If you're looking for well seasoned fried fish or catfish or seafood poboys that you won't be able to finish because they're huge, here is your spot! It's a small "hole in the wall" place where the owner/chef will often make an appearance to your table for a chat. Parking is tricky so be aware of that. Also, we took an elderly lady from church there for lunch and she did struggle with her walker to get onto the delightful back porch dining area. The small dining space inside was completely full and people were steadily lining up to place their orders. I had the blackened shrimp salad with house-made remoulade dressing and cher, poo yi, it was good! I'll definitely go there again! What's the one thing one should eat in LA while passing through? Local Crawfish! Market price and my budget made it not advantageous to get a mess of them to shell and eat. it's in the Mac 'n cheese, y'all! Everything was seasoned to perfection and their house blends of sauces, dips and butters are worth the visit alone! (See pics) My only complaint is the music that eventually got turned on that had some profane language that was off putting. The genre was not the issue just the lyrics; I love me some Tauren Wells or Lecrae. Sweet, very polite, patient, helpful lady behind the register made you feel welcome and at home. Larry, the owner was on sight and answered promptly to questions I posted via Yelp before stopping in; he also tended some customers so they got their food hot when ready while the cashier was taking others orders. read more

I love the po-boy bread they use! Fried fish and fried shrimp have good flavor (too much heat for my husband and son but they can't handle any heat). Shrimp are small but good. Also love the glass bottle Cokes, Dr Pepper, Sprite, and root beer. Inside seating is limited but plenty of seating outside in the covered patio area. read more

Came with a few small potatoes and 1 piece of corn and the remaining was crawfish. The seasoning is a bit spicier than other crawfish places. I loved the flavors blended. Because it's only February, crawfish are still small and not fully grown yet but that's okay because the taste blended is delicious. TRY THEIR BEIGNETS! Service was great. The gentleman working was so polite and was working very hard. The atmosphere is casual. The menu looked good with plenty of options. However, we decided on the boiled crab, shrimp, crawfish platter. It seems as if the meat isn't soaked in the boil but just sprinkled with seasoning which made it super salty. I'm here to rave about the snowballs. They're basically ice cold, super fluffy balls of juicy joy. They don't have a crazy list of flavors, but they've got a solid list; plus they have some specialty situations that involve multiple syrups and blue bell ice cream too. The price is good, the ice is perfection and I'm basically a fan. The grave tragedy in my adult life is a new shellfish allergy so I couldn't even indulge in the seafood situation, but my friend that brought me here expressed deep deep regret about what I was missing out on. She and her husband love it. I will say that the scents and the crowd lead me to believe that the whole situation is legit. Authentic, excellently prepared Louisiana food, made fresh, and served in generous proportions. The restaurant's facilities are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. There are options for eating inside or outdoors on a screened porch, and I have enjoyed both. The service is friendly and accommodating, just like the owner, who frequently visits with his guests. I've had catfish, roast beef (with debris), and shrimp po-boys, as well as the shrimp platter. Each was exceptionally well-prepared and delicious. The shrimp on the po-boys are smaller than those on the platter, but the smaller shrimp, which were brimming over, give the po-boy the best bite and mouthful. A thoughtful choice. Also, finding Leidenheimer bread in northwest Louisiana was such a treat. A true Louisiana experience!! The restaurant also offers an assortment of local brews. I've never had their sno-balls, but they sound super yummy. This is definitely a place to visit if you're local or while in Shreveport if you're passing through. Don't miss Larry P's. read more

Almost every time I'm in my hometown, Shreveport, La I get seafood. I just feel like there's a major difference between seafood in Texas and Louisiana-sauce, the way food is cooked, just about everything is different. --------------------- So this time, we found a food truck off of Bert Kouns called @larrypsboilingpot ! The reviews on here were great AND they had beignets . So we couldn't resist. So we ordered 3 orders of the 25 shrimp with potato and corn ($17.99 each) , 2 orders of the 3 crab clusters with potato and corn ($25.00 each) and some beignets. Got all the sauces too! Lol ------------------- I will be honest. At first glance,I did not think it was going to be seasoned because I didn't see the seasoning BUT that's because the seasoning is where it's supposed to be, IN the food, not on the outside of it. I took one bite out of the potato and was hit with the flavor. The flavor was INSIDE the meat of the crab. While we used the Cajun sauce and garlic butter for dipping, we didn't NEED it. I'll be honest, the crab looked small but it was filled with meat. We almost couldn't finish eating lol because it actually turned out to be a lot. It had more of a sweetness to it like crab is supposed to have instead of a bunch of salt and etc. Beignets were gone in 60 seconds Perfecto! I didn't really think the presentation of the food was all that great but we took it to go, it was in silver pans. I guess I shouldn't expect much from that ‍ lol. read more

The food was attempted to be eaten in the restaurant. When I got the food from you I went to the table IN THE RESTAURANT. I never could bite it so I opened it up and found a ball of fat and gristle that was so disgusting that I put to the side. So I tried to eat the ff. They were so old and cold that I couldn't even choke one down. At least 1/2 hour or more old. I was so hungry that day I could have eaten just about anything. You prepared this mess the 1st time, so why should I believe you would do any better the second time around. You knew those ff were old and cold yet you still put them in the box. You should be ashamed as an owner of a business to serve that mess. Then you want to act all indignant because I tell people about it. Shame on you! read more

First time visitor, food truck located on knight street. As for me and my taste buds, the catfish was amazing. Just the right about of breading. Looked like a combination flour and corn meal breading but more heavy on the corn meal (like I prefer) but just enough flour to hold it on the catfish perfectly. The wedge fries were excellent. After I got my plate, lots of my coworkers left and got their catfish as well . Everyone is very well pleased with their food. The catfish is amazing. Food was ok but nothing special. there was 5 of us and we waited about 40 minutes for our order ( 4 poboys) & then one order wasn't ready, (boiled shrimp) & we had to wait another 15 mins for it! we we're finished before he got his. My first time here and I tried the wedding crasher and an order of beignets. Both items did not disappoint. The beignets were fresh and my kids devoured them. The snocone is one of the best in Shreveport. I will be going back to try the boiled shrimp tomorrow. read more
