Cajun Dog
Mark M.

I came here with a buddy who had eaten here previously and he raved about it and built it up as a great place. The Missing Link did not disappoint whatsoever! Great atmosphere with a very cool vibe. Great service and great food! The line was long and the service took a minute but our server was diligent and apologetic about our wait. The bacon cheddar dog was delicious as was the Cajun Dog. I ordered two different things knowing that I was boxing up the rest so that I could take some home for my wife to try. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back. It gives me a reason to look forward to coming to Shreveport.

Excellent food! The service was amazing! And the ambiance was chill and uniquely decorated! Enjoy! I had the Cajun dog with the rosemary garlic fries.

The food is amazing. Service was great too. The "Gouda Crunch" burger is one of the best burgers we've had. The "Drunk and Corrupt" dog was exceptional with the sauerkraut and stone ground mustard. The "Coonass" dog was great with the crawfish etouffee. We'll be back for sure!

Finally can rate food. Solid 4. Service food and ambience all great. Had the Cajun and it was delicious. Bread is awesome toppings good and meat cooked perfectly. I ish it was bigger. The rosemary fries were fantastic and don't need ketchup. I was full but kept eating them. The brisket was only thing didn't care for. The sauce wasn't right for me almost tasted like sweet coffee but it was tender.

The Chicago Dog

Great food, small menu which makes perfect sense. The bacon ranch chicken sandwich and bacon cheddar fries were delicious. The staff is very friendly and the place has a great decor. Overall a great experience for lunch today.

More than just hotdogs! The menu has changed every time I've gone and the owner/chef has impressed me again. Make any hotdog a footlong for $2. There is a cabinet full of board games to enjoy while you're there. The space is huge with a bar and small patio near the front.

Great food. Order came out quick! We all enjoyed what we ordered. Great atmosphere and cute building!

Loved the fact they had games!!! The food was great and the service quick!!! The inside was very nice and clean!!

Bottom line-the food was great and the service is outstanding. I've gone a few times. The last trip was just to get Rosemary Fries and a drink. The menu has a variety of dressed dogs and hamburgers. The bar is well stocked.

Can I give a 6 star review? Super unique decor. Looks like they may have a band play there sometimes, although there wasn't one when I visited. You'll have to pay for parking since it's downtown. But I only paid like 60 cents for 30 minutes. Got the Cajun with extra onions instead of bell peppers. First time ever having loaded onion rings, never seem them before. Everything was fire. Straight fire. Gonna come here every time I stop in Shreveport. Got some family members hooked on it too.

Bacon Cheddar Fries

I came on my lunch break , they were super quick and sweet. I enjoyed the food for my first time I definitely shared everywhere !!

The food was amazing! I tried the House burger (double) with American cheese and the Cousin Eddie fries and it was great! My cousin got the Chicago style hot dog and loved it. My sister ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and said it was delicious. We all ordered the beignets and they were amazing. The restaurant inside was clean, including the restrooms and decorated with caricature photos of celebrities. The best part was the service. All of the different owners/operators personally came and talked to us at different times and made sure we were getting anything we needed. 10/10 recommend and the next time I'm in Bossier I'm going back!

Notes: 1) good selection, including vegan options 2) self service drinks 3) inside a hotel/ apartment complex thing 4) felt nice and old time-y 5) outside seating 6) does takeout 7) been here once Pros: 1) has a pickup parking spot which is nice for downtown 2) great service 3) pretty good food Cons: 1) kinda pricey for the food Total: 4/5 The missing link is actually what I miss most about Baton Rouge. A nice hotdog place that I can go to and relax at. The service was great and they were nice in helping me pick out what I wanted. The restaurant is pretty popular when I went and had a lot of things to look to getting. Being inside a hotel area, it was a little bit confusing to find and seemed small. However, this place has a really big interior and had decently fast wait time for the food. I ordered and was in and out in about 10-15 minutes. It was crazy. My biggest complaint is that they ran out of some of the interesting options pretty quickly so I had to pick something else. It wasn't a bad thing but it was a bit sad to see that I couldn't try out something new. I went for the classic and it wasn't the worst things. However, my friend got the cousin Eddie and that looked amazing. The hot dog was covered well and it looked good. The rosemary and garlic fries were pretty good. However, we got so much that it was hard to eat after some time. My whole body smelled of garlic after I was done. The onion rings were pretty good. However, I think it needed a sauce to go with it. The onion rings tasted good on their own but needed some help to wash down after a bit. I wanted to try the alligator dog and also the Mac and cheese but it wasn't available at the time. I have to go back. Overall, I would try this place out. It may be a little pricey but it is worth it for those doggo lovers.

