    catfish poboy and gumbo

I was here on business staying close by and saw that BeauxJax was rated fairly high. I sat at the bar and Lily was nothing short of attentive and super kind. I knew I wanted catfish and gumbo and they have a combo which was perfect sizes. The roll was perfectly chewy for a Poboy. Gumbo was nice and spicy and served over rice. I ended up ordering etouffee and a muffuletta to go! The etouffe ended up being my favorite thing that I got (not pictured because I devoured it). I knew the muffuletta was poboy style so it wasn't the typical thick layers of meat and cheese and wasn't overloaded with olives. It was ok, I think I would have ordered the Boudin instead. If you're close by I'd definitely stop in

There is a creative menu at this restaurant. Lots of sandwiches options as po boys, salads and boiled crawfish. We saw a waiter here reading the menu to a person who could not see well. That was so awesome to see. Our waitress was very careful to make sure our food was safe for our food allergy. The muffuletta po boy and the bourbon chicken salad were both fantastic.

I come here every time I'm in town, all the food is fantastic. My table shared shrimp &grits, loaded Mac $ cheese, hibachi combo and gumbo. Hardest decision was trying to agree on what was our favorite, so agreed it was a 4 way tie,,,,, highly recommend

The food was good. It had great flavor 5/5 The ambiance was good, and even with a band playing in the back, you could still carry on a conversation without having to yell. 5/5 The service was lacking greatly. Really young kids, barely old enough to serve alcohol and very inexperienced. 3/5

Loved this place! The food was fresh, and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Shreveport! I'll be back for sure!

Our server was amazing. She was in the back of the restaurant around noonish-1. She was attentive, very hospitable. The food was great! The drinks were not that good though....

We happened upon this place in search of good beer. Not only did we find good beer, we found friendly bartenders and customers and a heck of a deal on delicious crawfish!! It was a busy Saturday night, but the place is huge with lots of seating options. They also had an area in the back where the neighboring businesses joined in with a George Strait cover band from Fort Worth. We parked on the street several blocks away but there's paid parking closer.

Quick seating, ok service, food was good but man oh man the drinking cup made me question the investment in quality! Presentation is everything

Based off my searching Yelp prior to my trip to the area, I knew this place was going to be a winner! We came for an early lunch (11:30) and the place was already busy! Because of my research, I knew I had to get the loaded mac. Ohmygosh it was so good. The seasoning was spicy and pleantiful. I ended up having about half of it to bring home for leftovers and it heated up beautifully. Husband got the half pound shrimp boil and liked everything but the corn. He said that tasted of a lot of butter (maybe because it was sitting it it?) The place is big so it seems like even if you come at prime time getting a table wouldn't be too difficult. Their drinks look pretty tasty too but I didn't order any on this visit. I'd say I'm coming back to try other menu items... but I might just be getting that loaded mac forever!

The outdoor area is perfect for spring days. There was live music and our service was great. We came here for crawfish and unfortunately I was not aware that these crawfish had seasoning on the outside. The amount of salt was unbearable so eventually I just have to eat the tails because trying to get the juice resulted in so much salt on my tongue. Cute space though!

Well worth a little trip to celebrate Louisiana's creative cuisine!! My "bourbon chicken" Salad was right on the money!! Spicy, slightly sweet & tender, on a bed of delicious leafy greens!! I may have gotten so excited and eaten my bowl, before I took a photo!! Ohhhh and don't pass up the Bread Puddin' it might put a bit of warmth in your tummy!! Like a delicious night cap!

Been wanting to try this place for a while. We went on a Saturday afternoon before a concert. Great place to eat. Great place to watch the game. Great place to just hang out. The food was excellent. The drinks were strong. The waitress was on point. Would definitely recommend to anyone that loves to hang out in cool places. We didn't have time to really explore. But lots of different venues in the area. They have live music in the evenings.

Just wandered on. Lilly at the bar is a dream and has great recommendations. Fast service and friendly people. Lilly told me how this place has live bands and a huge out door area. Seems like a great hangout spot for all. My food was darn toot'n tasty.

But table seating was available. After taking a couple minutes to decide. I chose the shrimp poboy. It was delivered at 12:05, with the tails on. Before I could eat, I had to pull them off. It was fantastic. So I guess I'll be okay. By 12:20 I was cashing out lunch for one $20. They issued a 20% discount for my military id.

So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.

Recently was in the area and I went here back to back days…read more The first day was a Friday during Happy Hour. It wasn't busy, I sat at the bar in the bar area. The happy hour specials had to be asked about, however the bartender/server was very attentive and responsive. I ordered the Mango Cart beer along with the sampler of charbroiled oysters. The bartender also brought out some bread. I had high hopes for the oysters, and although you get a variety, they left me feeling somewhat disappointed. The Rockefeller had way too much spinach, the charbroiled was dry and had too much bread crumbs, the crab stuffed was okay and to my surprise the Diablo was my favorite. I also got some bread pudding which came out pipping hot. It tasted okay although it was too much for one person. Overall I gave the meal 4 stars The next day I came back with friends and we sat in the dining area. This was disastrous. The server let us know she was going to come back and help us after she got the LARGE group next to us taken care of but would put our order in first. Then she forgot about us. Actually told us she had already put their order in and proceeded to take our order. Then she had to come back and confirm (which was wrong) as she didn't write anything down. We started off with an order of crab stuffed mushrooms. Although the stuffing was tasty, as a whole it wasn't something I'd order again. I ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 - 1/2 poboy and gumbo. Food was just okay. The sandwich was dry, the gumbo was mostly rice. My friend, who we were celebrating, was disappointed with her food. When it came to the table she saw fries and asked was there an option and the server said yes, and she proceeded to ask her what she would have liked instead. However the fish was dry, the shrimp was overcooked and the veggies (that she replaced for the fries) was the highlight of her meal. Unfortunately we also both got sick which we assumed was from the mushrooms as it's the only thing we both had. So this visit gets 2 stars.
