Extremely rude and unprofessional owner. I did not receive my order. The owner refused to serve me after I called to follow up on a complaint about the poor customer service I experienced the previous day. When I asked why no one had returned my call, she responded, "Why should I call you back?" She then told me that I "always have a problem," said I should "go somewhere else," and told me not to come back. I have been a loyal customer for over a year and have ordered from this restaurant consistently. During that time, I've experienced multiple issues, including receiving undercooked salmon, spoiled Thai tea, and delivery orders being thrown on the ground instead of handed to me as requested in my delivery instructions. On one occasion, the food spilled because it was thrown on the floor rather than being handed to me as the delivery person was still holding the elevator open. After my most recent poor experience, I called to follow up because no one had returned my previous complaint the day before and there was an issue today with my order being undelivered. Instead of addressing my concerns, the owner responded, "Why should I call you back?" She then told me I "always have a problem," said I should "go somewhere else," and told me not to come back. I have ordered many times in person as well as through Grubhub and Uber Eats, and each time I have spent over $30 on my orders. I have even brought friends to this restaurant because I genuinely enjoyed the food, despite the lack of good customer service. As a Black customer, I left feeling humiliated and treated with hostility. I wasn't looking for an argument I simply wanted my concerns addressed after being a loyal customer for over a year. Instead, I was met with disrespect and refused service. This was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had, and I will never order from this restaurant again. I also asked the young girl yesterday have she received complaints from others based on deliveries being canceled consistently due to delivery service being listed as still available for delivery after 9pm she stated yes so I know I'm not the only one with an issue here. But I can ensure you the owner have not spoken to others like this because there would be more negative reviews.

I came here for lunch with my family. They have a good lunch deal for $13 (appetizer or soup and entrée). I ordered the chicken satay appetizer and the khao soi entrée (egg noodles in curry broth and chicken). The portions were large even for the lunch deal. The chicken satay was a bit dry but the satay sauce was tasty. The khao soi was delicious. The curry broth was rich but I wish they had the crispy noodles on top. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, it was a solid Thai place and the lunch deal was very affordable.

A friend of mine suggested this place for dinner. I haven't had Thai food in a while so I decided to give it a try. It's a small/cozy restaurant with a few two seater tables. We got Thai iced teas--I'll be honest, I've had better. We decided to share the pad Thai and the pork belly fried rice. The food was really good, the pork belly was cooked to perfection. The service was quick. We didn't have to wait long for the meal. I would definitely try some other dishes.

Got recommended to try Ricepot's Pad Thai with pork belly from the cashier, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The pork belly was tender with a perfect balance of crisp and delightful tangy texture, and the Pad Thai itself was packed with flavor -- sweet, not overly tender but has a little smoky, and not overly greasy like some places tend to serve it. The portion size was generous and plated beautifully. You can tell they care about both presentation and quality here. It's a cozy little spot in Bensonhurst right off the 20th Ave train stop, and while it's casual, the flavors are anything but basic. Definitely feels like a hidden gem if you're looking for a modern approach for good Thai food. Service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. The menu has a lot of variety too -- from noodles to curry to house specialties -- so I'll definitely be back to explore more. If you're in the area and craving Thai, Ricepot is a no-brainer.

I ordered take out here and tried the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and green curry. Total was about $50. Portion size for the curry was good and the green curry was very delicious. The green curry came with jasmine rice and has the perfect amount of spice and texture was creamy. The salad was okay but they put a chunk of cabbage in there. Why did they do that? It's a papaya salad not cabbage salad. The drunken noodles were burnt and too salty. Very disappointed at the quality of food I received.

Such a great value meal when you come for their lunch specials. It's a nice Thai place in south bk that offers delicious yet affordable Thai dishes. They don't skimp out on flavor or portion. I would say the chicken wings you can skip, but the satay was decent. Their main dishes are the best as both the Tom yum noodle soup and Khao Soi were delicious.

BLUF: An over-emphasis on salty and sweet flavors. Our first visit to Rice Pot Cookhouse could have been better. We ordered from the lunch special menu, which offers one appetizer and one entrée for $12 ($13.07 with tax): - Pad See Ew, with chicken: There was so much salt and sugar in this one dish that we stopped eating it after a few bites. - Khao Soi, with chicken: Over-salted, good flavors overall, could use green vegetables (pickled doesn't count) to temper the flavors. Our dish came with slices of slightly overcooked white meat instead of the typical chicken leg, and had ramen noodles instead of egg noodles. - Chicken Skewers: The meat was soft and tender, and the peanut sauce was good. - Edamame: Typical. Service was pleasant. They checked on us and refilled our water. There is a small unisex bathroom in the basement, down a steep flight of stairs. Suggested tips are based on post-tax subtotals and start at 18%.

Honestly stopped in here to pass some time with a beverage but the food at another table smelled so good, I decided to order the Salmon. It was perfectly prepared and the curry was memorable. a balance of Thai flavors with a bit of a kick. Would like to go back and try more of the menu.

Thai restaurant in Bensonhurst which is decent and affordable. The service is quick and efficient. A causal restaurant which you can enjoy reasonable food and price. The decoration is simple and display food photos on the wall so that you know what to expect. We ordered drunken noodles which is a bit salty for my liking. Classic Phad Thai is pretty good. Next time will try pork belly basket.

