Service: order at counter and they bring it to you. Very quickly. Friendly. Edamame was..edamame. I could have used more salt, but that's me. Dumplings were good, could have been sautéed 30 seconds longer, but were good. Teriyaki sauce was good. Fried rice which is what we came in for...wasn't bad, sticky, not much flavor. Stopped in for some sushi. The guy who greeted us at the front was patient while I looked through the menu. Was very helpful and nice. The food was amazing. It came out within 10 minutes of ordering it. It was even a nice day to sit outside and it was beautiful. They have easy going music playing. Will definitely be back!! Sushi in clear, plastic boxes to be eaten with plastic forks, but the presentation is artful just like sushi is supposed to be. My salad was excellent, truly so, and my lady raved over the pot stickers and the rangoon crab. Dessert was a new presentation the owner was working on, and it was outstanding, two small, fried wraps holding something scrumptious and sweet with sauce on one side and whipped cream on the other. And the sushi rolls? Terrific. The tastes were as good as any sushi I've had, but the portions are small. Go there to satisfy your sushi fix not your hunger. Tried this spot for dinner last night and it was a pleasant meal! The menu has a variety of things so it's good for couples where one eats sushi (me) and the other does not (the hubs). I have the spicy tuna roll and it was one of the best I have ever had! I also had the dragon roll which was good, but a tad big and the rice overlapped a little too much. My husband has the Cajun chicken sandwich and the fries and steamed dumplings (weird pairing but we try dumplings at every restaurant). He said the sandwich was good but a bit small. Decor is fun and they have a very pretty patio with great atmosphere of downtown. Only cons: I have had better sushi (but it was good) and the portions are a little small. read more

My Fiancé and I travel a lot and this not what we expected to find around here. We stopped to get dinner here when we found out the other sushi place was closed. This was completely not what we were expecting. I kept saying "You see places like this is San Francisco." It was delicious, they had interesting types of sushi like jalapeño, cream cheese, and bacon. We built our own platter so we got to try an assortment of types. There was not a single thing we purchased that I didn't find interesting and delicious. They were extremely friendly and explained the most popular things right away. Along with explaining the menu for it being our first time, they also brought complimentary chips as well. The place was clean and the outside seating was beautiful. Are you one of those people who hate sushi? Maybe it's because you ate here! If you've never had sushi, PLEASE do not try it here. You will never try it again. This was the worst sushi I've ever had. They have no idea what they're doing. I couldn't even eat it. The "sashimi" salmon was just three, super thin sliced pieces of dry salmon, tasted like it was marinated in liquid smoke. This is one of my all time favorite places to eat in Mount Pleasant. The staff is super helpful and polite. They always exceed any other fast food establishment at service and hospitality. My husband and I eat here nearly weekly. Our favorite rolls are the Temptation and Texan. We also get fried rice and spring rolls. Ask for some round eye sauce for your rice. You won't be disappointed! Their kiri chips are great too especially when made into nachos! Their turn around is quick, restaurant is clean, food is delicious, and I recommend it to everyone. Holy moly! If you are traveling down through Texas and love sushi, stop here! Also make sure to talk to the owners- they have THE coolest background story! The sushi was phenomenal! Super fresh, and a wide variety of options. We are from Oklahoma, and when the staff learned that we were out of town they went above and beyond to ensure we were treated like royalty! We were given complimentary kiri chips, complimentary dessert, AND complimentary beer and sake! Favorite sushi easily. Try to come here at least once a week because it's so good. Pollo roll is really good. They just recently started doing orange chicken and it's way better than Panda Express. It's got a great environment as well. Also try the kiri chips. read more

Horrible sushi!!! Not even on par with super market sushi. This place has potential it's beautifully decorated and very inviting but they need some serious training. This is not how sushi should be. I really wish they could get on top of serving quality sushi but instead hire teenagers that have zero experience and it shows. Always disappointed the two times in 4 years I've tried it. read more

The BEST sushi I have had around the area, the staff are just as amazing as the food, and the owners are just beyond splendid. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast, and the staff were excellent. If you haven't gone already it's a Mt. Pleasant must! Their Cancun roll is my favorite and the wontons are a must, if you're feeling good, get a pop tea and one of their burgers, or even the seafood nachos, I promise you won't regret it! This place is very clean and even had the pleasure of speaking with whom I assume is the owner and asked how everything was and was talking about some of the things that he was thinking of adding/changing. Round-Eye is a hip place in an interesting location within "downtown" Mount Pleasant. Can see why it is popular with the younger crowd. Customer service is fantastic, and you leave feeling they appreciated your business. Had a couple of sushi rolls and wish I had paid more attention to the detail on the menu. All of their rolls come with sauce of some kind already applied. Good BBQ should not need a sauce, and neither should sushi - at least not what RESG uses. Two of the rolls I tried had the same "spicy mayo" applied in large dollops, and I found myself wiping off the excessive mayo after a few bites. The third roll had a decent "Round-Eye" sauce but was swimming in that and Sriracha. I felt that I had eaten a lot of sauce and a little sushi when I left. I will come back and try some of their other items as the poke and wok bowls looked interesting. Updated 09/05/18: Tried a poke bowl and found it to be very good and enjoyable. Updated rating to 4 stars. Looking forward to trying wok bowl soon. read more

I have given this establishment many chances, and each time I am disappointed. The sushi rice they use, is a rice I have never tasted in sushi. It seems like normal rice and it is mushy. Mount Pleasant is a pretty small town when compared with Dallas or even Tyler. We don't have many options. However, we have managed to keep a decent sushi restaurant in business! I have definitely enjoyed better sushi, but when that craving hits, Round Eye doesn't disappoint. Their prices are a little steep, but if you order on Wednesdays, they offer discounted rolls, so that's a bonus! They have a wide variety of sushi rolls on their menu, and I haven't found one I've disliked. Their loaded Rama fries are also amazing. Just visited this place today for the first time, though I remember seeing this place in the newspaper when it opened. Sushi is extremely good! I got the salmon and avocado roll along with the kamikaze rice. The rice was the best I've had since I got a take away from a Thai restaurant about 12 years ago. Staff is friendly, place is clean.
