    Curry puffs

I used to love the Thai food restaurant previously housed at this location called My Thai Cafe. I used to live nearby and dine there regularly especially their lunch specials. The Thai salad with peanut dressing, Pad Se ew, Drunken noodle were all consistently delicious. I moved to Shore Road and when ordering food delivery I noticed My Thai Cafe disappeared to oblivion. Then came Come on Thai and was happy to see a new Thai place take over. I took a chance and ordered: curry puffs ( small portion) Thai salad and Pad See Ew; all delicious. Except for tonight... I ordered Pad See Ew with chicken and fried tofu with sweet chili sauce. I also requested a wedge of lime for noodle dish and of course chopsticks. The first helping of Pad See Ew had a fishy undertone taste.. just did. The second helping tasted much better. The real disconnect was the tofu.. as you can see from my picture not golden brown, the texture was a bit rubbery and just blah. Additionally, no lime wedge and no chopsticks. Honestly, what's the point of adding a note in the note section of the order when no one pays attention? Utensils were provided, forks, which were not what I asked for. Honestly this time around rated 3 stars, I bumped it to 4 because my past orders were very tasty. I would love to bump it to 5 but consistency is the key ingredient missing. Come on Thai! * review for delivery only

My friends treated me to dinner this past Friday. I made a group reservation through Google and promptly received a confirmation about our reservation. We arrived on time and saw that a table was reserved for us. We usually get a table even without a reservation but since we were a group of 6, I didn't want to to risk it. We ordered a few appetizers for the table including Golden Calamari, Chicken Satay, and curry puffs. All were delicious. My friend and I ordered Thai iced tea as well. I ordered mine without milk and added lactaid milk I brought from home. I really hope they consider offering this beverage with an alternative dairy option. It beats bringing my own, which I'll continue doing if they don't offer it. We each ordered our own entrees. I got my favorite which was the drunken noodle with shrimp (spice level 1); my husband got the drunken noodle with chicken (spice level 1); my friends ordered drunken noodle with pork belly (spice level 2), pad thai without scallions or onions (spice level 2), basil fried rice with vegetables, and green curry. We all enjoyed our dishes very much. The service was still good even though it got busy after we arrived.

Dropped in here on a Friday night. The restaurant decor is very bright and cozy. I came earlier around 5pm, there was no wait. We were greeted and served quickly. The Thai iced tea is absolutely amazing !!!! I loved it here. The food is also good quality. I throughly enjoyed my pad Thai and crab rangoon. The portions are big and the pricing aligns well with the potions. There was a flag placed in mine I believe because it was vegetarian, and there are plenty of vegetarian options on this menu. Would come dine here again

I came here on a weekday afternoon, the place was empty since it's before the time people usually get off work. We were greeted and seated right away. They have a good amount of things on their menu, so a lot to choose from. We ordered papaya salad, mango salad, green curry, pineapple fried rice, and satay. We all agreed that everything was pretty good, except for the satay. I didn't think it was really well seasoned, on the bland side. But overall it was. Will come back. Also FYI, they have a break 3:45-5pm.

I had ordered online with lackluster results but I'm sure glad I gave an in person visit a try! The waitress was really friendly from the start and attentive despite a lot of tables being occupied. I got the pad kee mao, the BBQ pork and the massaman curry roti. The massaman curry roti was delicious - the curry flavorful and the roti crispy. I just wish there was more of the roti! I ran out before the curry was even halfway done. The pad kee mao tasted way better than when it was delivered! I asked for as spicy as they could make it and I could feel the heat on my tongue. Definitely one of the more serious heat I've had in Thai food. The BBQ pork was great, too! The pork was juicy and flavorful. I ordered because I was really curious what Thai BBQ might be. Not sure if this was authentic in any way, but the dish reminded me of Viet porkchops quite a bit. No complaints here.

The food is so good! I love thai food and this place really hits the spot! Everything is so tasty and great service. The drunken noodle is on point and the green curry is delicious! Everything is so yummy, I will be back!

The restaurant opened under new management in February 2025 and has been a welcome addition to the variety of ethnic restaurants on the street. The menu has a nice mix of traditional and creative choices. I had the seafood/chicken pad thai and was favorably impressed - several broiled shrimp and fried calamari complemented the chicken in a sweet sauce that was just what I was looking for after a long bike ride on a hot day. In the short time I was there, several delivery drivers picked up orders, several parties were seated and the phone rang multiple times with orders, attesting to the popularity of the menu. I'd also highlight the friendly, attentive vibe of the owner Pop, who is genuinely concerned that diners have the best possible experience. No liquor license or BYOB at the moment, but that is expected to change soon. Hoping to return later this week with friends who have just moved to nearby Bensonhurst.

Simply lemonade that was absolutely amazing.

Great food, terrific service! I love a place where my kids will try new things. Try the iced teas, lemonades and multiple apps.

    Roti with Massaman curry sauce.

I was that dummy who unknowingly walked in here thirty minutes before closing. Nonetheless, I was greeted and seated with outmost warmth. What I got: Massaman Curry with fried tofu: I have read some reviews that say the curry is too watery for their taste, but, as a fan of thick curry myself, authentic Massaman curry isn't suppose to be thick. The spices were there; the veggies--carrot, potato, and onions--were crisp; and the fried tofu was perfectly cooked. 5/5. Roti with Massaman sauce: I love roti. Some places do not know how to prepare roti, either burning it or simply reheating it. This roti is...perfection. Pair that with the fantastic Massaman curry sauce and you have one tasty appetizer. I would return just for this. Delightful! 5/5. I'll be returning to try the rest of the curries and some noodles!