Food was excellent , as well as good service . Not a fine dining experience . Seems like more take out although they did have several tables and a counter I think. We were comfortable eating In however. The dishes we had were delicious and a good portion . One of the best I'd have to say! Would return

Our group of 4 started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a few appetizers to share, namely: Som tum papaya salad and dumplings curry. For the main entree, my eyes caught the attention of clay pot mix-fried rice with shrimp, chicken, sweet sausage, and my partner chose shrimp pad thai. Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here; our food came in timely fashion, and the customer service is good as well, but it's probably not your place if you are seeking a more authentic Thai-style cooking.

PLEASE get the mango stick rice cocktail omg it was gone in like 5 sips because it was so good. The tuna ceviche was so refreshing and the sauce had a little kick to it which I absolutely loved! It was like a sprinkle of Thai on a classic tuna ceviche. Note the taro chips are a little thicker than a typical chip! The pork jowl wasn't as crispy as I expected but it was still flavorful and the portion size was huge, considering how it was an appetizer. We got pineapple lychee crispy duck, crab fried rice, and kana crispy pork over rice as our entree. ALL WERE SO GOOD! The curry for the pineapple lychee crispy duck was so creamy and flavorful, with the duck portion being huge and being the perfect texture. I loved that it was crispy and didn't get soggy fast in the curry. The crab fried rice was top tier as there were SO MANY HUGE CRAB PIECES!! You can definitely tell that it had flavors of seafood/crab.. they did not skimp out! And the kana crispy pork over rice was huge portion as well, but note that it was a big strong/saltier than the other dishes. For dessert, the pandan coconut pudding custard was SO yummy. Loved that every table had fresh flowers; you can tell they really care about the little details. We ordered quite a bit and honestly, everything was on point: · Lychee Thai Iced Tea & Yuzu Pop - both refreshing and not too sweet (huge plus for me since I don't have a big sweet tooth). · Moo Ping - solid start to the meal. · Salmon Mango (GF) - the salmon was cooked through (which I asked for), and the mango salad underneath was light and tangy. The sweet fruit with the savory fish worked way better than I expected. · Pineapple Fried Rice - came with shrimp, nice wok aroma, and that perfect sweet-tangy pineapple kick. · Pineapple Lychee Crispy Duck (GF) - duck skin was nice and crispy, and the coconut-based sauce with lychee and pineapple kept it from feeling heavy or greasy. · Branzino Chili Lime (GF) - came out piping hot, classic Thai-style sour broth that paired perfectly with the fish. No fishy taste at all, and the texture was tender. Even the drinks and dessert weren't overly sweet, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, really enjoyed the meal here -- flavors are solid, service was friendly, and you can feel the effort they put into the experience. Definitely coming back!

I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. If utensils are gold then the interior cafe should contain these "gaudy" feature extensive gold elements, including gilded moldings and furniture. Peony rose are very simply and made pretty table centerpiece decorations. Takeout menu and business cards are available for grabs. I did received my sales receipt. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 22% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. The restaurant is tiny, so be sure to make a reservation. As a lover of spicy food, the spiciness in the dishes really brought out such a great flavor. Since my friend didn't eat as spicy, we found a happy medium getting just slightly spicy dishes which were all fantastic. We ordered the Khao Soi ($33) and Pla Tod Nam Pla ($40). The khao soi wasn't too spicy, especially since the broth has a creaminess and the spicies are on the side before mixing, which you can exclude. The chicken was so tender, but did come with bone so this can be trickier to share. Then the pla tod really surprised me, but I can definitely see why it's the best seller. It is a fried branzino with a marinated fish sauce which goes so nicely with all the crunch. There are a few remaining pieces of bone, so be careful. The fish had a nice balance of fish meat and crunchy skin. If you're looking for a unique Thai spot, this is it. Also, perfect spot for spicy lovers too. They also offer a huge selection of alcohol.

My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.

Chiangmai Diner is the most unique Thai restaurant I've encountered. My first experience was…read morethrough a Yelp Elite event where we were generously welcomed to a wide variety of items on the menu. I enjoyed the food and the event so much that I've returned and told others to go as well. What I like the most is that Chiangmai's expansive menu showcases aspects of Thai cuisine that you're probably not getting at your neighborhood spot. Many items are Northern Thai style dishes. I'd never had Khao Soi before coming here and I was blown away. The chiangmai sausage is also delicious. The roasted duck curry boasts deep flavor while also maintaining the crispiest duck skin. For appetizers, we started with the crispy salmon belly bites and the moo ping. Frying salmon is risky, but the fattiness of the belly keeps it from drying out. The moo ping is nicely grilled and served with a sweet sauce. You just can't go wrong ordering meat on a stick. As an entree, I tried the Gaeng Awm Nur, a soup-like beef dish served with a side of sticky rice. Our server had been really nice and welcoming, so I felt ok asking how I should eat my meal. She advised that I make a ball of some sticky rice with my hand, mash it a bit, and then dip it into the soup. Thai food achievement unlocked! Now I know what to do next time I'm served sticky rice. There's so much on the menu it can be hard to choose. This is encouragement to go with someone else who enjoys food so you can choose things to share! You won't be disappointed and in fact may find that your regular Thai spots could step up their game in comparison.
