I'm only giving Nardellos 2 stars because they USED to be good! They were the go-to fancy restaurant to eat at in small town Mount Pleasant. They have gone downhill so much. Their pizza, the Outlaw, used to be the bomb, with loads of shredded brisket. It's now small chunks of brisket, more like fat. It's gross and soggy. Not to mention, this place advertises themselves as an Italian/American cuisine. They are now serving birria tacos. Seriously???? I'm Italian, and so I take this as a massive offense. Either serve only Italian food, or don't serve it at all. If you're running out of Italian recipes, maybe grab a cook book and teach your cooks! Don't change cultures completely. It's ridiculous. Leave that to the Mexican restaurants who've got it going on with them tacos. You can do better Nardellos. read more

Stopped by on a hot Texas summer day as we were traveling to Arkansas. We were looking for places with outdoor seating as we had a dog and that were kid friendly as well. It's hard to find this combo in the ArkLaTex. The staff was very accommodating and service was excellent. Promptly seated with big glasses of ice water and a bowl for the pooch. We had pizza, meatball subs, tiramisu and a pitcher of sangria. Highly recommend all of them..especially the sangria on a 100 Saturday afternoon. read more

Ok guys I'm back! I went to Nardellos and the SALADS ARE THE TRUTH!!!! I haven't ventured back to the pasta as of yet, but I will because I have to try it one more time! The Sake Margarita was amazing and I tried the Sauvignon Blanc was good too! My cousins took me back and I'm glad they did! We had the best waiter by the way, he was sooooooo AWESOME! Probably the beet pizza in Mount Pleasant. They are really starting to improve the downtown area. Several new restaurants are popping up, Nardello's being one of them. The place was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. They serve wood fired pizzas, sandwiches, and craft beer. What more can you ask for! I got the islander pizza. The crust was awesome. Pizzas are thin with a puffy, crunchy crust. I will for sure get the islander pizza next time. The ingredients were very fresh. This pizza comes with fresh jalapeños, pineapple, bacon (chewy) and a cilantro pesto on top. I wish the bacon had been a little crunchier it was more like a Canadian bacon. Nonetheless, it was really good. The islander pizza had a ton of flavor. I also tried the outlaw pizza. I prob wouldn't get this one again. It was not bad just not my favorite. It had brisket, red onion, pickled jalapeños, and other veggies. If you enjoy a smoky flavor you will like this one a lot. The meat was too fatty for my liking. If you are in Mount Pleasant and want something other than your traditional pizza, this is the place to go! They do have traditional pizza options, but also offer something different and unique for your taste buds! I will be back! read more

My husband and I stopped for a quick bite to eat as we returning from a camping trip to Buffalo Natl river point. The Kale salad and Majestic Pizza were awesome and a couple of beers complimented the pizza. The crust on the pizza was thin and the best I have had in long time. Honestly omg what is wrong with restaurants and common sense. My salad had one single cucumber slice/ maybe a teaspoon of cheese and two cherry tomatoes. This restaurant is hit or miss for me. The ambiance is great, service is typically great, but the food isn't always the best. The pizza and Tiramisu are both a safe bet, but I once ordered their salmon pasta and it was like I chugged a cup of olive oil. The salmon was cooked with perfection! When you dig that fork in it falls apart. It was well seasoned & also the sauce drizzled on there compliments the fish. The quinoa was a little bit over cooked & dry. Service lacks a bit. It's because they forget to set the silverware out on the table first. I called in an order and when I got their I was greeted but a friendly staff. I got my pizza paid for it and when I got home I was disappointed at what I got. A 12 inch pizza with a small 8inch circle of meager ingredients and on top of that the top was burnt and the middle soggy. I've had brick oven pizza before and it was never black on top and it was topped with plenty of ingredients. read more

Love, love, love this Italian tavern. Decor has an industrial/loft/farmhouse vibe (think Joanna Gaines restaurant) with a good sized patio. Service is always cheerful and knowledgeable. Nice wine and beer selection, too. But the pizza!!! Wood fired, crispy, chewy. The crust edges are almost as good as the middle. Almost. I suggest the Hot Honey. No actually, I insist. A group of 5 of us went to Nardello's yesterday on the recommendation of local family & friends. In my experience, when locals call a restaurant 5-stars, it's usually 3. But I have to say, Nardello's hits it out of the park. It's every bit as good as the best pizzarias in Austin. First, the ambiance. Nardello's has done a masterful job restoring the building they're located in. Usually, when small town restaurants try to give a building ambiance, the slap on faux exposed bricks with faux crumbling stucco, with a nice dose of faux "worn" paint. But, walking into Nardello's, you feel like you're walking into a historic building that's been lovingly cared for. It doesn't look or feel like a building that's been gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. The walls are exposed, 100+ y/o brick, and the ceilings soar 20+ feet. Everything from the flooring to the tile, counters, to the windows give a historic feel. Now for the food. I personally ordered the "Gettin' Figgy With It" and "The Millenial" I'd rate both 4.5 to 5-stars. Legitimately, the only pizza I've had in Austin better than either is The Armadillo at Pinthouse Pizza. They were fabulous! And, at 12", the size is good. We didn't partake in their wine or beer offerings, but I gave them a look and they had some really fantastic options (well beyond what you'd find in 99% of small town restaurants). The co-owner of Nardello's also owns The Farmer's Wife, which has a fantastic wine & beer selection. So, you know they're going to offer a great selection of hard-to-find wines & beers. All in all, this place is 5-stars. 5-stars for the interior & ambiance, 5-stars for the great outdoor patio, 5-stars for the food, and 5-stars for the wine & beer menu. If this place was in Austin, I'd eat there regularly. read more

