Good food , no argument there. We haven't been back because it is a bit over priced. An average dinner should , in this area, should run us $40-50. My friends and I love Thai Kitchen! We love it so much that we had Thai Kitchen cater one of our events. Thai Kitchen is owned and run by a really sweet family and they make the best authentic Thai dishes. Their lunch specials are especially awesome - prices range from $6-$8 for a variety of delicious Thai cuisine plus fried rice and a spring roll. They also bring out complementary dessert (mini cheesecakes!) afterwards. I have friends who can eat habaneros and ghost peppers without batting an eye and they take full advantage of the spice levels that Thai Kitchen offers. I usually go with 3 out of 5 and that's plenty spicy for me but if you want to challenge your taste buds, there's Thai hot (level 5) and they provide a spice rack. For those who are interested in getting Thai Kitchen to cater, my experience with their catering was excellent! I ordered 7 different dishes (4 Thai noodles, 2 chicken dishes, 1 vegetarian) for about $230. Our party had about 25 people...we ate for hours, stuffed ourselves silly, and still had about 1/3 of the food leftover. - Tom Kha soup: Really good! I enjoyed this warm coconut soup especially with chicken in it. - Pad Thai: My go to and always fantastic! - Gaeng Garie: I thought this curry was similar to Massaman but with an extra kick of spice. My boyfriend really liked this after he added extra spice from the spice rack. - Gaeng Panaeng: Yum!! They always have a generous amount of veggies in here and their panang is always good. - From the Sea: I was expecting tons of seafood but I was rather disappointed by the small scallops and non-existence of fish. I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time I ordered the tofu Pad Thai and the second time I had the Gang Garie. The tofu Pad Thai was excellent. It's definitely a choice that you would probably enjoy whether you've had Thai food before or not. The Gang Garie had a spicy curry sauce with potatoes, carrot, broccoli, and bell pepper. I have a really hard time believing some of these reviews unless they are written by locals who have never left the state of Georgia...I've lived all over the world in cities like NYC, DC and LA and visited Thailand--there's no way the dishes here pass as authentic Thai food even in a food desert like Augusta. Everything I ordered (for takeout) was so bland and flavorless I had to come home and add my own fish sauce, tamarind paste, dried shrimp, lime juice and salt. I am so happy I found this place!!!! I have been searching for a good Thai place in Augusta for a while now. My friends and I came in for dinner and it was "seat yourself" kind of a vibe and it's a family run establishment so it has the authentic home-y vibe that you want for a Thai restaurant. Whenever I go to a new Thai place I always order something that is something you can find at every Thai restaurant to see if it's any good. We got the pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, and one of the curries. The food came out prompt and it looked amazing. The serving sizes were huge and we had a ton of leftovers. My coworker took me here for "good Thai food" and I just played along after having some dry pad Thai at another local Thai restaurant. I was surprised to find myself eating pretty authentic Thai food & sharing a pot of rice with my coworker, just like when I visited Thailand years ago. Order any of the lunch specials (M-F; 11-3). They're such a great deal, especially during this crazy time of ordering takeout without crushing your wallet. I got the Gang Garie special, which was a good size portion. Next time, I'll ask for spicy level 4 or 5 for a kick. I had some left over for later too. I like the pad thai because it doesn't have that fake orange color to it. I also like the Thai fish sauce, so the taste doesn't bother me. The Tom Yum soup is great, but I wish it could be spicier because I like mouth burning spiciness. The papaya salad is pretty good, but I don't know any state on the east coast that can get papaya as fresh as the west coast or, of course, Thailand. It has nothing to do with the restaurant-just the fact that some foods don't travel well because they're supposed to be eaten when ripe and not put into a cargo plane. Even though the food is authentic, they are willing to change anything you want so you can customize your food. I've seen picky eaters substitute vegetables with tofu. They can make vegetarian dishes too. You just need to be specific about what you want. They don't use excessive thickening agents to appeal to the American preference if thick sauces on noddles and rice. Curry in Thailand is thinner than the curries that are typically sold in a lot of popular American restaurants. Also, you're going to taste fish sauce and other things in the pad thai, I think tamarind, that you probably didn't taste as whatever chain restaurant you went to. You just may not like real pad thai or need something toned down. Some people ask for a side of peanut sauce and mix that in at home. Whatever floats your boat. I think this restaurant is the most authentic Thai restaurant in the area. I wish they'd add some northern Thailand desserts to the menu, but I know that's a stretch. My parents took me to Thai Kitchen for lunch. I thought there were a few good things and a few not so good things. I was a bit unhappy with my main dish though, hence the three stars. Maybe I'll change it if I go back and try more dishes, especially the curry! I got the pad see ew. This is the wide flat noodles with broccoli, carrots and some meat. This is usually my go-to dish at Thai places. I thought this one was underwhelming. It was not