Wow wow wow!....... Literally "THE BEST" first time having drunken noodles and let me tell you it won't be my last, it's cooked with love, purrfection, actually felt I was in Thailand eating this food The curry puffs were very soft, flaky tasty!! The fried rice OmG definitely the best I've ever had, the right portion sizes. Friend my service, clean was surprised they were rated as a B. But nonetheless best Thai I've had.

Some of the best Thai food in NYC. Everything is very flavorful. Very cozy spot for indoor dining, good for couples or groups. I'm very fond of their crispy pork and Chicken with Basil Sauce.

As soon as we arrived, we were escorted to a table. I've noticed that this restaurant seemed very authentic. They had dishes that I've never seen at other Thai spots. Their chefs are also from Central & Northeastern part of Thailand. So, they are cooking from their respective regions. The presentation of their dishes are all aesthetically pleasing. We decided to share a small plate of HOR MOK This tasted almost like a crab puree into a spoon sized portion. There's 7 pieces in one order. It was recommended to eat it all in one bite. It was great. Texture was very smooth in your mouth. Surprisingly, it had a spicy kick (but nothing too intense). I personally decided to try KHAO PAD MUN NEUR. This is a pricey dish, but very filling! It was said to have 2 pepper spice level to it, but I personally didn't find it very spicy. The rib eye was cooked just the way I like it - medium well (still with some redness in the inner portion). The meat had a perfectly charred/grilled exterior, but very soft to chew. This meat was probably the best part of the dish. Only slight complaint is that the rice was very saucy (almost a bit too much for my preference). But overall, I did enjoy it and was able to finish it, but left super full! Overall, I think it was worth a try. Their service is great. The servers are super great of making sure that your water is always topped up. They explained the recommended way to eat certain dishes. They were able to answer any questions that we had.

Lunch in Brooklyn during in-between meetings of my professional duties of a Wednesday afternoon…read moresummons Thai cuisine. Pad Kee Mao (aka Drunken Noodles), chicken $15.00 Stir-fried flat rice noodle, bamboo shoots, garlic, basil, fresh chili, onion, carrot, string bean, bell pepper, long hot chili The flat rice noodle quantity was sufficient, but minimal and there were too much onion, insufficient string bean, two paucity pieces of carrot. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. Samyan is a Thai cafe located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, NYC and accessible via MTA NYC Transit C local train at Clinton-Washington subway station. My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

Spicy food, in case you didn't know, connotes authenticity. Call it suffering for beauty, in a culinary wrapper. Ugly Baby took this S&M theater to its logical conclusion in all regards: tuck it in an inaccessible corner of South Brooklyn; use tiny chairs and brusquely inform diners they have an hour start to finish at their table. The more inconvenient it was, the better. I held my applause after my single visit to Ugly Baby, which closed amidst wails and lamentation last year from people who liked rough treatment. But something drew me back to this reincarnation, started by the same people. Maybe, I thought, they'd found a way to bring us that magnetic authenticity, and hold the ball gags and chain flails? The answer is no. I should have known from the name alone: another mysterious two-word phrase (both of whose words again end in -y) that sounds like it could be an overly literal translation of some ineffable Thai concept. I should have known when it opened in the same godforsaken corner of ... what is that? Gowanus? I should have known from the protracted negotiations for a suitable table that followed when my husband, mom and I arrived punctually for our 5:30 reservation and were primly informed we'd be squeezing onto a two top, then were refused an obviously empty three-top ("it's reserved"....oh you mean by a party of three with a reservation like us?), and then grudgingly seated at a four-top, half of which was literally in the kitchen. I should have known after being apprised that "you have one hour at the table." I should have known when there were no appetizers or desserts, and only two vegetarian entrees. This is the same thing as before. We're so back, baby. The mushroom curry, with its single fire emoj, was nowhere near the spiciest thing on the menu, but gosh was it still spicy. How do they make food with such complex flavors that's still hot enough to have emanated from the bowels of hell? It has to be one of the best curries I've had. It's a talent, special even, but it could easily coexist without Hungry Thirsty's other downsides. But I think all those inconveniences and discomforts are the point. They serve to reinforce the specialness of the special parts, counterintuitively increasing your mental investment in internally extolling Hungry Thirsty's virtues. They are to each element what spice is to food: it hurts, and you're proud that it hurts. It all adds up to the second coming of Ugly Baby, and why wouldn't it? Enough people liked being slapped around; maybe they felt like they deserved it. You know if that's you or not.

Food was very tasteful! The ambiance was clean and vibey, very comfortable. The service was quick…read moreand efficient, since we came in the door until we left. My first time here and it was a great experience. It is Valentine's Day and we left with a cute little gift from them, beautiful gesture. Definitely coming back :)

Had been passing this spot for years and finally had the chance to stop in…read more Host was polite and quickly sat us without a reservation - we wanted to sit outside and there was room thankfully. Wait staff was attentive to dietary needs, exemptions and ensured our request was followed to a T. Ordered some Khao Kriab Pak Mor (dumplings) to start along with a pair of mocktails. And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.
