They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here. It came with a tempura shrimp and vegetables that were also on the appetizer. The California rolls were disappointing with poor quality sushi rice that wasn't cohesive. The ingredients were flavorless, and even the wasabi was incredibly bland (how can that even happen?!?). The dab of pickled ginger was good. My waitress was attentive and ensured I got refills, up to the point that I got the bill, and she never bothered to offer a to go cup or refill.
