Food, made fresh, brought out to you hot and delicious. The service their is outstanding, their wait staff are constantly, checking on you, making sure if there is anything else, they can possibly, get for you. It was lunchtime, when we went, getting pretty full, you can here, small chatter, but not to noisy or loud in there. We was able to get a parking space, right in front of the restaurant. The duck egg rolls were decent. Nice to have 3 sauces to Change the flavor. The table bread and whipped butter is delicious. The Brussels sprouts were a nice mix and enjoyed it. The veal was just ok. Way too salty and the potatoes, tomato, and veal all had the same mushy consistency. Really hard to taste the veal, it was just not thick enough to battle the rest. Was too full to try dessert. Wish I would have been here late enough instead of at 3pm cause the special wasn't even cooked yet. Would have rather that. Not a bad place, just got to choose wisely. read more

Overall very enjoyable. The outside looks like a dive, maybe an abandoned building. Inside is nice--small, maybe 15 tables, white linen tablecloths. Excellent (lunch) menu--wide variety of interesting appetizers, salads, and main courses. The dinner menu has a few choices unique to that service. We started with marinated crab claws and duck confit spring rolls. This was a new take (for me) on marinated claws/no green component, just a thinnish marinade. Tasty but too salty. The spring rolls were outstanding. Two of us had rainbow trout--very god, not fishy at all/--served with mashed potatoes and thinly sliced asparagus. The underlying sauce was good but also too salty. The burger was, apparently, tasty. The service was very good. Neither hovering nor ignoring. Overall; definitely worth the stop. Just don't expect valet parking. read more

Mixed review here. 3- The service wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Waiter was nice and kind but seemed a little too chill for service that merits 5 star (forgot husbands drink and wasn't super attentive). 3 - Ambiance was very elegant and appearance of the whole place was clean and tidy. This Non-5 star issue may be a personal one; I have a pet peeve for any business that runs its' office on the customer floor (or in this case at the bar) but especially restaurants. This may have been an isolated incident since he was on the phone with someone from customer service (and the call was not going well) but nonetheless it was a bit distracting and unprofessional. 4 the food! We were there for lunch. We ordered the Duck Spring Roll appetizer and it was good not great. Seems it should have been a flaky crust to it but it was soft almost chewy. For our meal I ordered the Salmon appetizer and my husband ordered the goat cheese salad with steak. Both were excellent! For these two I would go back if someone invited me (but we are from out of town so that probably won't happen). The other thing that seemed weird was the water and ice tea tasted "earthy" which I know sounds weird. It was kind of like cucumber water but not. Not sure of that, the husband said he didn't notice in his drinks. read more

Food was ok and atmosphere is decent. However if you have to work the next morning.....don't get your hopes up to get out of there until 9:30-10pm. Service is SSSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW. Asked for ticket at 9:15.....didn't get it for about 25 minutes. We both had to get up and leave for work early the next morning. Staff was more interested in doing shots than taking care of business. Be careful when tipping, because they have already built the tip into an up charge that is not real evident on your ticket. If I would have realized they put a 20% surcharge I definitely would not have tipped more. More than likely won't ever go back. read more

Had dinner there last night and it was fantastic. The service was phenomenal, the bread delicious. We particularly loved the Brussel sprouts. So good. House Sauvignon blanc was very decent. We both got fish. I had the snapper. It's in a cream sauce with a good flavor. Fish might have been slightly over cooked. He had the halibut which was prepared in a parchment sack. Very unique flavor and the rice that came with it was so good. The star was really the Brussel sprouts and service. Also, the chef came to say hello which was nice. Had dinner with a friend last night and must say this was one of the very best dining experiences I have ever had. The food for every course was simply delicious, outstandingly so, the waitstaff did not rush us at all. I would say the carpaccio was the best I have had anywhere in the world. We enjoyed the halibut, soup do the day, carpaccio and handmade fettuccine. Every bite was delicious. I thought the price was right too, not too expensive to be enjoyable. The cucumber gimlet is so refreshing and delicious and the wine offerings are impressive. House wines were delightful and thoughtfully chosen. Bella Fresca has a very calm, attractive, peaceful and immaculately maintained atmosphere and would be perfect for date night, dinner with a friend, a business dinner, girls night out, a solo dining experience or a family event. It is elegant or country club casual, I would say. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Salt and pepper is served on a tray with a demi spoon....little things that just add a dimension of elegance to the meal. I would also like to add that this restaurant is ADA friendly. My medical service dog was welcomed without questioning even though I would have answered any questions posed, none were. This also lended itself to a stress free experience. I just loved our dining experience, enjoyed every bite of food, stayed hydrated with a full water glass throughout the visit, felt this restaurant was at the top of the list for a lovely dinner out. read more

