We were passing through Mount Pleasant and the yelp reviews steered us to Nardello's- the restaurant is adorable but the food and service left lots to be desired. Our entrees took an extremely long time (only more frustrating because I watched them sit under the lights in the open kitchen) and the burgers and fries were cold by the time they finally got to the table. Our server was friendly but I'm sure forgot we were out on the patio for most of our meal. Sadly not a place we'll stop again next time we're in town. read more

I give this place 5 stars because of our service. The pizza was good, bread sticks good, fried zucchini good, wine good. But our service was Excellent! Our server was a beautiful lady named Mo. Now whether that was her real name or not, she made our first trip here so enjoyable! Very personable, prompt and professional. If you go to eat here, ask for Mo. This place was a pleasant surprise. I tried this joint while working in town, being from Austin I was dreading the limited options. This place has a farm to table type of philosophy and and industrial farmhouse feel inside. One of the few places in town you can get a drink with your meal. I had the Jimmy's salad which was fresh, crisp, and the dressing was homemade and had a little tang. The pizza was great. Wood fired, ingredients are all incredibly fresh, I had the "Gettin Figgy With It" which was delightful. The fig and balsamic glaze give just a hint of sweetness to balance the saltiness of the Canadian bacon. My friend had the Ceasar salad and hog hunter and Said both were very good as well. I had the banana bread pudding for desert and it was excellent. The banana bread put a twist on the traditional bread pudding. The glaze comes on the side so you can decide how much or little you want, definitely recommend adding ice cream to it. The cheesecake was good too. What made this place stand out was the service. Two of us went to eat here for Mother's Day. He arrived at 1:30. The place was about full. They had 2-3 empty tables that we could see from the front host stand. No one else was waiting for a table. The hostess asked us how many? We replied 2. She said hold on and went to speak to the bartender. When she came back she told us our name wasn't already on a waiting list so she couldn't seat us because they close at 2.... Terrible actions for a restaurant. We won't be going back. The food is great... except for the hummus plate. They charged us around $4 for the cheap store-bought crackers they serve with the dip. A much better alternative would be for them to make their own in-house pita with the pizza crusts they already make. Had been searching for New York style pizzerias anywhere near here. I'm kinda in the middle of a foodie desert unless I want fast food joints or to drive 2 hours NE to Texarkana or 2 hours+ SW to Dallas. So anyway, this place showed up in my search and I had to travel in to town today so figured I'd give them a try. I was the only customer in the place when I got there @ ~3:45pm on a Wednesday. (A take out came while I was there and a couple arrived as I was finishing) They serve wood fired pizza and none by the slice so I just sat down & ordered a "Big Sam" which is "tomato sauce, good pepperoni, mozzarella" ($14) and added "crumbled sausage" ($2.00), and a sweet tea (small glass ~ $2.00). The pizza came in under 15 minutes and looked good, like a NY style would look, with really thin but firm crust, adequate toppings, but smaller diameter than a Lrg NY pie would be. I'd put it at maybe a cross between a med and lrg. I wasn't as good as the best I've had, but it was very good. I'm pleased with it and will go back as opposed to Domino's, Pizza Hut, CiCi's (BLECH!) or Little Ceaser's. I haven't tried the other pizza place here (Lulu's) as I've heard some really bad/nasty things/reviews... They have a decent menu and if you're in the mood, you really should try them out. I'm from the Houston area and have had lots of pizza. This place is ok, but it has a ways to go. The pizza was good but a little overdone. The meatballs in the spaghetti were good, but the sauce wasn't and there was a lot of oil and water left in the bowl. When we sat down there was no salt or pepper on the table. We also had to ask for sweetener. And no coffee?! We ordered a desert that was awesome (marble brownie a la mode) but definitely needed coffee to go with it. I'm not very happy about writing this review because I so badly wanted to give a great one! We moved to the area a month ago and always heard how good the pizza was here. So we made a reservation on open table and went for our anniversary . The host did not have our reservation. So just a warning do not make a reservation on open table. One girl said they don't even go by that!? How odd... we were seated ordered drinks and apps and didn't see our waitress again until after we finished apps we still wanted to order pizza and I badly needed salt and pepper. I think I kept seeing the manager walk by but she seemed to touch on all the other tables around us? Whatever... we ordered pizza it took at good 45 mins but 35 mins after waiting our waitress came over to say there was a hole in one of the pizza so it would be long she should have told us when it happened so we were not watching everyone get food around us- we felt as though she was ignoring us :( no drink refills yet again- at least the table had water.the pizza was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely need to clean there act up a bit on service but the food is outstanding- if you must go- get take out! read more

That was the thinnest pizza we have ever had. It was paper thin. I like thin pizza but that is so thin under the cheese the crust is barely there. My wife and I were eager to try this new eatery...What a disappointment...We split a mushroom pizza and she ordered a glass of wine...when the pizza came it had exactly eleven pieces of mushroom on it...the largest was the size of a nickel and the pizza was so salty we could not eat it...I mentioned wine...not so...the "House Wine" was vinegary...it even smelled like vinegar...wife told our waitress the wine was bad...the waitress acted as though my wife had thrown cold water on her...ten minutes later, I hailed the waitress and asked her to see the manager...the lady who claimed she was the manager was rude and smelled the wine (vinegar?) and told my wife "You drank from it, you owe for it." My normally mild mannered wife told her "I took a sip. I spit it back. It's vinegar and I will not pay for it" We waited another ten minutes for the bill, which included the vinegary wine...My turn...The vinegar came off...I paid for the pizza which had three bites taken out of it (I couldn't believe it was that salty with just one bite.) and left it on the table...We then left and will never go back... read more