After taking a couple minutes to decide. I chose the shrimp poboy. It was delivered at 12:05, with the tails on. Before I could eat, I had to pull them off. It was fantastic. So I guess I'll be okay. By 12:20 I was cashing out lunch for one $20. They issued a 20% discount for my military id.

When in Shreveport on a Monday, your dining options are...limited (unless you fancy a casino…read moredinner, which we did not). So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.

Wow, who would think Shreveport had a place like this that plays this kinda music! I found a seat at the bar which has short stools for a tall bartop. Same can be said about the urinal. You better be at least 5'9 to even use it. I came mainly for the music, which consisted of dubstep, electronica, dance, and reggae-rap during my stay. During normal times, there is a DJ a few times a week that comes on 9-10ish. I saw him arrive early because i arrived even earlier, but by 1030 he still hadn't come on, so I went back to my hotel. Everyone I encountered was super friendly. Drinks were reasonable and well made and for all these reasons I'd definitely return when I come back to town.

9/28/19. Sometimes the letdown is already there. And no matter what you do it's hard to shake back…read morefrom that. And other times, there are instances that shoulder that letdown, and still get knocked back further for a few more yards for an even greater loss. And that's what happened here on my first, and probably last visit to this establishment. Allow me to explain. My buddy and I were set. We were going to see The Who in Dallas (three hours away) on the night in question. Yes, that The Who. We had our tickets for months, and then late the night before the show, legendary lead singer Roger Daltrey fell ill, and the show was postponed. We were lost. We had our permission slips signed and we were ready to go! The Who, baby! In Big D.! And now, we had a night off and no plans. What to do? What to do? My buddy forwarded me information about this gig here. The Electric Park, out of North Carolina. This venue exclusively promotes electronica, EDM, techno, you know whatever they're calling it these days. You know what I'm talking about. I'm cool with whatever. I'm down. Let's do this. I've been wanting to check this place out anyway. I like and enjoy all types of music. This place is small, and also is a similar aluminum siding structure with its' live music venue parking lot-mate, Strange Brew (which I support fully, and also enjoy). So, this is a smaller space here, but yet I still couldn't help envisioning dance clubs from the day, bodies everywhere. Pulsating to the heavy bass. Thumpthumpthump. (Yelling)-WHAT'S YOUR NAME?? Thumpthumpthump. (Her, yelling back in response)-WHAAAAT?? Thumpthumpthump (Yelling again)- I SAID, WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!?!? Thumpthumpthump (Her, also again)-WHAAAAT?? I was excited. I really was. Okay, so no Who in Dallas. They'll be back (I hope!) I'm ready now to get my rave on! Sure, why not? And then we walk in. Get hit with a seven dollar service charge at the door. And as that payment was being transacted for entry (this is around 10pm). I can't help but notice the sheer lack of humanity within the confines here at this moment. $7. For this? Yes, it's a small interior, and no, there aren't very many people here. If it wasn't for the tubthumping coming from the dj booth, we might have actually heard crickets instead. And were it not for the year-round humidity, we might have actually been knocked over by a metaphorical tumbleweed! This place was dead. This place made the Dead Sea look positively alive! Oh, there were some people there milling about. It was a rather odd assortment of people at that. Estimated ranging of ages anywhere from early twenties to early sixties by my own guesstimation. I know, right? Strange. There were some pretty ladies there in a small group huddled in front of the bar, but they all seemed to be regulars. No throngs of people gyrating to the beats. No sweaty masses. Nope. Just a few people here and about. Just standing around. Like a middle school dance and every bit as awkward. Zero energy in the room here. My regret, and my remorse, from plunking down seven bucks to just walk into this place, was providing its' own energy, albeit a very negative one. And this brings us to the final blow. The cost of the drinks here. Ruh-diculous!! The cooler was out, apparently, so we ordered two Abita drafts, a Purple Haze, and an Andygator. $9!!! For two teeny-tiny Louisiana-brewed drafts!! Not bottles!!! Drafts in plastic cups!! Like, a twelve ounce draft in a plastic cup was $4.50!! C'mon, now! I tipped the bartender a buck, so now we're talking TEN BUCKS!! For 2 beers!! Two draft beers in plastic cups, Ten Bucks!! Nooooo thank you!! No thank you!! So, to total up this lackluster evening, $17 for 2 small draft beers. And an absolute non-scene! A waste of valuable time that I could have been doing anything, really anything, else. For me, a $5 cover, and $3 draft would've been far more agreeable. $11 versus $17. Maybe not a big deal to some, but for me, it was enough to cease operations on what was already a rather disappointing night.
