Starting with a disclaimer...lots of people have lots of tastes. When it comes to BBQ...Racks isn't for my taste palette. They did provide moist (point) cut at requested. But the flavor from the bark was overpowering (lots of pepper) and the meat didn't have any taste. The sausage was okay, but didn't taste like a bbq sausage...more like a breakfast sausage in the form of a sausage you would expect to get at a bbq place. Lots of flavor but not what I was expecting. Sides were okay...but nothing to write home about either! Noodles were overcooked, for an up charge item it was underwhelming. Price was a bit high too for the food. read more

First time here. Was invited by a friend to listen to live music. I figured I'd grab a bite to eat on top of the $5 door charge. Unsure if the artist gets it or the company. I ordered chopped brisket sandwich, mac & cheese, & potato salad. Because I'm very particular about my potato salad, I asked if it were a yankee style mayo based or southern style mustard base. She laughed and assured me it was southern style mustard based. I tipped her at the counter, generously, 33% cost of my meal. She brought me my food. Everything was served in to go containers. Yeah, if I eat in somewhere then I don't want styrofoam & plastic ware. --Brisket sandwich was very good. Small bun. Plenty of meat. It balanced itself out. --Mac & cheese was very good. --Potato salad. Disgusting. I first noticed it was a pale, pale yellow so I knew it wasn't southern style. I couldn't figure out if it had mustard, mayo or both. I'd go as far it to say that it didn't really have either. Maybe just a touch of mustard for color and it tasted like I just turned up a jar of sweet pickle juice to drink. It was so gross. Not dill pickle juice... Sweet pickle juice or pickle flavored sugar. It was gaggingly sweet. Southern potato salad not only has a lot of mustard, but also dill pickle. If she would've told me the truth about the potato salad, I would've gotten something else. Lost stars for the misleadings of a menu item. read more

Nothing wrong with the quality or taste of the food. My husband got a two meat plate with brisket and sausage. I got a baked potato with brisket. The only issue was the portion size was too small for the price. And they charged an up charge for baked beans as a premium side. Baked beans are a basic bbq side, not premium. But it all tasted fine and probably would have got 5 stars if they served a little bit more. read more

Me and hubby had the salmon with our choice of sides, cole slaw, potato salad, mac and cheese with some jalapeños too! Yummmmy! You gotta get here early to enjoy a baked potato, they go fast! Very friendly staff. Great place to eat in Pittsburg. A little side note, salmon is only available in the Axe area, when we got there that area was closed. Sunday morning drive from Tyler to Northwest Arkansas and I needed some grub. Thank goodness I found Racks BBQ! Wow, those ribs are good! I mean... Tried Racks BBQ after seeing it on Yelp. Ordered a rack of ribs, chopped brisket w/fat and coleslaw all to go. The meat on the ribs so tender it falls off the bone, the fine chopped brisket was so juicy and the coleslaw like homemade. The people were very friendly and restaurant was well kept. My son and I were in the area, from Minnesota, for the fishing. We struggle in Minnesota to find good BBQ. We went by in the morning and the had the smokers fired up, and right there we knew that we were stopping on the way back. The menu was terrific, and the people were friendly and helpful. We both had a brisket and sausage combo, and it was put together quickly, with great sides. Everything was terrific, and if I lived in the area, I would certainly be a regular. As soon as you walk in this place is very nice and rustic inside menu was great me and my dad ordered the ribs and the 2 meat plat the ribs were sliding off the bone. We watched the lady prepare the pulled pork and it shredded like butter! And the brisket was tender, fatty, juicy it was all you would want with a nice brisket. Also the ribs were exceptionable, I got the half rack and after 2 out of the 6 ribs you are stuffed they were so juicy and meaty. Don't get me started on the potato salad it was chunky and really the perfect consistency. In my opinion Racks bbq is highly recommended read more
