My wife and I love this place! We have only ever gotten their food to go so I can't speak to the wait staff or decor. However they are always super friendly that I'd be will to wager that the service is pretty good here as well. I've had all of their curries and and easily recommend them all my wife is a big fan of their fried rice and after asking for a bite of her plate I can see why she likes it so much. Their pad Thai is good too, nothing amazing but still real good. Also they are one of the few places in town that has VERY good tofu. So good infact that it's my go to choice regardless of what dish I order. The only reason why I'm knocking a star off is their pricing. For what you get it's a tad on the pricey side. Found this resturant on Yelp with GREAT reviews. We were NOT disappointed. The place was a little hard to find at night, because of the sign. We were told that there is a better sign on the way. I had the Red Curry - medium spicy. Wow So good and spicy! Woo wee! She Had the Pad Woon Sen - medium spicy. We both thought the dishes were very good. We eneded the meal with the Mango sticky rice. This is one of the more Authentic Thai restaurants around Lees Summit/Blue Springs area. The owner and wait staff are super nice and efficient. The food was excellent and tasty! The flavors are pretty accurate to the real thing...I am half Thai and half American so I know my Thai food flavor profiles and lived in Thailand half of my life. I am impressed with how fast and good the food was. Mind you, the base of things is spicy so ask for mild if you don't like spicy heat. Loved stopping in for a solo lunch. The service was quick and extremely friendly! I stopped by around 12 on a Saturday and there were no open tables shorty after I arrived! Came here a little before Christmas for a family dinner with my MIL. And let me tell you the food was amazing!! We ordered Pad Thai, Pad See Eew, Spicy Basil Chicken, and Crab Rangoon. Personally, I'm not a fan of Crab Rangoon but that's only because I don't do cheese with my seafood. However, everything else was delicious! As for dessert, I ordered a Green Tea Ice cream. It was good but definitely tasted more of a creamy diary consistency which I'm not a fan of. The service was also great and the waitress definitely made it more of a great experience. This place was excellent. I am soooo stoked they parked this little gem in Independence. everything was delicious. The lemongrass flavor in that Tom Kha soup was so yummy. Very fresh tasting and flavorful Thai food. This month since opening restaurant is clean and service is excellent and friendly. I did take out for big family gathering, but was able to see the happy staff take care of a near full house of tables. My food was available when promised. We have vegetarians in the family and Thai Kitchen was able to accommodate the requests made for them. We got Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups made to order with vegetable broth on request and fried rice without egg but with tofu. All very tasty and well flavored. Also had Thai Ginger with vegetables that was spicy and ginger forward. The Panang Curry with Beef was richly flavored with a nice peanut curry sauce. My favorite, basil fried rice, made spicy was just as I like it and the chicken was moist and tender, too. Everyone was happy with their choices and there are some leftovers as the portions are good. We will definitely be back to explore more on the menu. Our first experience today was great and I would encourage others to give this new restaurant a try read more

BEST Thai Food in the area!! I've been looking for a great Thai restaurant ever since I moved to Kansas City. I'm originally from Japan, and I've noticed that the Asian food options here are very average. I was pretty disappointed with Thai Spice and some others, so initially I was a little reluctant to try Thai Kitchen. Actually my husband made me go, and I am so glad we did. Finally, we have a go to Thai restaurant in town! Thai Kitchen is fairly new, located just next door to Papa Johns. Looks like the building used to be Tokyo Star. They don't have an official sign up yet, but don't let that keep you from going in. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was very clean! The menu and prices were pretty typical, but the portions were very generous! We also noticed a cheaper lunch price that we're going to take advantage of in the future ($8.95 for a usual item). We ordered the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with shrimp and the panang curry with chicken. The flavor for both was perfect. My husband was thrilled with how good the drunken noodle was. We had absolutely no complaints. I'm looking forward to trying some of my other favorites on the menu! read more

The best eggrolls I have eaten in a long time in any restaurant that serves eggrolls!!! Every dish I ordered was simply delicious!!! The Tom Yum soup is flavorful with all the elements of goodness! I had to order Pad Thai because it is to Thai restaurants as Pho to Vietnamese restaurants. I was not disappointed at all. The Curry was great. The house salad was okay, the dressing made it much better. Food came out very quickly. Quality of food was a five star for sure. Salad was only reason I did t give it a five. 4.5 stars is a much more accurate rating. As far as spicy goes, I asked the server what her opinion was on heat levels they offer. She told me that the medium was pretty spicy. I enjoy spicy food and unfortunately medium is more mild than hot. I should have gone up to hit or Thai Hot. I'm a sucker for good Thai food and now I've found my go-to place. If you're a fan of delicious cuisine, relaxed atmospheres, and friendly waitstaff, I highly recommend heading over to Thai Kitchen in Independence. As usual I arrived with curry on the mind. I had eaten here previously and ordered yellow curry with chicken, so this time I wanted to try the green curry with shrimp! The waitress was super personable and eager to help me with my order. Since I arrived in time for lunch, I was offered my choice of soup or salad to go with my meal. I opted for the salad, which was fresh and crispy and came with (what I assume was) a sweet ginger dressing. With it I had my favorite Thai tea, which was perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweetness to contrast the dark tea. I think I'll try it hot next time because I already confirmed the cold version is delicious. The green curry was fresh and hot. Served with a side of rice and two crab rangoon (which I added to my appetizer plate shortly after for take home. My sibling loves crab rangoon and wanted to sample Thai Kitchen's). My curry had a delightful mix of eggplant, green and red bell peppers, basil, and delicious plump shrimp. The green curry is a little sweeter than the yellow due to the coconut milk but still has that spice that'll clear your sinuses. I think I ended up eating the green curry faster. It was so good! The owner of the restaurant came by my table to ask how my meal was. A very nice lady who thanked me for coming and got me a glass of water to go with my spicy food. The waitress checked on me throughout my meal and had no problem adding an extra round of crab rangoon to my ticket to go. Everyone is always super nice and I feel so comfortable dining there.
