After 5 years, I guess I'm overdue for a upgrade on that 3 star review. It had been COVID. Things were not great. But not so bad that I haven't continued to frequent the business. Usually through the convenient drive through window. Just call in your order and it'll probably be ready when you get there. This review will be focused on my last dine in visit. June 6th 6:20 PM- party of 2. We were sat around the corner in a secluded table. Simma was pretty okay with it. Taste China has a somewhat limited "full" bar offering liquor, beer and wine. Our ML arrived at 6:26 ($4) Appetizers at 8:30 and 8:33 (eggrolls and pot stickers) the food wasn't overly greasy. The Eggrolls were crispy and flaky, while the potstickers were a combination of crispy and chewy. Jason usually orders the LSU roll- a battered and fried sushi roll. He gives it 5 stars. I would prefer to chuck it the garbage. No star. He likes it because it does not have avocado. I hate it because it's hot and fried. (Picture included) Last time we were there I ordered the Happy Family ($16) a deliciously saucy blend of several meat- chicken , beef, shrimp, crawfish and scallops. On this visit we agreed to share and I ordered the same dang thing. (Imma have to expand my menu) Everything was delicious. The service was Amazing.dinner for 2 was $36. I lived in Japan for several years off and on... and even though I wasn't expecting world class sushi out of a Chinese restaurant in Louisiana... I figured it would at least be enjoyable. The salmon maki was six small pieces, the normal order is eight and they should be at least an inch across , plus my chopstick was thicker than the salmon that they used. OK, let's try a spicy tuna poke bowl,, pretty hard to screw that up, right? Wrong... huge bowl of rice with about a dozen tiny flakes of old tuna coated in flavored cracker... with a tablespoon of edamame and 10 slivers of cucumber... drenched in thousand island dressing . So I ordered the takoyaki, I mean, that's just pancake batter with a good hunk of octopus... even kids can make that on the griddle... but not here! Normal order is eight, they gave me four frozen takoyaki balls, which they don't cook long enough, so the inside is completely watery/mushy, and the tako inside was smaller than a pea, and still frozen solid! Then the manager wanted to argue with me that fish is really expensive ... and I'm like well so are your prices... so where is the value? Either do it right... or take it off the menu... because this is an insult to Japanese cuisine! read more

I could not recognize any of the proteins that we received (supposedly "beef" and "chicken"). I am a licensed health inspector so I've seen some things. I'd love to see this kitchen let me tell you because I have serious concerns about this place. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I'm writing this review to warn people. Check out the photos of "chicken" fried rice, and fried "meat" wontons. Both ended up looking and tasting horrible. The chicken looked and tasted like mysterious fried dough and the "beef"was a similar brown pasty texture. Within minutes of tasting, my stomach was awfully upset, and I couldn't eat it. Read the reviews and had to check this place out. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Our waitress took our order and then disappeared. Probably going off shift. However she forgot one of our egg roll orders and our dumpling order. When they brought our appetizer dumplings after our main courses were served they were only half cooked and not very hot. The cashew chicken had no sauce and no taste. Egg Fo Yung and Mongolian beef were fine. Hot and sour and egg drop soups fine. Won Ton soup only had one dumpling. If you are looking for the worst possible sushi known to man, look no further. My girlfriend and I both got sick no more than an hour after ingesting this so called sushi. The last time I went I ordered at the restaurant and carried out, there were 2 dead ants in one of my boxes. The food just overall didn't seem that fresh. I was surprised about the ants, I got turned off from eating the rest of the food. Don't get me wrong the customer service was not bad, this could have been a one off, because the other times I've gone were okay, that had never happened before. But overall, excluding the ants, I personally don't feel their food is that amazing. read more

Tonight I tried Triple China, I was not disappointed. It consisted of beef, shrimp and chicken in a tasty sauce. I added a spring roll and homemade hot mustard sauce. Be careful it will make your tongue go numb. I'm looking forward to trying another dish. I do recommend getting the dinner dishes for 3 or 4 dollars more you can have some tomorrow. read more

To begin with, we have ate here many times before and generally have no issues. But the last few time we have gone their prices and what they want to charge have gotten out of hand. My issue is when you order an entrée the menu says you can choose " 2 sides". It does stipulate you have to get one of this or that. So when my wife and I ordered an entrée we asked for 2 soups. My wife wanted an egg roll as an extra. When the bill came the owner charged us 3.99 for the second soup and not the 1.79 for the egg roll. When we pointed out the discrepancy, she said you can order 2 soups with the entrée. I pointed out that the menu does not say that, and she got mad and indignant saying you can't do that and I Not going to argue about it. No argument, just fix your menu and stop trying to get as much as you can out of a customer. Just like charging a dollar for the fried noodles with your soup that everybody else gives you with your soup. It's not the amount of money but just trying to charge for every little thing is going overboard. Because of this issue we will not be patronizing this establishment anymore. read more

I've been going here for years. The food and service is always excellent. Unfortunately, since the pandemic their prices seem to have skyrocketed disproportionately to other restaurants. Also, they now nickel and dime you on extras for take out that come with the meal when you dine in.