Really disappointed. The service was fine but the food left a lot to be desired. I got Spaghetti and meatballs. I didn't know you could mess up something so simple but they managed it. The sauce was nothing more than tomato sauce and the 3 small meatballs had the texture of sand with little flavor. The bread that came with it was scorched so the smell took over any possibility of trying to enjoy it was lost. My husband had a pizza, and enjoyed it, which is why I am giving 3 stars. read more

My wife and I went 'off-hours', at 3.30 p.m. on a Saturday. The building, signage, and decor was very inviting. Incredible a small town has a beautiful place like this. Wish we had this in our 'fastest growing in the U.S.' town. There was one girl working all the tables, five tables were fully occupied, and she was very attentive and sharp. we got the fried bread, sweet potato soup, and the 'Getting Figgy With It' pizza. Nice atmosphere. Parking nearby. Interior design nice, industrial but...not too industrial. Nice semi-enclosed patio, though we ate inside. I went with my daughter (we were traveling and stopped for the night in Mt. Pleasant.) We were seated immediately (Tuesday evening 6:45) and had drinks within five minutes. We ordered a Big Sam pizza with added pineapple and half no cheese. My daughter explained that I have a dairy allergy to our waitress (though I am not anaphylactic to dairy, or else I wouldn't be sharing a pizza so it's not super serious for me, thankfully.) Our pizza was on the table within 15 minutes. I didn't get a pic before we grabbed a piece, but it was cooked in the middle and not burnt. Two minor complaints/areas where the restaurant could improve: 1.) There was a small amount of cheese sprinkled throughout the "no cheese" side. It looked as if the cook dropped some across carelessly. Not great for someone with a dairy allergy but I picked it off and will probably be fine. However, for those with a more severe allergy, I mention this to make you aware. I also don't know if there was dairy in the crust because usually a small amount does not cause me a serious reaction. 2.) Toppings were pretty sparse. This is noticeable when you don't eat pizza with cheese, especially. That was a little disappointing. It had a saltiness to it but wasn't overly salty to me, but again...no cheese...it may have been extra salty with cheese. My daughter didn't think so, though. For a pizza and one Sprite, the total was just over $17, not including tip. Overall, I thought our dinner was pleasant and tasty. Waitstaff and hostess were good. Not the absolute best pizza I've ever eaten but certainly not the worst either. It was overall a good experience. read more

Best Sunday brunch in town! We have a lake cabin at a nearby rural country. After four years just passing through this town on way to our cabin, one day we stopped at a cafe, Laura's Cheesecake, to crab lunch and discovered this restaurant next to the cafe. We then came to either the cafe or this restaurant several times every week. Love their steak, salad, and pizza. I'd not recommend salmon though. My husband kindly reminded me that this is inland and rural country, he'd be a bit concerned about ordering seafood.... well, I'd say he's right this time... Anyhow, overall the food here are tasty and has some modern touch - much healthier than the fried steak with gravy that most country restaurants offer. Oh, almost forgot the mention their brunch. I couldn't wait to try Nardellos. I had been told it was a little pricey but worth it. I ordered cream of tomato soup, it's my favorite, my mouth salivating while I waited. My first taste...ummm. It tasted like warmed up sauce from a can, imagine my disappointment. The serving was small, more of a cup then a bowl, and it was $7.00. The service was good, the atmosphere nice...I did like that. If you want a very nice, modern ambiance, CHECK. If you want great pizzas, CHECK. If you want good service, CHECK. However, if you want a variety of Italian food choices, it will be limited. But it is a nice place to kick back on a Friday or Saturday night with friends. Came in for dinner tonight, service was horrible, Carlie didn't seem to be happy to serve us. Had to go to the bar to get another drink. We are local and we usually go in on Mondays and go in later in the evening because of our schedule. We made friends with a few employees which are no longer there unfortunately. When we go in it seems like it's a very young employee base. Lately when we go in we feel EXTREMELY rushed. We like to get an appetizer then order our meal and have a couple drinks. We order our drinks and they want us to order everything at the same time. We do order and before we are asked If we want anything else they bring us our ticket. If they were in such a big hurry why are they making " to go alcoholic drinks" for the employees when they get off work and walk out the door?? But I'm not asked if I would like another drink before you bring me my tab???? Not good customer service read more
