Touch of Soul
Tanya B.

Omg! The touch of soul was amazing! The service was great. Good food & good people equals my happy place.

Brisket and sausage plate

Nothing wrong with the quality or taste of the food. My husband got a two meat plate with brisket and sausage. I got a baked potato with brisket. The only issue was the portion size was too small for the price. And they charged an up charge for baked beans as a premium side. Baked beans are a basic bbq side, not premium. But it all tasted fine and probably would have got 5 stars if they served a little bit more.

Ribeye & baked potato

I always have to stop here when I'm in town. The ribeye is always so good as well as anything I get! The employees treat you like family & are always helpful.

THE BEST LOCAL BBQ. I brought family here during a visit and no one left hungry. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. The staff is the nicest. Be careful with their Daiquiris, those things will sneak up on you

Travelers along Interstate 30 can get Texas barbecue in just about every town between Texarkana and…read moreDallas so what sets them apart? If they can't smoke brisket, they wouldn't be in business so for me, it's the sides. That's what made Jojack's special for me. Yes, you can get beans. Everyone has beans. But not everyone offers broccoli salad or sweet bacony Brussels sprouts. Jojack's are delicious! Also, a tip for out-of-towners: the best thing about Texas barbecue is that brisket. I used to try to be "healthy" by ordering smoked chicken and I was always disappointed. If you want chicken, get fried somewhere else. If you want barbecue, get the brisket here (to be fair, the hubs also liked Jojack's sausage options). To be "healthy," I opted for brisket-topped loaded baked potato. The potato was baked perfectly, and even the skin was yummy. I loaded my potato myself at the condiment bar so I got exactly what I wanted (plus some tasty pickled onions AND barbecue sauce!) The decor is cute and clean with corrugated tin accents and lots of eat-in tables. They appeared to be busy at the drive-through so that's an option if you're in a hurry. Servers were friendly and efficient. Oh! And they have a wide selection of bottled beers (for your passengers at least!)

The people at the counter who greeted us were super friendly and thankful that we stopped by on our road trip from Dallas. We ordered fatty brisket, ribs, sausage, a texas twinkie, the illustrious Brussels sprouts, tater tot casserole, and potato salad. Everything was really good. The brisket was smoked nicely getting a really good render. I like it all little saltier and more spiced personally, but it was really good. The ribs seem like the house specialty. They are spare ribs and have a really good glaze on them. Fall off the bone and perfectly seasoned. The sausage was fine. All the sides were excellent. Brussels are about as good as they can get. The potato salad was creamy and rich. The tater tot casserole was interesting. Kinda pasty but still really good. I thought it needed some crunch but that could be because the way they hot hold it. We will be back every time we are in sulfur springs. This is top notch Texas BBQ!

YES! Go, eat and be merry!…read more The Flying Pig sandwich is REALLY as good as they say, it's pork and turkey chopped and mixed together. They have different kinds of bbq sauces you can add on top and they have a steaming pot of chili waiting for you included when you dine-in. Their sweet tea is so good, btw! For sides, we ordered the smoked cabbage (it has sausage in it, so theres a bit of heat to it, super good!), and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is delicious as well!! You can't go wrong with whatever you order. The servers are friendly and helpful! Thank yall for a superb meal! A big thumbs up!! The meat is juicy and tender! Absolutely perfect! If you want to try the barbecue sauces - truly I recommend all of them. Each one is very different from the others. If you like traditional barbecue sides, Dubya's will surprise you! The smoked cabbage is insane! So much flavor, and a little bit of kick! The green beans are marinated in flavor! And the house pinto beans are good enough to make a meal out of! They also serve excellent fresh sweet tea!

The restaurant is very simple. There is nothing fancy about the ambience at all. It's just downhome country. You order at the register and then grab a table. We got there just before the after church Sunday rush so we were able to find a table easily. Shortly after we got our food, the line was out the door. The food came very quickly. They call your name and bring the food to the table. I had a two meat platter with turkey and brisket. The turkey was tender and just slightly smoky. The brisket was excellent. I forgot to ask for lean like I usually do but the brisket was not overly fatty. The meat was very smoky, very tender, and very flavorful. The portion was generous for $18. I would guess half a pound of each meat (?) The sauce on the table is a bit sweet and tangy. The BBQ beans were excellent. The potato salad was good but needed salt. We all enjoyed our meal. Even the kid, who is super picky, ate a bunch of brisket. It was a good choice and I definitely would eat here again if we came to Jefferson City.

This place looks fun from the outside and a bit dicey on the inside, but the line told me I was in the right place. It was almost back to the door when I walked in, but it moved quickly. Seating is pretty limited, especially for a party of one or two as most tables have 5-6 places. Everybody was so friendly. I think I could've asked to sit down if I wanted to, but I went ahead and got my order to go. The menu seems pretty reasonable with baskets and platters between $10 and $18. A lot of reviews seem to talk about the Swamp Fries, so I had to get a small order of those. I also got the sliced Brisket sandwich with a side of onion rings. The brisket barbecue is served dry but has a good smoke right on it and good flavor by itself, but they give you plenty of barbecue sauce to add to it. That's exactly what I did along with some pickles to make my sandwich taste just right . The Swamp Fries are wonderful with fresh FF, smothered in chopped brisket, shredded cheese, and sliced jalapeños. There's no way I could've eaten a large so I'm glad even though it was just two dollars more I decided to opt for the smaller portion and still had leftovers to take home. Overall, really good food definitely worth a stop in.
