We are visiting from out of town, former residents, and craved good Chinese that's not available where we now live. Thought we'd try it, since our old regular place was closed. Wasn't the best Chinese food I've had. The chicken in the Empress chicken was at least 60% breading. Very small piece of actual meat. And the crab ragoons were oddly thin. Not what I'm used to and just not as good. The price was about the same as an upscale excellent Chinese restaurant right down the street! Which we went to the next day to get our fix and really enjoyed it. Will stick to what we know from now on. read more

Great place. Food was hot. Meat wasn't overdone. Sweet & sour soup was incredible. Several was very attentive with water.

This is good takeout Chinese and also seems like it has comfortable seating for those wishing to dine in. It's in a good location, across from LSUS, in the Campus Walk Shopping Center. We ordered General Tso's Chicken and Chicken with Vegetables, each with fried rice and egg roll. All fresh and tasty and really too much food to eat in one sitting. I'd definitely say this place is in my top five of Shreveport-Bossier Chinese food places. I am sure that we will order takeout from here again, and maybe even dine in on the rare occasion. I am looking forward to trying their crab rangoons and chicken and corn chowder. fried shrimp was great and fresh. However the wontons were not so great. They were not fresh, threw them out.

I read the reviews and chose this to try. I am not sure if I went there on a bad day or if the others have no idea what good food actually is. We ordered the Orange Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken to go. I wanted the Hot and Sour soup with mine. I picked it up to go. She was very friendly and nice and I was happy about that part. I got home, unpacked the food, and I did not have the right soup. The soup I had looked like perhaps won ton soup? It had absolutely no flavor and could not eat it. My kung pao chicken was not good at all. Extremely disappointed in it. A very strange flavor with odd, thin, rubbery chicken. I was excited to get one of my favorite meals but it quickly turned to sadness. All I can say is that the rice was ok. The orange chicken was not that good and my other half agreed to not spend any more money there. All and all, The service was good, the restaurant was clean, but the food was a huge disappointment. I have sampled a lot of Chinese food from NY to DC and now to Shreveport, lA. I have to say I ordered delivery. Very prompt and friendly. I ordered my food extra spicy, now being american I'm always concerned that the chef thinks I can't handle it. I have to say the chef got it right! I got it spicy and the whole peppers in my dish. My mom ordered combination rice that was $9 and some egg rolls. She got home and put a small portion on the plate. She took five bites of rice and a bite of the egg roll. She was done. She didn't care for it. I ate what was left. The shrimp was tiny and I didn't see any pork. I feel like it lacked seasoning. I did like the bite of onions here and there. I got the Vegetable delight, and after having it at several other places, just assumed it would be the same here. I was wrong. It was half cooked vegetables (delicious anyway) swimming, and suffocating in a dark, brown, gravy type sauce. That sauce ruined the vegetables. And it was so thick, I couldn't even just scrape it off. Well, lesson learned, for a couple of extra dollars I could have had a great veggie meal at Imperial Cathay. Great Chinese food to go. When we do sit down, we prefer Imperial, but China Bear is what we do for to go. it is about half the price of Imperial, and they have very good Mongolian beef, orange chicken, and chicken w/ vegetables. read more
