Here is a small thai restaurant here in bayridge. And I mean small. It's not big at all. You can probably sit 8 people. The food is good here from my experience. I usually get the volcano entree with chicken, and I add beef and shrimp. And substitute the white rice with brown. It's pretty spicey, smells great, and can feed two people easily. I decided to order last night (2.16) because I was craving coconut curry. Growing up, my best friend's mom would make it for us and it was one of the best meals ever! I called in for delivery and they explained they don't have an in-house person, I would have to use an online portal. I could have easily gotten off my couch and walked up the block and saved myself $25 but I just started the gym again and cardio kicked my butt. My husband doesn't have much experience with Thai cuisine and neither do my kids so I decided to just order a bunch of things we could try together. I wound up getting wings, samosas, dumplings, chicken gaeng panang (red coconut curry with peppers and onions), chicken gaeng kept wahh plak (green coconut curry with eggplant, tofu, veg), volcano chicken, and Thailand beef. Here's my take on each item: Wings: 6.5/10 breaded frozen wings, deep fried and coated in a chili sauce. They were good, nothing special. Samosas: 6.5/10 tiny, cheez it sized. Not 6 pieces as advertised. They were flavorful, though. The curry and lentil came through and they were served with a 1 oz ramekin of panang curry for dipping which amped up the flavor. Chicken and veg dumplings: 5/10 average bagged stuff. Served with 2 types of dipping sauce, a soy based and a chili based. They were fine, again, nothing special. Red curry: 9/10 Absolutely delicious! Just enough heat in the broth, not an overwhelming amount of vegetables, and there was enough chicken. The chicken itself was pounded thin and then cornstarch coated. The broth soaked into the coating, turning it translucent and mushy, but it wasn't bad or rubbery. Green curry: 10/10 My husband kept calling God with every bite he took. He said it had great heat, nice sweetness from the coconut milk, some sourness for balance, and he enjoys eggplant and tofu so he was raving about that! Volcano chicken: 10/10 Fantastic! It was thinly pounded chicken sautéed with 3 types of peppers and 2 types of onions. It was seasoned with all spice, garlic, ginger, and a little soy I think. This was fresh and spicy and not as nutty as a traditional stir fry made with sesame oil. There was a slight sweetness instead of the nuttiness. Thailand beef: 8/10 Delicious! Thinly pounded beef with bell peppers and red and white onions in a bbq sauce. When they said bbq sauce, I was expecting like a sweet tomato based or smoky flavored sauce. Nope. This was more of a sweet and slightly sour teriyaki. It was sticky, yet light. I just wish there was more beef in it! The veggies were good, though. The 4 dishes came with a choice of rice. I opted for jasmine because I felt like coconut rice would be overkill. All in all, I'll definitely order again! Me and my kids really enjoyed it and my husband talked about it for hours, and when I told him to shut up about it, he called his friend to tell him about it! This is NOT traditional Thai food. This is actually closer to Chinese food than anything else, and honestly wasn't all that mindblowing for our weekly "Thai Friday." Ordering our usual staples, I was hoping to turn over a new leaf (pun intended) and find a new great Thai spot, but ended up disappointed. We ordered two Thai iced teas, which were pretty standard, and actually a little too sweet for my liking, to accompany our dinners. We got the curry samosas for $6.50 for six pieces, and they were NOT worth it. They seemed to be like something from a Costco appetizer box that you could make yourself at home from the freezer section. The dipping sauce was better than the samosas themselves. I ordered my drunken man noodle with jumbo shrimp, and actually hated that they coated the shrimp in some kind of batter and then used a sauce over it that was definitely giving me Chinese food lunch combo take out vibes. Shrimp is never battered in drunken man noodle, but I did appreciate that the jumbo shrimp was worth the additional $2. Although hubby did like the tenderness of the beef in his pad thai, he really picked at it instead of eating with his usual gusto. It just was too plain with little to no flavor. We ordered delivery from Thai Leaf for the first time the other day, choosing two dishes and an appetizer for the two of us. Delivery was quick (faster than the estimate), the prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were large. The main reason we ordered from Thai Leaf was because I was in the mood for something just like their khao pahd supparot (pineapple coconut fried rice). I love coconut rice, but unfortunately in this case, the flavor of the coconut wasn't as strong as I was hoping it would be. It was like regular pineapple fried rice with just a light hint of coconut that could easily be missed. We also got pad kee mao (drunken noodle) at the regular spicy level. It was fine, but not really very spicy at all, and I didn't like it as much as the pad kee mao we've gotten elsewhere. We also got the steamed khanom jeep (vegetable dumplings), which were okay but kind of bland, and which came with a basil-garlic dipping sauce that didn't really taste like basil or garlic to