Stopped by because it didn't look busy and I've been wanting to give it a try. The servers were nice and pleasant but everything takes forever. My chicken Satay was cold, there was not peanut sauce no seasoning, it was literally just grilled chicken kabobs. The sweet and sour was okay, and the green curry was good but very small. They had a lot of take out orders maybe that's why service was slow. But we were served without any utensils or napkins, our drinks were empty the whole time. Small and cozy restaurant that doesn't stick their opening hours from time to time. Their servers are great though, very friendly and attentive. Food wise, hit and miss, but more of the latter. Their pad see ew is under seasoned and lacking that wok fire taste. Beef panang not balance and but on sweeter side with the same beef they use for all their dishes (chewy). Mind you these are some of Thai food most popular dishes, and if you can't do these right then it's not worth trying the others. Thai Tip is always a solid option for Thai, they are just about everything you want including lots of curry and fried rice options. I recently went with a friend for lunch, and I will note that they don't offer any lunch specials that I'm aware of. We ended up sharing a basil fried rice and one of the noodle dishes. Summary: Thai Tip is too slow for lunch unless you have an hour plus to burn. On Tue 6 May 2025, I arrived at 12:15 for lunch. I then stood awkwardly at the door without being greeted, despite a waitress being feet away, cleaning a table. It was not until more guests arrived that I clarified that we were not a party of four but two parties. I then took my seat and began to wait in a state of mild anxiety, in that a failure to greet a customer is not a good sign regarding the incoming quality of service. The waitstaff did not disappoint, failing to acknowledge my presence for the entire 30 min I was in the restaurant. There was no promise of getting to me, no menu, and no water. I just sat completely ignored as the waitstaff served other customers. I have been coming to Thai Tip for a decade, so I know good food takes time. However, this was a failure of the waitstaff, not a wait from the kitchen. A decision was made to ignore customers due to what I assume is a perceived workload. Regardless of the quality of food, this type of neglect is just right out. Thus, after being in the restaurant 30 min without being acknowledged, I left at 12:45 and walked over to Eloy's. I had food on my table 7 min later (12:52) and had finished and paid at 13:20. The entire meal began and ended in almost exactly 30 min, the same amount of time I sat around in silence at Thai Tip. As such, this restaurant is off my list as a lunch locations. I'll give dinner a try later in the week and document my results. In the future, this will be a to-go restaurant only. read more

