My first initial thought of the build was this is a mini grocery store.. I'm from New Orleans so don't judge me... we are used to building switching up lol. Ok presentation is everything next to taste. Everything looked good and tasted just as good. Boy when o day them crawfish egg rolls were the truth and I don't even like crawfish... I love a good French bread with shrimp on it. It was lightly toasted, shrimp were seasoned well and when I say shrimp were falling off the poboy with every bite... My husband and Wanda enjoyed the alligator bites and the sausage poboy was flavorful and hot to their satisfaction. If in the area we will stop again.

Highly recommend this place. We tried a little bit of everything and nothing disappointed. Every dish was full of flavor and left us wanting more.

Great portions, great flavors and FRESH. All parties agreed we will be back when we are in town again! Shrimp pho was well liked as well as the chicken lo mein. I tried a bite and a sip of each and was impressed. Prices are higher than I normally pay in Houston but the portions and taste sure made up for that!

A Bit Disappointed.. The Food isn't bad but its not that Great either.. they charge for EVERYTHiNG..!! They Charge for Butter for your potatoes and Corn.. they barely speak english and they are not very friendly or Helpful...I tried it before and it was pretty good but this time was NOT GOOD..!

Seafood po boy - shrimp and catfish and oysters oh my!!

Omg y'all - this seafood po boy is off the chain!! The combo came with fries but don't fool with those - direct your attention to the plentiful shrimp, catfish, and oysters in this sandwich! This was my first time but it won't be my last!

Mr Duong We only ate the seafood. As I stated the rest was canned! If I had enjoyed one thing, I wouldn't have called you out! I noticed you changed your first picture. You don't sell fresh raw oysters? It was on your picture also. False advertising

The happy hour specials had to be asked about, however the bartender/server was very attentive and responsive. I ordered the Mango Cart beer along with the sampler of charbroiled oysters. The bartender also brought out some bread. I had high hopes for the oysters, and although you get a variety, they left me feeling somewhat disappointed. The Rockefeller had way too much spinach, the charbroiled was dry and had too much bread crumbs, the crab stuffed was okay and to my surprise the Diablo was my favorite. I also got some bread pudding which came out pipping hot. It tasted okay although it was too much for one person. Overall I gave the meal 4 stars The next day I came back with friends and we sat in the dining area. This was disastrous. The server let us know she was going to come back and help us after she got the LARGE group next to us taken care of but would put our order in first. Then she forgot about us. Actually told us she had already put their order in and proceeded to take our order. Then she had to come back and confirm (which was wrong) as she didn't write anything down. We started off with an order of crab stuffed mushrooms. Although the stuffing was tasty, as a whole it wasn't something I'd order again. I ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 - 1/2 poboy and gumbo. Food was just okay. The sandwich was dry, the gumbo was mostly rice. My friend, who we were celebrating, was disappointed with her food. When it came to the table she saw fries and asked was there an option and the server said yes, and she proceeded to ask her what she would have liked instead. However the fish was dry, the shrimp was overcooked and the veggies (that she replaced for the fries) was the highlight of her meal. Unfortunately we also both got sick which we assumed was from the mushrooms as it's the only thing we both had. So this visit gets 2 stars.

The process here (at least when we went) is order at the counter, get seated and then the food is delivered to you. So, service is kind of lacking due to no real waiter/waitress. Maybe earlier in the day would have been better? Overall, our entrees were fine but neither of us finished them and didn't like them enough to take the rest to go. The potato's and "green beans" (haricots verts) were so amazing and delicious. The dessert was so tasty, I couldn't stop eating. One-Star Review - Unprofessional Conduct That Completely Ruined Our Evening…read moreThis review reflects my personal experience during a visit to The Hunter Crab. After being seated, my wife and I waited an extended period before our main order was even taken. During this time, multiple tables that arrived and were seated after us were able to order and receive their food before we were given the opportunity to place our main order, which immediately set a negative tone. Our appetizer (crab cakes) and drinks arrived in reasonable time, but the issues escalated with the main courses. My wife ordered two clusters of snow crab legs at medium spiciness. When the dish arrived, an entire claw was missing. The plate was taken back and replaced with food that was not what was originally ordered. Instead of medium, it was significantly spicier and caused discomfort when eaten. We have ordered this same dish here before and are familiar with its normal spice level. I ordered the catfish basket with Cajun fries. The fish was extremely hot when served, so I waited before eating it. When I did, it was overcooked in my opinion, rubbery in texture, and the batter separated in large chunks. My wife attempted to speak with a manager but was told no manager was on the premises. A bartender stated the meals could be remade and the bill discounted. Before that could happen, another male employee was brought to our table, and this is where the experience became unacceptable. Rather than listening or attempting to resolve the situation, this employee immediately became combative, argumentative, and dismissive. He repeatedly told my wife she was wrong about the spice level and insisted the food was correct, even after she explained it burned her mouth. His tone was confrontational and unprofessional. When he addressed me, the same behavior continued. I calmly explained the problems with my meal, and he dismissed everything I said, repeatedly insisting the food was great and implying that our experience was incorrect. At no point did he attempt to de-escalate, apologize, or show concern for the customer experience. His focus appeared to be on arguing rather than resolving the issue. Throughout this interaction, I was clearly wearing a combat veteran hat. This restaurant does offer a military discount, and it has been provided to us during prior visits. However, during this visit it was never offered or mentioned at any point, which stood out given the circumstances. At no point did we ask for free food. I stated clearly that I did not want my meal remade and simply wanted to pay and leave. As the employee continued to argue, I stood up to proceed to the register so we could exit. Despite no threats, no physical contact, and no aggressive actions on my part, law enforcement was called, which escalated the situation unnecessarily. When I began recording for my own documentation, the officers' behavior and attempts to block the phone felt intimidating to me, adding further stress. What made this especially upsetting was that the combined behavior of the employee and the officers made it feel as though we would not be allowed to leave unless we paid the full bill, despite everything that had occurred. In that moment, it felt as though disputing the charges or seeking further resolution could lead to further detention or arrest, which was extremely uncomfortable. What should have been an enjoyable date night turned into an overwhelming sense of disappointment. The lack of professionalism, absence of management, hostile employee behavior, and unnecessary escalation completely ruined our evening. We left frustrated, uncomfortable, and stressed, having paid full price with no meaningful resolution or recourse offered for the issues we experienced. This was not simply about food quality--it was about how customers were treated. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend dining here.