us. Overall, our dinner was fine, but there are other Thai places in Bay Ridge that we've liked more in the past. We've never eaten there, so no idea what that experience is like. The BEST Thai takeout I have had in Bay Ridge to date. I have never been inside the restaurant, so I can really just go off of the food quality, taste and packing in my review. My usual order is the Tom Yum spicy shrimp soup and Prig Khing with chicken. The soup is always delivered piping hot with generous portions of shrimp veggies and amazing flavor. The Prig Khing Chicken is always enough to feed me for two days over multiple meals. It is delicious and just like the soup arrives fresh, hot and cooked to order at delivery. My favorite thing about this place is that their Seamless allows you to chose your spice level. As someone who lives spicy food, I really like that it is perfectly hot every time. read more

Very average food. I've ordered twice from here on UberEats and it's been pretty unassuming both times. They have a pineapple shrimp curry which I really liked the first time I got. The second time I ordered it, I felt it was watered down and simply spicy rather than flavorful. I would not recommend anything else on the menu aside from that curry, I had the drunken noodles and pad see ew and they were very lacking in flavor, texture, etc... Decided to try this place after my usual thai spot was closed down by the health department. Unfortunately it did not deliver as I'd wished. We started off strong with the beef satay, the beef was very tender, but the peanut sauce took it to the next level. It was fresh and light, you can tell it was made on site. By the time the beef was done we're using pieces of lettuce to soak up every last bit of the sauce. Entree wise- I went with the garlic coconut noodles with chicken, and my wife went for the usual pad see ew. From the moment it arrived, honestly it looked off. By the time I tried a piece, the texture is as off as it looks. It is slightly chewy and I cant even tell if it's too over cooked or under! I thought it was just me, but my wifes was pretty much the same, but a bit better on flavor. There was too much chicken on the plate, seemed like they were trying to get rid of old chicken. Okay, so, this place has the best Thai food in this part of Brooklyn. This is usually a 4.5 star meal on average. This time though, it's a one star... You must be warned: they are SUPER inconsistent about the spice levels. I usually order 5/5 spice because they usually don't hit it with any heat at all. Even at 5/5 it's unlikely to be spicy, maybe a wee touch. Anything from 1 - 4 on the spice scale is probably not spicy. But wait! Tonight I ordered 5/5 spicy on both entrees...and it was inedible. Dante's inferno. My spouse declared his food inedible. I reordered for him, which sucked because I didn't have an extra $15 to throw at this meal because they made it impossible to eat. He said they must have dumped the whole jar in there, that it was beyond human consumption levels. I summoned my entire meditative skill and pushed myself beyond sensation, beyond stimuli and ate about a fifth of my entree. My face burned for a full 20 minutes afterwards. I couldn't eat more than that fifth because it sealed off my stomach like a welding iron. While I waited for the re-order to arrive, I wondered if my stomach would ever reopen so I could put in more of my meal, which I couldn't taste at all because I turned off my tongue and most of my nervous system to be able to eat this meal. I took my night medications and prepared for bed. The food came and my spouse said it was delicious. I didn't try it though, because my stomach finally rejected the food that I'd let past the great guardian tongue, which would have told me by taste that this was not to be consumed - I threw up everywhere. I guess if you've got the willpower to defeat your screaming tongue, your organs will have to finish the fight. Mine lost. I lost $45 and my dinner, but at least it was zero calories. I just wish the restaurant had noticed that I placed a 2nd order and called me to see what was up...a free replacement of the inedible first meal woulda been awesome. Oh well. You win some, you lose some. I will definitely keep ordering from here because it's the best around, but I'd rather have no spice at all than molten lava death burn. Many other Thai restaurants have Chinese food masquerading as "Thai" (and not even good Chinese food at that). If you are craving Thai food in the area, try Thai Leaf! They actually incorporate Thai spices and herbs into the dishes. The food tastes fresh and they don't skimp on the ingredients. Lunch portions are just the right sizes and dinner portions are more than enough. The soup that comes with lunch even has small pieces of shrimp. Whether you order a noodle or rice dish with chicken or shrimp, they always give a proportionate amount of the protein. The Green Curry is spicy, flavorful and delicious. The soups are tasty and worthwhile to order. The Pineapple Fried Rice has large chunks of pineapple and the Calamari Salad has a decent amount of calamari; they are both satisfying. Pad Thai can be dry if not done well. Thai Leaf does Pad Thai great. For dessert, I like the Thai Coconut Cake and Indian Golden Bread. The latter is usually wonderful, but once or twice they over-fried it. Delivery is fast and the delivery man are generally very polite.
