stopped, liked in the window, and seen a completely empty dining room. 2. They are always out of basic menu items. I have tried ordering fresh rolls (out), duck rolls (out) Buddha dumpling (out - also really stupid name considering they have chicken in them), tom yum soup (out), and green papaya salad (out). The staff is always completely surprised when you react to their insane method...like you're the idiot. Apparently their business model is to serve less than 20 people a night, and only the things they feel like cooking. Not even worth the phone call. read more