What a gem! One of the finest meals we've had in a long time. Tonight's dinner was outstanding from the bread to the rainbow trout and an amazing dish with sweet potato soufflé, risotto, fried green tomatoes (sorry can't recall the name but it was delish). Underwhelming is how I would describe this dining experience. Previously had a great lunch here a couple of years ago and looked forward to a return visit while in Shreveport recently. Beef carpaccio was pricey and nothing special. Caesar salad was bland and absent any Parmesan cheese. The filet was ordered "medium" but delivered charred (burnt) on the outside and rare in certain areas on the inside. Shaved asparagus was fibrous and most of entree went untouched. The best thing about this meal was the $8 Brussels sprouts and the excellent service by our wait staff. Not worth the price; won't be back. read more

I hate to write this but don't waste your money! Everything we ate tonight was pretty bad. I started with the soup of the day (corn) and it was more like a dip for chips. The Cesear salad was so salty I was not able to eat it. Fettuccine I ordered had 0 flavor. My husbands steak was so raw he could not finish it. The bread we got a the beginning was very good. The waiter was super friendly, can't complain about the service. We could have taken the opportunity to send stuff back but we did not want to go through the hassle of doing that. read more

No complaints about the service. Balanced attentiveness and the courses came out at a good pace. The dining area is intimate with the right amount of light. Appetizers were great. Had the smoked salmon which featured small bites of deliciousness with picked red onion, capers, and sauce. The parm truffle fries were delicious. The wine list was nice. Unfortunately the main courses were lacking. The osso bucco was served in a bowl with a creamy, soupy substance, topped with cauliflower and a few mushrooms. It was very bland and was an interesting take on traditional osso bucco. My wife's steak was bland as well with shavings of asparagus, which were tough. The tougher skin at the base of the asparagus spears were not peeled. I could see that it was customary for tables to be given rustic presentations of salt and pepper. Very interesting as most restaurants at this price point shouldn't need table seasonings. For moderate-fine dining in Shreveport-Bossier, I recommend to go elsewhere. read more

I wanted to order Homemade Saffron Fettuccine, the waiter told me I'd rather order something else because fettuccine is fettuccine and nothing special about it, when I was craving fettuccine like hell. Well, if you don't want me to order it, get it off the menu. I was stunned for two seconds and ordered something else. I don't like the waiter and I will not be coming back. P.S. Shrimp and Scallop is definitely not worth the price of $32. Only two shrimps and two scallops and it wasn't that WOW. P.S.S. Once a table away from the door became open we asked if we could move and at first they said yes but then gave the table to someone else. Wow! Excellent food here folks! Let's start at the beginning. When we were looking for the place we drove by it twice. The first time we just missed it because it's very small. The second time we drove by and saw it but it looked like a closed business. We decided to go back and check and we're glad we did. When we walked in we felt underdressed in jeans but our waiter assured us we weren't. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. I ordered the Blackened Flounder and she got the Rainbow Trout. Both meals were beyond expectations. After dinner we got the White Chocolate Creme Brule which was superb and highly recommended. The waiter (Jacob "chops") was polite and professional and did a great job taking care of us. Overall great experience. I would love to come more often but I can't afford it! On the downside the outside of the building needs some attention. It honestly looks like a closed down building not a 5 star restaurant. Also I wanted a daiquiri but was told they don't have a frozen drink machine. Come on guys it's a 5 star restaurant get a frozen drink machine for daiquiri lovers. Those are the only two detractors I could find. Fix those and you'll be good to go. read more

This is a small, Modern Italian restaurant with good food. We were glad we called ahead on a Friday night because the place was popping, and without reservations we would have waited a while to be seated. We wanted to eat light, so we started with a cheese and charcuterie plate, and then we each got a salad. I'll say this: we ate every. single. bite. The charcuterie board was completely cleaned off by the end of it, though I will admit it left a little something to be desired. We got a taste of everything on our board, but it was a bit small and lacked all the usual accoutrements (nuts, chutneys, etc.). I had the caprese salad, which was quite good, though nothing spectacular. We also had a good bottle of Pinot noir. Oh! And the bread! I almost forgot the bread! The bread was delicious, and they brought it fresh from the over so it was almost too hot to touch! Overall, I enjoyed my experience, the food, and the company. Food was okay but the service was absolutely awful. I went in between lunch and dinner, there were only 2 other tables occupied. I sat there for a while before I actually got a menu and a glass of water. Bread was supposed to be brought out but I was told it was still being made and would be a bit. That was fine but I never actually got any. Once I finally got my food it was decent (ordered medium steak it was more of a rare steak with burnt edges) the fries were good though. I was spoken to once during my entire dining experience the owners son and the other employe that was there were too busy talking amongst themselves to really even acknowledge me. I had to flag down the guy just to get my check. My last issue is the language that I heard amongst the employees. Both were complaining about not wanting to answer the phone and dropping f bombs like crazy. I cuss like a sailor but not while I'm at work. The amount of f bombs I heard from the 2 employees there while customers were in the restaurant would get me fired at my job but I guess you can get away with that being the owners son.