really that flavorful, and you could tell because the noodles were very lightly colored. They probably could have used more sauce. Also the noodles were very small (not wide) so I'm wondering if that had something to do with. I liked my mom's pineapple fried rice better. It was a lot more flavorful and I liked the cashews sprinkled in. They could have added more pineapple though! My dad's duck noodle soup - well I tried the duck meat and it was tasty. The service was a little bit slow. They barely came by to refill water or ask for anything. The manager did give us free chocolate cake which was really nice of him! This was my go to for Thai because the food was tasty with very reasonable prices! However, my friend recently found a roach in to-go order of basil chicken. Not just any bug but a house roach. Our favorite Thai restaurant in the Augusta area. We've never had a problem with the food or service. Highly recommended. Some reviews seem overly critical. Not sure if there's really a problem with the restaurant or if the reviewers are just pretentious jerks. For example: "English isn't their first language". Who cares? Really. They speak it well enough to greet you, take your order, and say goodbye. If you're trying to order something off-menu or extra special, then *maybe* there could be a problem in translation, but again, is that a problem with the restaurant or you being pretentious? If you want your food "Thai hot", then just ask and they'll load it up with all the hot pepper you want, but it won't affect the taste. Pure heat is no good. Heat and flavor IS, and that's what you get here. The food is not only delicious, but super speedy. A small disclaimer: I usually get only a few of the items from the menu--curries and such--so I can't speak for the entire menu. Service is always friendly, even when they're busy. Never a problem with drink refills and removing finished plates. The decor is minimal and the space small, but in my opinion it's a good thing. There's nothing like a large, fancy, overpriced restaurant with terrible food and/or service. I'll take good food and service with minimal decor any day. And, no, I've never been to Thailand and eaten there, so I'm not going to compare this to real Thai food. It's a Thai restaurant in America, so I guess it's going to have an American taste. On the lifelong quest for places with quality Pad Thai, I finally made my way to this place. Location is never a determinate for me, as the best food is well camouflaged by the building it's located in. You do have a large parking lot, as it is part of a string of stores. Seating is limited (I would guess 30, maybe 40 max?) so go at a off time if you don't want to wait or take your order to go. For it being a smaller sized space, I feel the need to mention the noise level was minimal. I didn't notice any music, there were no televisions, and the team there spoke at a hushed volume. It was very peaceful. I started out with spring rolls and dumplings, to be followed by Pad Thai (of course). The spring rolls were on the mark with texture and flavor. I know it may seem simple, but I have bitten into many a spring roll overcooked and/or lacking the flavor of anything aside from cooking oil. This was not the case. The crunch of the outer wrapping and the crippyness of the carrot and bean sprout were delightful. The dumplings do not come out in the Americanized version we often expect. They are wrapped tightly, resembling large buttons. Don't worry, the flavor is still the same. Then came the Pad Thai. If I had known the size of this dish I might have skipped the starters. But I managed (it was tough) to eat it all. Those perfectly cooked noodles with the crushed peanut on one side and the wedge of lime on the other called me in like a siren amidst raging waters. I was pleased 1) to be eating great Pad Thai and 2) to know there was yet another restaurant in town to fill that craving. I could have literally rolled out of the place at that point, but I soon experienced what others have mentioned in their review, a small piece of chocolate cake. Consistently good food! The chicken wings are rivals for the best in the area. We also get the green curry chicken, which is always delightful. The crab Rangoons are good. I was graving some Shrimp Pad Thai and decided to try this place based off of recommendations. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai, the Drunken Noodles with chicken, the kids teriyaki chicken and the fried chicken wings. The Pad Thai was ok. There was nothing special about it. It was on the drier side (which I am not use to) but over all it was just ok. My husband said the drunken noodles were dry as well. My kid liked the teriyaki chicken. The broccoli was a little hard but I just cut off the stems and it was fine. A few of the chicken wings were super hard but the ones that were not over cooked were good (especially with the spicy dipping sauce). I heard that they gave you lemon cake for free on the side but I was shocked when I saw that it was chocolate. It was really good and it tasted like the center layer was cream cheese. Overall, the food was just ok. If I were to comeback, I would request they not make the noodles so dry. read more

When this restaurant first changed hands several years ago, it was very disappointing. We went here after a long time to see if it has improved. It looks like it has changed owners again since then. I use Pad Thai as my "gold standard" for judging a Thai restaurant. The Pad Thai was good, but not quite right. Something I as missing. It didn't have as much of the tanginess from the tamarinds I expected in Pad Thai. Another expected flavor was missing too, but I'm not sure what that is. Overall good. We'll be going back. read more
