Based on the way I was treated compared with others around me, I left with the strong impression that race may have played a role in how I was treated. Whether intentional or not, the experience made me feel singled out and discriminated against. No customer should ever leave a restaurant feeling humiliated or questioning whether they were treated unfairly because of the color of their skin. Restaurants should be places where everyone is welcomed with dignity, respect, and professionalism. I chose your establishment expecting excellent food and courteous service. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, deeply disappointed, and disturbed by the overall experience. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I respectfully request that ownership investigate this incident thoroughly, review the conduct of the manager and staff on duty, and take appropriate action to ensure no other customer experiences what I did. We started off with an order of crab stuffed mushrooms. Although the stuffing was tasty, as a whole it wasn't something I'd order again. I ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 - 1/2 poboy and gumbo. Food was just okay. The sandwich was dry, the gumbo was mostly rice. My friend, who we were celebrating, was disappointed with her food. However the fish was dry, the shrimp was overcooked and the veggies (that she replaced for the fries) was the highlight of her meal. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu.
