I'm a sucker for good Thai food and now I've found my go-to place. If you're a fan of delicious cuisine, relaxed atmospheres, and friendly waitstaff, I highly recommend heading over to Thai Kitchen in Independence. As usual I arrived with curry on the mind. I had eaten here previously and ordered yellow curry with chicken, so this time I wanted to try the green curry with shrimp! The waitress was super personable and eager to help me with my order. Since I arrived in time for lunch, I was offered my choice of soup or salad to go with my meal. I opted for the salad, which was fresh and crispy and came with (what I assume was) a sweet ginger dressing. With it I had my favorite Thai tea, which was perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweetness to contrast the dark tea. I think I'll try it hot next time because I already confirmed the cold version is delicious. The green curry was fresh and hot. Served with a side of rice and two crab rangoon (which I added to my appetizer plate shortly after for take home. My sibling loves crab rangoon and wanted to sample Thai Kitchen's). My curry had a delightful mix of eggplant, green and red bell peppers, basil, and delicious plump shrimp. The green curry is a little sweeter than the yellow due to the coconut milk but still has that spice that'll clear your sinuses. I think I ended up eating the green curry faster. It was so good! The owner of the restaurant came by my table to ask how my meal was. A very nice lady who thanked me for coming and got me a glass of water to go with my spicy food. The waitress checked on me throughout my meal and had no problem adding an extra round of crab rangoon to my ticket to go. Everyone is always super nice and I feel so comfortable dining there. I've eaten both inside and gotten takeout multiple times. The restaurant on the inside is so nice and clean, and the staff is so kind. The food is incredible. I recommend getting the appetizer sampler so you can try several of their items. The spring rolls with the peanut sauce are my favorite. I also recommend trying the Thai iced tea! One thing I think they could add sometime in the future is bubble tea, I think it would bring so much more business in. 10/10 I will always go back. read more

I eat a lot of Thai food in a lot of places. Even though I like HOT, I have learned to go slow on the heat level until the second visit. How HOT can sweet and sour shrimp be? So, when given a choice, I ordered it medium. Two bites into my dinner my nose was sliding off my face and the top of my head was boiling. One of the best Thai restaurants in the KC metro. Same with the fresh spring rolls. I get those every time I go. The crab Rangoon are always fresh, hot and crispy. The spice levels are spot on, too. All of the curry dishes are great, my favorite is the green. The one item I would maybe stay away from is the Pho, if you are expecting the traditional Vietnamese style. It is definitely a Thai-influenced version. Fewer toppings, more mixed in ingredients and quite a lot of hoisin in the broth. THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL!!!!!! From the appetizer to the dessert so much flavor in every bite!! Their food here is made fresh and you can absolutely tell!! We had the sampler appetizer with crab Rangoon, spring rolls, and egg rolls- all three amazing flavor and the dipping sauces are made from scratch- hands down the best version of all these things at this place than anything else I've ever eaten. I got pad Thai and my husband red curry. Once again- so much flavor and large portions I'll have lunch for tomorrow!! For dessert we had mango sticky rice- oh.my. Gosh. Freaking delicious! Not too sweet but just right. the rice was warm with a sweet sauce and mango cold so when you mixed them it was perfect! Not a pleasing experience at $60 for 3 people takeout. Ordered online. Site claimed a 30-50 min wait. Got there after an hour...and...and...had to wait 15 more minutes on a non busy night. Food was okay. Nothing exceptional. The "mild" spice made me sweat and destroyed the Pad Thai flavors I love. The medium spice made my son (who likes spicy) say, oh-oh! Our order was messed up so I had to call and get reluctant permission to return the wrong item (they wanted it back???) and get the vegetarian version. She said it would be 5-10 minutes. Took me more than 15 and...and...and...had to wait another 10+. So, my meal was cold by the time I returned home. There's another Thai restaurant a few blocks away from this one that charges about 20% less and the food's as good--assuming Thai Kitchen's food is good under the overly spicy disguise. I have been ordering from Thai Kitchen often over the past year or so. The food is consistently delicious with high quality ingredients that keep me coming back for more. My favorite is the Vegetable Delight with chicken. I always order a side of steamed vegetables and the crab Rangoon or the sampler. Others I've brought along for sit down meals have loved the tofu and fried rice dishes as well. The vegetables are always super fresh and never mushy, chicken is delish and the appetizers are great. Consistently great food whether I order for sit down inside, drive through, or through Door Dash. Great, appropriate balance of savory and sweet. I feel good after eating this food instead of weighed down and sleepy. I especially appreciate how they use Door Dash since I live just north of the stadiums off Blue Ridge Cutoff - a 14min drive from Thai Spice. A lot of places won't deliver this far out so we're kind of stuck with few options for local delivery - but Door Dash opens a whole world of options.