The place is a hidden gem located at Wyoming and constitution. It's a clean and cute decoration inside. The staff is really friendly and very fast. We got patay, spring rolls, yellow curry, pineapple fried rice and fried rice. Their white rice comes out in a heart shape which is adorable. The spice levels have a kick for sure so be careful. The curry was so delicious and filling perfect comfort food. Everything else was delicious and amazing. It was reasonably priced it was $60 for everything. Curry's a great substitute. Small place, busy & loud. No problem finding a place to sit. Lot of things in the menu by my target was curry. Found the Pineapple Curry with pork, added Green Curry with chicken both with medium heat & an order of Pot Stickers - these actually came in an order divisible by 2. Pot stickers came out hot & crispy. The curries followed close behind. The heat was just right - at the upper end of medium. Both curries were nice and thick but there was something missing. What a disappointing experience. This was our second visit here. Our last time was over a half year ago, and either they've gotten a new chef overall or they had a new chef for this evening. We came in on a Wednesday evening at 4:30pm, so there wasn't a dinner rush. There were two servers and at least one cook, yet the wait was very, very long for the food. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, so why there was such a delay was confusing. I had the pineapple fried rice with tofu, medium spice. I ordered cilantro to be added, but they forgot it. The entree came out hot instead of medium, and for some reason tasted incredibly metallic. I'm not sure what caused it, but it was not appetizing in any way. The service was slow and non-attentive, which again was odd given there were two servers and just two two-tops (so four patrons overall). Previously I had given Thai Tip a 4/5, but this time my dining companion and I agreed on a 2/5. I think that's generous given the food was unappetizing, the wait time slow, and the service inattentive. It's too bad their chef changed over or the quality has declined in the past half year. Thai Tip opens at noon. We got there at five after on a Friday. We were lucky to get one of two tables left. Within two seconds of us walking in the door, wait staff were on us getting us comfortably seated, re-wiping the already wiped tables, getting us drinks, menus and preliminary stuff. This set the tone for our entire visit - two servers danced through the room, hustling water to anyone who might need it (a lot of people needed it - the food's level of heat is for real) and taking care of any little thing with absolute welcoming grace. Wow, such service! We came because a friend had recommended it. I've heard about Thai Tip for years, but honestly it always seemed like a hassle to go into the corner of a strip mall in this borderline challenged area. But wow was it worth it - and the fact the place was full right after it opened shows people know it. The restaurant is cozy and pleasantly decorated. The staff - well, you've seen me rave about the service. And the food! The food was fantastic. I've included pix of the present menu, which is extensive and has things that you don't find everywhere. Bear in mind that it took a while to come because it was being made fresh and we came in behind a stampeding herd of people, all of whom ordered before us (I think it was about 30 minutes from our order to the delivery of our food - which we happily waited). The flavors were bright and forward in the two dishes we got (spicy noodles with pork, spiced between medium and NM hot and eggplant curry with tofu, spiced medium: neither of these was in any way overbearing for two veteran spicy eaters, but we can see how moving up the scale from there would make things more adventurous), the textures were a treat and the spice level was as-described by the eager-for-you-to-enjoy-yourself server. The food was light, yet filling. The portion size was just fine - two entrees were more than enough for me (a reasonably big eater) and my wife (a lighter eater). Total for lunch was $27 something; we threw on a well-deserved tip to bring it up to $40 and were happily out the door, already planning our return. read more

The wait was over 45 minutes despite the restaurant being nearly empty. 2 meals were prepared too early and left sitting on the rack so when we received them they were warm and not fresh. I am a disappointed customer of Thai Tip who brings my food out in a bag, box and plastic container. I never said I was eating out. In fact I said, " should I go sit down to order?" Guess the message is: don't eat here. We dont want you to eat here. The next customer they greeted with glee even sat him...asked to take his order. Very nice and pleasant. Update: It's been about a couple weeks since I've discovered this place and I'm still obsessed and ordering every other day I've decided that this is the best Thai food I've ever had- and I've been to Thailand and lived in Houston. It's definitely better than my favorite Thai place in Houston. The Pad Thai and all the noodle dishes (I've tried about 4 of the noodle dishes) are super well balanced in flavor. It doesn't arrive swimming in oily sauce like 99.9% of other restaurants. The spice level and overall consistency of Thai Tip is 4.5/5. I've only ever ordered delivery through DoorDash so I can't speak to the service or ambiance. I will warm you if you order DoorDash, be prepared to wait 45-90 minutes for delivery. This place must be super busy because the Dasher almost always has to wait a long time. My only complaint is that one time I ordered a side of rice to go with a stir fry dish (I didn't want to assume it came with rice) and they forgot it. Conclusion: I don't want Thai Tip to get any busier but I won't be a gatekeeper and I want them to do well and stay in business. Def try them out! read more

