The restaurant's food is superior. Since 1998, China Cafe has been serving great food. The owners have made improvements throughout the years, such as replacing styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery with china plates and metal forks, knives, and spoons. The owners are kind and wonderful people. About 2002, their biggest upgrade came in building a new restaurant. When Bo and Ging are not busy cooking, they will come out and treat you like family. read more

This place was pretty good for Chinese in Daingerfield. I had the Mandarin Chicken. It was very garlickly, but otherwise pretty decent. Could have used some vegetables in the stir fry. I wish their combos came with soup instead of sweet and sour chicken, but it is what it is, so I ordered an egg roll. The lo mein plate was huge. read more

Service is incredibly terrible workers don't wait on the table as they should at night or in the evening. The food is great. not a friendly place to go inside to eat the owners are always fighting and are allowing underage workers to smoke in the workplace. read more

Reliably good food and would be much higher star rating if you could count on them to be open They have plenty of tables but ir seems if they "get busy" , they randomlu close. Sitting in dining room only 5 out of 20 tables occupied then the owner walked over to the front door and locked it yet left the "open" sign on above the door. We have commented on why they leave the windows blacked out with blinds in the evening because it makes it appear they are closed ar night. Now I know. They came look open with guests and randomly close at 7:17pm (outside of posted hours) whenever they want it guests can see inside. This isn't the first time we have seen this behavior. We have tried to call in orders during posted hours and they were closed. This is really bad business. Otherwise it's a gem in a town where only fast food is available, with the notable exception is the coffee shop downtown (Mug shots ) that actually serves lunch and dinner. read more

Decent food, but prices increase often. High dollar for mid-grade food. They use rice for most dishes when noodles are more appropriate.

I ordered the low mein chicken and I regret my decision. The food was bland and unseasoned, I didn't even want to eat it at all. Terrible food quality. read more

Staple restaurant in Daingerfield with super sweet employees/owners!

All of the windows are tinted and/or covered which makes the place seem really closed in, but the place itself is clean with friendly staff. Egg Drop soup is good, fairly plain, but comes in a good size bowl (not a tiny cup) for a buck fifty. Entree came out within minutes and I could hear them cooking it after I ordered. Entree served on a Styrofoam plate with plastic cutlery a little flimsy, but soup came with a metal spoon in a ceramic bowl - go figure. There is an outside seating area in front, but no tables or chairs. Combo meals come with rice, egg roll, and sweet and sour chicken - nice touch, and good tasting. Nothing fancy or amazingly spectacular, but better than most small town Chinese restaurants. I was driving through the area and found this in a list of restaurants - definitely worth a visit if you're jonesing for some Chinese food in the Avinger to Daingerfield area. China Cafe is located in my hometown and one of the few places to eat in our small town. I can vouch for the food - it's so good. The food is made from scratch and so are all of the sauces, everyday. The food is fresh, delicious and the price doesn't break the bank. A few of my personal fave dishes are House Fried Rice (substitute shrimp for pork), Shrimp Lomein, Seaseme Chicken, Triple Fragrance, and their egg rolls. read more

China Cafe is an amazing Chinese restaurant. They make all of their food from fresh ingredients that makes their food fresh, and great. The take out food was bad. The chicken fried rice was a very dark brown and looked left over from hours before. No flavor except black pepper. I was told it was suppose to be that way due to being made with soy sauce. But there was no salt flavor only black pepper flavor. I thought someone dumped a bottle of black pepper in it. The pork lo mien was also without flavor. The only half way good dish out of the entire order was the chicken lo mien. But it also had no flavor either. At least the chicken was moist. The won tons were fried dark brown and very hard. We have had lunch there several times since moving to Daingerfield. The lunches were good but this dinner was bad. Good God, I never knew Chinese food could be so bad!! Daughter got the Teriyaki Chicken that was, I swear, deep fried. Dry without a smidgen of sauce. I made the mistake of ordering the beef Egg Foo Yong. Three hockey pucks that may have been eggs at one time, covered in copious amounts of thick, brown goop. We literally ate about three bites and packed the rest to feed the dogs. But on second thought, I don't hate my dogs that much. Stay VERY FAR AWAY. read more

This is not a buffet restaurant, but Chinese cafes don't have to be buffet-style to be good. The food here is great and the menu has a very large variety. The only problem with the China Cafe is the paper plates and plasticware. Really good food should be served on real dishes and flatware. This place is pretty awesome. It's like a Chinese version of Tex-Mex. It's Chinese food for small town Texas, and we like it like that! Their chicken chow mein was my favorite when they were in their old location, but somehow it seems that when they moved, they forgot how to make it delicious. It's still pretty decent. I'm just not a fan of the goopy sauce it's in, it used to be much drier. Their sweet and sour chicken is now my dish of choice. Soooooo goooooood. Their sesame chicken is also very good. I wish they would upgrade to real plates and cups. They have a beautiful new building, and tacky styrofoam plates and plastic forks. It's usually freezing cold in here, so bring a jacket. read more

I have eaten here several times. Helpings are large. Food has always been delicious. Just wish they served fried tempura veggies. Staff are very nice and attentive and place is clean. Never many cars there but that's because alot of folks call in orders to take home. read more

I've eaten Chinese quinine in cities across this nation Chinatown in NYC to Florida to Chinatown in San Francisco. The food here is the best Chinese I've ever eaten. The presentation of the food may not be the greatest (paper or styrofoam plates) and the ambiance may not be the most sophisticated (after all, it's a cafe) but the food is superior. I have been eating deliciously fresh authentic Chinese food here for all of the years Bo and Jing have been in Daingerfield (over 13 ). My favorite item on the menu is Shrimp with Chinese vegetables, combo meal with egg roll, steamed rice. I also love the Chicken soup with noodles! Big chunks of white meat, chicken broth and green onions-served with fried noodles. Simply soothing and amazing how good it makes me feel. Everyone who works there is friendly.. I especially like Jami to wait on me. She knows just what I order. It's nice to be a regular customer there. I highly recommend eating there. read more

I'm a regular customer that orders the same food. "Chicken Curry which is C15." And I enjoy the food very much. But the down side to their cafe is that they open and close whenever they want to. And my family would drive there just to come eat the food and it turns out they're not open. And they keep changing the cost of the food and sauces such as rooster sauce which I think is a RIP OFF. One day we have to pay for sauce the next not? What??? And they don't use hair nets and I find hair in my food. I wouldn't be going there if I loved their Chicken Curry so much. I've eaten here several times with no problem but today I have a big problem. The drive thru is open but you get in line, place your order and if there is someone else in line you travel to the back of the line so all orders are taken. Recipe for disaster. I ended up having to make the trip twice but finally got my order. When I got home half the order was missing. I immediately called the café and the lady I spoke to asked me if I was sure the rest of the order was in the bag. Well DUH - I know when half is missing. She then turned the phone over to the owner/chef and he asked me if I was sure only half of my order was in the bag. He then proceeded to tell me that the lady who bagged the order was sure she included everything in my bag. He told me this three times and I asked him if he thought I was lying. He told me he didn't know and didn't know what to do. Well I do. There are too many other places that need support during this time and I'm trying to touch base with all of them. This café will be dropped from the list and all I can tell you is be very careful when you do the drive thru musical chair game they have in place. read more
