A colleague suggested Nardello's for an early dinner. Kudos to her. I really liked the ambiance of this old building on the square in Mount Pleasant. The brick walls and wide plank floors with some white wall toward the back of the space maximized the light from the storefront windows. Open and clean by day, but I'm guessing pretty romantic with some d lighting in the evening. Super fresh, crisp, and tasty Jimmy's salad! Sal-Fredo pizza was a little bland but had a good gluten free crust. Meaty, cheesy, savory and a little sweet goodness on the charcuterie board. Margherita pizza was good standard fare with a reportedly yummy wood fired crust. The service was spot on but it was early and we were the only patrons for most of the meal. But they seemed to know the menu well and made good recommendations, so I'm guessing busy times are fine too. read more

Now, I love coming here because we have few places in Mount pleasant that offer a decent meal. However, we encounter from time to time a bad entrée experience. This visit being one of them. I ordered the New York Strip which was perfect. My husband ordered the filet special. I watched my husband cut his first bite and soon as he put it in his mouth he immediately ran to the restroom. Even I server noticed and when he returned, I asked if everything was ok. He looked at me and said NO! He said smell this and lifted another slice of the filet to my nose and I bought . The meat was absolutely spoiled! It was so badly smelling that it would make anyone sick. The server came to us and we explained what happened and asked her to smell the meat and take it back to the manager and cooks. She did and they pulled all their filets. I had my husband just share my steak but it really left him with a bad taste. Service is always great so of course they took it off the menu. Only thing I was surprised was that the manager didn't come by the table. Lets hope no one else experienced that on Thursday night! read more

Large party of 13, but it took from 5:30 to just before 8PM to have our dinner. Almost an hour before our orders were taken. One meal had no Alfredo sauce, one had over cooked brussels sprouts, I had to search for my green beans and had over cooked chicken with not nearly enough sauce. The waiter had to come and ask everyone what they had before he could give us our checks. The food was auctioned off when it arrived from the kitchen. The wrong bills were given to two of the guests. Training for staff must be non existent. You serve from the left and clear from the right. water put on the table with no ice. While you could eat it the food was not top notch. Oh I could go on but what is the point. I for sure will not be going there again. read more

Cute little place on the square with even better food. Jack took care of us and he was great! We ordered the Filet Mignon Crostini as a starter from the chef's specials menu. While it was small, the flavor packed quite the punch and the chimichurri sauce was fantastic. The five cheese dip was quite tasty as well. Pizza is my love language and I went with the Big Sam and added Italian sausage. Wood fired pizza is my favorite and I was not disappointed. The Italian chicken with the caper cream sauce was scrumptious. The breaded chicken was cooked to perfection, paired well with the sauce and the sides. The Sangria was lovely too. Food- ordered the grilled Salmon, garlic mashed potatoes and maple roasted Brussel sprouts. Salmon was good, mashed potatoes were excellent. The sprouts were swimming in the maple syrup, and it quite overpowered the flavor of the Brussel sprouts. Service was very good, but the server probably should have offered a different veg since I'd indicated a concern about the sauce but the chef was going to do what he could to minimize it. This place was interesting. They had a large wood fired oven and were cooking pizzas in what seemed to be four or five minutes. The chef was hand tossing the dough and they looked very good. A friend and I stopped here for lunch while in town for the recent wine festival. While we found the festival overpriced and underwhelming, Nardello's was a nice find. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Fall weather. There were vegan options, including vegan cheese for the pizza. The kale salad (minus the cheese) was fabulous. Four stars instead of five mainly because they started setting up for a party while we were dining. The constant dragging tables and loud yacking was disturbing. It's about time Mount Pleasant got a good, crafty pizza place! It's so cute inside, it has a lofty feel with lots of exposed brick. Their patio is inviting and spacious. They offer salads, sandwiches, and of course pizza! They have craft beer and other adult beverages. Their pizza was pretty darn good. I really enjoyed the crust. The pizzas are fairly thin and the crust is light, airy, and sightly crunchy. I like the little burnt bubbly parts too. We got the "islander" and the "outlaw" pizzas. Both were good, but a little on the greasy side! Islander: I would highly recommend the islander. Everything on this pizza made it taste super fresh-pesto, pineapple, fresh jalapeños, bacon. The cilantro pesto added such vibrant flavor! We will get this again! Outlaw: brisket, pickled jalapeños, veggies, red onion. The brisket was super smokey. I feel like the smokiness overpowered the other flavors. We also had a lot of fatty brisket pieces on our pizza. This led to me picking a lot of the brisket off, bc I definitely don't like to eat meat FAT!! Ew. Other than this, this pizza was not bad, but I wouldn't get it again. I am stunned how this place has such high reviews... captive audience with no other choices? It was awful. The Ceaser Salad was iceberg stems. That were wilted and brown. The croutons were so stale and soggy at the same time (how do you manage stale and soggy???). The ceaser dressing was some kind of weird mayonnaise based disaster that stuck on the leaves like some kind of bad hollandaise sauce. It was a giant bowl of iceberg stems with n occasional soggy croutons and salty cheese straws. The pizza... good gravy. It looked beautiful but like a blind date as she gets closer uou realize the nightmare evening is only just beginning. The edges were black but the middle was so soggy you had to use a fork and knife. And the only flavor... salt. So salty by the end of it my tongue was numb. Which is hindsight was a blessing. And all for the bargain price of 25 bucks before tip. Are you freaking kidding me? I am speechless bordering on angry that this is OK? And that this many people lack any sense of taste! Nardellos is an excellent restaurant if you are looking for a great dining experience in the Northeast Texas area. This wonderful restaurant, located right on the square in Mt. Pleasant, is an inviting place for everyone to enjoy a meal. This restaurant is in a building that is well over 100 years old, but with the right mixture of history, and modern looks. The restaurant has an open feel, and you do not feel, nor come close, to feeling like you are sitting on top of another dinner party. One of the main features is of course the huge fire brick oven in the rear corner of the establishment. There is also an open bar area, if that is your thing. (It's not mine). The menu is not overwhelming and is very simple to read. The choices are to the point, which is, you are here for pizza, specialty appetizers, and custom made sandwiches. I highly recommend the fried zucchini for an appetizer, which comes with a spicy (not hot) aioli. In terms of pizza, the "Straight Up" is a fantastic choice of cheese and sauce with no meat. If you still like going more the veggie route, the "Millennial" is a fantastic choice, with garlic cream, baby spinach, roasted mushrooms, gruyere, ricotta, roasted garlic oil. If you want meat on your pizza, I can't say enough good things about "The Outlaw." A beef brisket topped pizza is literally to die for! Also, if you are an NTCC student, you get a 10% discount, which is pretty nice. Chef Brandon, who runs the place, has a warm disposition, and clearly shows a passion for food. Stopped by on a hot Texas summer day as we were traveling to Arkansas. We were looking for places with outdoor seating as we had a dog and that were kid friendly as well. It's hard to find this combo in the ArkLaTex. The staff was very accommodating and service was excellent. Promptly seated with big glasses of ice water and a bowl for the pooch. We had pizza, meatball subs, tiramisu and a pitcher of sangria. Highly recommend all of them..especially the sangria on a 100 Saturday afternoon. read more