It's with a heavy heart that I have to update this review for the worse :( If you only get take-out, it's likely only the first point will apply to you. My wife and I stopped going to this restaurant after a number of things changed. This is especially unfortunate because this is also the restaurant I took work visitors from out-of-town to, including a group from two places with far better food (and Thai food) than Albuquerque, and they all loved it. Firstly, a note which was true in my last review, their service is very slow. As far as I can tell, this is largely due to being understaffed in the kitchen, though I think in this case it's more a reflection on the restaurant and owners than on the economy / job market. If this were the only problem I would still be going there regularly as their food really is top-notch. If I lived closer, I would likely get food for take-out and eat at home, and thus could mitigate the slowness by driving time, but as it stands I live 40 minutes away. They seem to have perpetual supply chain issues. One time when we went there they were out of rice, which is quite unfathomable for a Thai restaurant. Twice they were out of straws. For a significant period of time the hot-water machine for making tea was broken, and thus you couldn't have tea (this may still be the case, but I can only attest to the times we tried ordering it). Their wait staff appears to have significant turnover. Over the course of a few months (before we stopped going) they had several new faces appear and several others disappear (including their best one). The owner's (or, who I presume to be the owner) treatment of the wait staff is noticeably bad. The very last time we were there we had a new waitress who was just learning. She made a mistake with my order (I ordered "no potato" on my Yellow Curry and it came with potato) because didn't know it came with potato and thus had to make a note to remove it. This was fine and not a big deal - and she handled it very well - but we heard the [presumed] owner in the back berate her ("no mistake!" "But... everybody makes mistakes!" "No mistake!"). Additionally, the owner apparently really loves this heart-shaped rice shaper (when the rice for your food comes out, it comes formed in the shape of a heart). Unfortunately, this rice is a measly amount - much smaller than the normal measly amount many Thai restaurants provide. To provide a visualizable example, I assume many reading this review are familiar with how much rice you can fit into a typical Asian-food to-go box (with the folding lid). Using this as a reference, most restaurants provide about half of that if you eat in the restaurant (which is already slightly too little for my tastes); the heart-shape at this restaurant is a quarter of that, and you're charged a significant markup for more rice. We started ordering the rice to-go even though we were eating there, and they started filling the box slightly more than half-way up (which is still weird and slightly absurd, but at least I got the amount of rice I wanted). So, to summarize, eating in the restaurant meant that I'd pay too much for too little rice, we'd wait for too long for our food, we'd have ever-changing wait staff, we'd have to deal with constant random and weird missing inventory, and we'd have to deal with knowing the owner doesn't treat them as well as they should. Everything here points to a pretty significant management issue. However, their curry *is* the best in town, and I will miss it for as long as I live here. read more

This has become our go-to thai place for takeout. The staff is super friendly and you can call in your order or order online. We pretty much always go for the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with tofu. The tom kha, panang curry, and mussuman are all great also. Portions are large. The pad thai is solid, though not typically my first choice. They can do a "no spice" option, which is great for my MIL who can't tolerate any heat - she LOVES pad thai and is happy with the version this place puts out. The first time I ordered from here I got everything New Mexico hot. This is VERY spicy. Probably better reserved for dishes you can eat with rice than the noodles (and I like things hot!). It is definitely still eatable but you will mostly taste the spice. For me, "Medium-New Mexico Hot" hits the sweet spot of being spicy enough to make my nose run, but not so spicy I can't taste anything else. Like many places, they do calibrate it based on the dish, so if you order something that's not supposed to be spicy like pad thai or pad seeu, then it will be a little less spicy than what you order. We've only ordered from here during the pandemic, but the staff is always very gracious and our orders are always well packaged for the drive home. If I could change anything I'd love it if they would not automatically give me plastic silverware, but that seems impossible most places. read more

If you don't like Thai, grow up...'cause TT is an experience. Order the Thai ice tea for refreshing cool beverage...or if you are looking for a warm tea that is sweet and spicy, you can't go wrong with Johns. OMFG...the veggie pot stickers are what dreams are made of...homemade and just plain wrong. Nearly all menu items are available vegan/veggie style! Found this place thanks to Yelp. Was looking for Thai spots for lunch and my coworker found this on the app. We never heard or been here before so we check out the menu that had lots of options and looked at recommendations listed in the app. My coworker got the red curry which was highly rated and I got the Mus Sa Maan Red Curry Curry. We started with the assorted appetizer plate which came out quickly and was very good. The two sauces that came with tasted homemade and were delicious. our main entrees came out just as fast and our waitress asked if we wanted it or after we finished our appetizers. He had room on the table accept all of the food which looked like an assorted buffet. We dug in and had our main entrees which were cooked to perfection. I loved my main dish which has potatoes, onion, bell peppers and roasted peanuts. This has become my new favorite Thai curry. read more
