We found this Thai restaurant in Mount Pleasant thanks to Yelp, and like many other reviewers we were pleasantly surprised to come across such an authentic spot right off the highway. Just a heads up, the entrance comes up fast so be sure to slow down as you approach or you might miss it. The inside is decorated in a cute and authentic way, the space feels clean, and the service was warm and welcoming. The food itself was fresh, healthy, and very enjoyable. Personally, I found the flavors a little on the mild side. Maybe my palate is just used to more heavily seasoned Thai dishes. The one thing I missed was chili oil paste, which makes me think others might also find the spice level a bit light. That said, it is still a gem of a restaurant with authentic vibes and a very pleasant experience overall. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area. read more

Since I'm already on a reviewing spree, I'd love to add another favorite Thai restaurant to the mix--Thai Lanna, a place that truly delivers every time. They offer a wonderful selection of authentic Thai dishes, from flavorful pad thais to rich, aromatic curries. We often start with the Thai Lanna Palace sampler, which features a variety of appetizers that are beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. Their Sbai shrimp is another favorite--especially when dipped in their sweet and sour sauce. And of course, their pad thais are bestsellers for a reason: consistently delicious and full of flavor. I'm also a big fan of their fried rice, and their mango sticky rice is the perfect way to end the meal--a classic Thai dessert done right. If you haven't tried this restaurant yet, it's definitely worth adding to your must-visit list. The owner is incredibly kind and always takes a moment to chat with customers, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. My family had lunch here on Saturday. Very unexpected that a town of this size would have a Thai restaurant. We were skeptical but decided to give it a try. The decor/building is pretty dated. Stand alone building with plenty of parking. The food took a very, very long time to get to the table. If you want a quick meal, this is not the place for you. The food was actually good to very good! We had: Fried Spring Rolls - Very good. Good flavors and well fried. Vermicelli Noodle Soup - Good broth flavor, mix of vegetables. Tom Yum - My wife had this and said it was one of the best versions of this she's had. Pad Thai - I thought it was good, my wife thought it was okay. A bit lacking in flavor. Pad Ped - Our first time trying this dish. We had it with shrimp. Good spicy, coconut curry flavor. Stopped in for lunch today, and on a Sunday we were happily surprised to see an actual lunch menu. Although the amount of food we got could have fooled me for the lunch menu part, but the price was a lunch menu price, which was really a very fair price. I had the red curry with chicken, and it was actually pretty good, over the rice, had a lot of veggies in it, and the spices were just right. The complimentary soup we got beforehand was a clear raw soup with some veggies in it and it also was very good. Would definitely look for this place again if we're passing through the area again. So my tip for the day here is to not let them know that they're serving dinner portions as lunch portions read more

I am very disappointed in this place. Stopped in last night and waited and waited, finally decided to seat ourselves after never being acknowledged. Finally waiter comes and takes our order and he is very friendly but appears to be the only person in the restaurant at this point. We waited over an hour and never saw our food, even after me asking him about it. In the mean time, another larger party comes in, (maybe family?) comes in and is wined and dined w so many appetizers and entrees it's unbelievable! We wait hoping our food will come after theirs, even though we've been there longer. As they are FINISHING their food we decide it's time to just go. This was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a really long time. I see other similar reviews. Something needs fixed. Also the window blinds by our table were so disgusting and black w dirt it turned my stomach. Made me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I'm sorry, I never leave reviews but this place needs some work. The Thai places in Tyler are so much better and sparkling clean. Food arrives in less than 10 minutes even w a large group. Then we ordered spring rolls, we meant to order the fresh spring rolls but forgot to say that, so we got the regular fried ones and were not disappointed! I asked the waiter what his favorites were and he said the pad Thai and the yellow curry fried rice. I got the yellow curry fried rice and it was amazing. It had such a distinct flavor-reminded me of Indian food (which I also love). My friend had the pad Thai and liked it but she added some sriracha sauce because she wanted it spicier. My husband had the Krapraw with beef-I tasted it-it was great and such a different flavor from mine. My friend's husband had the Pad Yellow Curry-he really liked it! We may not have arrived on an evening when they could put their best foot forward. Several things we wanted on the menu were either unavailable or no longer offered. Explanation was that the new menu has not arrived. Wait staff was earnest - sign as we entered asked us to forgive as they were understaffed and our waiter turned out to be new - and tried hard to make us feel welcome. Nice decor and music set created an environment that made us feel like we were in any number of Thai restaurants I've eaten. Food was just okay. I had the fresh rolls and the lettuce was overwhelming and I ended up picking out the shrimp. I also had Tom Kah soup that tasted...off. Not bad mind you, but not like any other version of this that I ever had (including in Thailand). While this was advertised as the best Thai food around, came to find it was the ONLY Thai food around. And having had good Thai food, I cannot recommend this place. read more

Here we are, some five years after our first visit. Dining here is a commitment for us since its a 140-mile round trip. Judy and I shared the outstanding Shrimp Sbai appetizer and then ordered her usual Cashew Chicken. All these years I haven't been able to get past the luscious Pad Thai, but this time I did. We're just passing by the area so we're not familiar with it at all, I feel like it's always a hit or miss with Asian restaurants. On our way back up north from San Antonio, escaping Hurricane Harvey, just off I-30, about 50 minutes west of Texarkana (TX or AR, doesn't really make much difference), an exit with a couple of gas stations and a couple of other businesses is Thai Lanna, one of the best Thai restaurants we have experienced. We spotted it on Yelp because it had been rated very high. We were also getting tired of BBQ and Fried Chicken - so this was a nice departure. When we walked in, e we were greeted with nice decor and a friendly welcome and shown to our seats. We browsed the menu and, even on Sunday, were able to order from the lunch menu. We quickly decided to go with a couple of our favorite dishes: Spicy Red Curry Shrimp for me and Mild Green Curry Shrimp for my wife. Each of these came with a cup of Vermicelli Noodle Soup. The heat spice levels were about what we wanted and the taste reminded us of the flavors we experienced when we were in Thailand. While we were enjoying our food, the Thai chef came out to see how we liked what she had made and we told her we thought it truly captured the essence of great Thai cooking and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was also excellent (thanks, Kanyasiri) making this stop a home run! So if you find yourself traveling in this part of I-30, do yourself a big favor and stop for lunch or dinner at Thai Lanna. You will be glad you did. read more

Service was fabulous but kitchen staff is slow. This is the 3rd time I have came and all 3 times Felisha took wonderful care of my group. However on this visit an old Asian lady was screaming the whole time we was eating. We will not be back horrible experience other than the great waitress.
