We went here as I always tended to drive by here on my way to CVS before I go to Horseshoe and then when the train comes by this place is like right there. This place sell an assortment of items as Vietnamese food and the fried seafood. Unfortunately, they did not have any oysters, but the owner recommends the crawfish and the crab. We got the crab an one for $9 dollars. Was definitely not worth the price as it was small. My wife got the pho and she said it was just okay and nothing too special. I ended up getting the alligator po boy and that was really good. The place is a little on the high side and I have to admit the crab was a little on the salty side. This has been my go to crawfish place since 2015 the staff you know me I love everyone the service is great. I love how the staff constantly check on you and the staff really noticed if you i look troubled. The staff will go out of their way to make sure your time is the best that it can be the atmosphere is great. I feel like I'm at home whenever I step in there it's very welcoming. My first initial thought of the build was this is a mini grocery store.. I'm from New Orleans so don't judge me... we are used to building switching up lol. Ok presentation is everything next to taste. Everything looked good and tasted just as good. Boy when o day them crawfish egg rolls were the truth and I don't even like crawfish... we rece ordered 2 pound crawfish and a shrimp po boy and the crawfish tasted like cleaner like something the cleaned the place with ,it also tasted old ,with no juice and was dry ,the po boy my girlfriend was eating and she picked out a grey hair in her lettuce in the po boy the corn and potatoes were fine they were just plain and the fried shrimp was plain but was also fine just didnt Have seasoning. They have a shrimp poboy that is almost exactly like it's from New Orleans, with plenty of fried shrimp. It's the closest I I've found up here. Note--cocktail sauce is $1.00 extra, but when you need cocktail sauce, you'll pay the dollar. read more

Crawfish was cold and over cooked. It was very clearly not fresh. The vegetables were not cooked in the boil with the crawfish but rather just boiled in water so they had zero flavor. This post is a bit over due, my family went to Shreveport over Easter weekend and we stopped by Kim's three days in a row for crawfish! They do not disappoint on each day. Get there early or else prepare to wait in line and table. Crawfish are never small and the spice is on point! Not sure why I'm seeing all the negative review but they don't understand what great seafood taste like. Also snow crap legs were cooked perfectly, along with their fried catfish and oysters. Only small disappointment is their sausages, I'm not a fan of that brand they use. But you are at a seafood restaurant to eat seafood not sausages. The restaurant is small and simple but the food is great. I eat here two years ago and I finally had a opportunity on my way back from New Orleans. I will take every opportunity to eat here that I can. The crab legs were seasoned so well that no butter or dips were required. My favorite was the boiled shrimp but everything we had was great. Stopped into Kim's Seafood (AKA Kim's Place) while on a side-trip from a hunting trip to Texas and met some friends in Shreveport/Bossier. It's in a strip mall with fluorescent lighting and plastic chairs. However, ambience aside, this place was quite good. I ordered a combo plate with fried catfish, shrimp and oyster. Everything tasted quite fresh and delicious and my friends all liked what they'd ordered (boiled shrimp combo and tilapia plate). I was hoping to go back the following day for a crack at some crawfish (we west-coasters didn't know what to make of those things, but after watching everyone else in the place eating crawfish, I thought I was up to the task). Unfortunately, the timing didn't work and we couldn't fit it in but everybody else in the place was loving the massive buckets of boiled crawfish. I give it 5 stars on food quality and 3 on environment. It was never supposed to be fine dining, but it just seems like it could be made more comfy because it is a down-home kind of place. The crawfish is great. Last season they gave an option for spicy crawfish instead of just making the crawfish spicy. Very smart decision to go back to making the crawfish spicy from the beginning. I've had the gator, my girlfriend had the catfish, my cousins had the shrimp. I love gator but this not good gator. My gf said the same of the catfish. If you visit Louisiana, you have to get some good Po' Boys, and you have to eat some good seafood when it's in season. Right now, it's Crawfish season, and Kim's doesn't disappoint! I went twice, once for lunch, the second time for dinner. As others have mentioned, this is a pretty bare bones spot inside - you order at the counter, you get a seat at one of the long tables, you watch TV or maybe step into the video poker room. Everything else is white walls, a few beer ads, and a LOT of Saints flags. But it's OK, because once the smell hits your nose, you know things are going to be OK. The Po' Boys are served on awesomely thick, crusty bread that holds up to the filling and toppings. I went for gator on mine, complimented by the mayo, sliced tomatoes, and lettuce, but it's the hot sauce on their tables that takes it to the next level. The fries are pretty basic, but they come in a good portion, so it's decent enough. Fried oysters or crab are both good sides or main courses, and come in a crispy, tasty cornbread batter that I'd bet is used for most of the different options. Now, then, let's talk about those crawdads. You order by the pound, and if you're staying in, they'll take a wide plastic dish and load it up on a scale with massive heaping scoops of steamed and seasoned mudbugs. You can also add bags of smoked andouille or steamed corn and potatoes for a few dollars each, which I recommend, and when I was there they also had house made Pork Boudin sausages available as well. If you're going to go, the crawdads will get bagged up after weighing in, and the spicy smell of the seasoned crustaceans will fill your entire car, which is not a bad thing at all. Crack them open and you get a nice bite of salty-spicy seasoning, pefect with just a bit of butter or remoulade, but just fine plain, too. After I finished a pound, I was stuffed yet wanted more almost immediately! read more

The gumbo was a salty, gummy mess and the shrimp po-boy had an abundance of over-cooked small shrimp, fried in old grease, swimming in a sea of mayonnaise. Maybe, I should have gotten crawfish. Favorite for south Louisiana seafood up "north." I'm from South Louisiana, & this is the only place up here you can get a poboy that's authentic. He ships the bread in from New Orleans. I came to Kim's after just leaving a supposedly well known poboy restaurant in which the poboy I had looked as if parasites had eaten holes in the meat. My wife and I threw both of ours in the trash. It was getting late so I figured Id try Kim's because I saw them earlier on Yelp and the food looked descent. There were a lot of people there but I know that doesn't indicate the quality of the food. I ordered the seafood poboy and my wife the gumbo. I bit into it and could not taste the shrimp or the oysters, there was only a faint taste of fish inspite of all three being present. So basically I got possibly precooked seafood that was tasteless.
