We are definitely lacking Thai food here on the Westside and Thai Kitchen was a welcome addition. It may not be the best Thai food I've ever had, but I don't think there is any actually in town that is the best I've had, so you can't use that against them. The location is very convenient and it's a very nicely decorated place. We sat outside since it was a nice summer evening. The food is very fresh and tastes of that wholesome yummy warmth you get from Thai food in general. We ordered the crab rangoon, which wasn't too greasy and was yummy. We also got our old standbys. I love Masamun, Panang curry and usually pick out dishes with lots of vegetables. Everything tasted spot on and gave us enough heat. The staff was excellent. Sometimes when you sit outside you get ignored, but not here. They brought us refills on our sodas without asking and visited with us a bit to see how we were doing. Very clean with a great staff. The service is one of the best in the Albuquerque area. The food has its own spin on Thai cuisine and is delightful with fresh ingredients. The cost is reasonable and better than most Thai restaurants in the area. The only points that keep it from being a five star rating was the portions. They were very inconsistent. Two basil chicken dishes that were ordered with our party came out with a very different amount of meat. Normally not a big issue, but in this case one person received about 20% of the amount of chicken compared to the exact same dish. I would also say overall, the meat portions are a little on the light side. The Pad Thai dish only had about 1/4 of a chicken breast for the entire entree; it took away from the meal. I will return, it might have been a bad day for the cook. read more

We have missed good Thai food. We moved here 10 years ago and resigned ourselves to cooking Thai at home if we wanted it. Friends recommended Thai Kitchen and I had high hopes. We were not disappointed. I had the pumpkin curry and my husband had Thai fried rice both medium heat. We overheard the waitress ask another table if they knew the difference between hot and Thai hot. The medium was nicely spiced with just enough kick. I had a little fried rice envy after snagging a bite off my husband's plate. Yum! The curry was silky and well balanced with chunks of pumpkin, chicken, and red bell pepper. Yeahhh so here's the thing, although the food was good the service was something to be, shall we say, desired. I arrived here with a friend for lunch and had to wait a bit for a booth, no problem, but as we were being seated I noticed there were only a few wait staff for the entire restaurant. That would end up being a problem. We waited a while for our appetizers and our main course and, my pet peeve, having to wait on a water refill. Now I don't think it was for lack of trying I think they were short staffed, but I also think that staff could benefit from more training. All that being said, the food was good. I had the no.22 (i think) from the lunch menu and the fried tofu appetizer (of course). My friend had the Padseew and spring rolls and both looked quite good too. We come here for the jungle noodle and tam kah soup! They're amazing!! I'm sure there are other things that are great but we can't seem to break away from these! Tip: if you get the jungle noodle get it medium if you like spicy stuff, the hot and extra hot are serious! You can always add more spice, but you can't take it away. read more

We've tried to dine here many times, but it was always too busy in here. Today, we finally got a chance to try it. So happy to see a Lunch Menu on hand. The service was great! Served with thr soup on the day, a rice type with vegetables and tofu. We got to try the Chicken Pad Thai and the Chicken Panang Curry. Both were very flavorful and savory. My pad thai didn't need extra lime juice like many pad thai's I've tried in other Thai restaurants. The curry was just right, it was so creamy! 2nd time here in my last 2 visits to Albuquerque. If you're a fan of curry, then this is your place! I wanted to try a different curry upon my return visit, but stuck with the Panang Curry with shrimp - extra hot. Lunch portions are perfect size and the Panang is delicious. Very impressed with this restaurant. Great service, decor, and most importantly food! Ordered the Thai iced coffee which just as great as expected. I ordered the chicken pad thai, it was easily the best pad thai I have ever had. Husband orders the special; pumpkin curry and I was a bit jealous I hadn't ordered that. It was spicy and sweet and all around had great flavor, it came with an order of white rice. Both portions were so big that we both left with leftovers for dinner tomorrow. This was our first time trying this place & we'll definitely be returning soon! The food was delicious, staff was friendly, and it was nice & tidy! I got the Pad Thai with chicken & tofu ($1 up charge for the combo option). It was a hearty portion of flavorful noodles. The chicken/tofu and noodle ratio was spot on! My girlfriend got the Yellow Curry with chicken which is severed with a side of rice. This dish was beyond amazing and deliciously flavored! 0.5 star review! Can you give 1/2 a star? Because I would if I could. Bad service from the top (the owner), to the bottom (the 2 employees we had to deal with). We ordered green curry tofu with NO spice and 2 other dishes. We are both in our 50s, are Asian and half Asian, have had spicy food and Thai food for all our lives and can tolerate it, are NOT inexperienced restauranteurs, and are reasonable people. The green curry tofu came out quite spicy. We asked the server about it. The 2 servers were super defensive telling us green curry has bell pepper which is spicy. We tried explaining that we had bell pepper all our lives and it is not bell pepper spice. We asked if we could order something else. The female server said "yes, it'll take 45 minutes". We thought she did not understand what we meant since we already sat down and had our appetizer. She insisted it was gonna take 45 minutes if we wanted to order something else. Long story short, they took the green curry dish back to the kitchen. After debating we asked to bring it back cause we wanted to be flexible. They brought it back and added coconut milk on top. However we requested to talk to the owner to let him know 1/the green curry is spicy and 2/the employees are rude and 3/the operating system is not customer friendly for customers who already were seated . One server (who happens to be the owner's nephew) said okay he would go get him. Well although we saw them talking in the corner, the other server confirmed that the owner was informed and aware of our request to speak with, he intentionally ignored us. He never came to our table to address the issue. After waiting for a long time we decided nor to give them a chance to ever serve us again and that we would spread the words. Although we gave them the benefit of the doubt (that green bell pepper and green curry are "extremely" spicy) we gave them an F for customer service. Hope you consider other Thai restaurants first before wasting your money for bad customer service here. read more

Happy to tell my friends that I have a reliable Thai food place just down the street from me :) This place is: Very Clean Casual Classy Simple Well served Well portioned Enjoyable Everyone in our party was well pleased with their meals. We had a such a good time, the owners must be doing something right. A weird thing did happen. Upon received our meal, we heard a commotion near the entrance. It was so fast I couldn't put it together. I guess some people took it upon themselves to rush inside and steal the tip jar that is left in the front (most likely for take out customers). I am an East Side snob. I never go to the West Side aka East Grants. I live and eat mostly in The International District. I was literally dragged here around Xmas. My favorite food is prolly Thai. I had a Pad Eggplant Extra Hot. The heat meant someting. Not just heat but calculated flavor. This was probably the best meal I've ever had in Albuquerque. It's so far from my house. I've been places where they go so heavy on the peanut butter that you might have well eaten a spoonful of Skippy. This place isn't that. All the veggies are good and you get a bowl of rice. I thought it was really good. I ordered the Pad Thai and the flavor was amazing. My only complaint is that the medium hot, was not hot at all like it is at other places I've eaten.
