Service was very prompt and friendly, and they served these popped rice cakes for snacks, which were pretty good. As others said, it is not much from the outside, but it is very much a local favorite mom and pop restaurant. This was a great relief since this town just seems to have chain restaurants (Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, etc.) I ordered the Tom Yum soup which was fantastic. I also ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. The shrimps were nice and plump, and they didn't skimp. The noodles were done very well. I can't remember having better Thai food outside of Thailand. What also impressed me was how clean everything was. The dishes, dining room (did not try bathroom), and the silverware. As a former culinary sanitation specialist (i.e. dishwasher), this is one of the things I look for when trying a new restaurant to see how well they have their act together. Amazing. Sometimes the restaurants with the near perfect ratings are totally a let me down, but this one is true to it's ratings. Came for lunch last Sunday and the mile long trek from downtown was totally worth it. There was no wait. The tables are close together so be prepared to get intimate with the strangers dining next to you =^,^=. Luckily we had a nice family next to us and they enjoyed their meals just as much as we did. I had the pad Thai noodles. I cannot describe how delicious this was. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband had the shrimp with asparagus, snow pea and garlic sauce. Thai is one of my favorite cuisines. When I loved in NYC, I had some of the best Thai food of my life. Thai Inter isn't bad by any means, but my palate belongs to the restaurants back in the city. I really feel that given the location, Thai Inter is great. Too often international restaurants in the middle of nowhere are quite subpar. However, this isn't the case here. I would like to give this restaurant 5 stars but I can't. The food was spectacular but not great. I took a date here and our appetizers were great. No problems I ordered the crying tired which was a spectacular steak. The sauce on the side was amazing and the perfect amount of spicy. My date ordered the dumpling soup. She loved it. Perfect amount of shrimp and dumplings. When our entrees came I became disappointed. Eager to the taste the food. My date ordered the duck curry with rice. The curry was striking but there wasn't enough rice to go with it. I ordered the rice pan noodles with steak, Spicy. My food was indeed spicy but the taste was awful. First time visit since I live 100 miles away :) Got the papaya salad to start very good and not too much lime juice. Wild Pork for entree and it was very very good not too spicy tender large pieces of pork with veggies and great marinade that I spooned up every last drop. Thai inter is quite a pleasant surprise. It's pretty amazing to find an ethnic restaurant this far from a metropolitan area with this quality of food. I'm in the middle of a 3 week business trip in Lexington Park and have to say that this is so far the best restaurant I frequented during my trip. The food was overall fantastic. It is however a little pricey for Thai and the Thai ice tea could have been better. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for those in the Lexington Park area. read more

I really enjoy Thai Inter, it's a nice change from the dozens of chain restaurants in the area. Some of my favorites are the tom yum soup with shrimp, the chicken pad thai, the chicken satay, papaya salad, and the thai roasted chicken. They also have some pretty decent curry dishes. I will say I normally do carry-out because the inside of the restaurant could really use some updating. read more

Wonderful food, wonderful service. Their Thai tea is phenomenal! Good prices, and the food comes out quickly, with no reduction in quality. I've only lived here a month, and have eaten here four times - and I have a very sensitive pallet. The only complaints I have or that the building, which was clearly a fast food restaurant at some point, is old looking, and needs to be remodeled. There are televisions in the restaurant, and the seating isn't very intimate. When I go out to eat, I like to feel fancy, and this place lacks that atmosphere. The building needs a quick face lift, at least on the inside. Also, the owner has his/her toddler there. While I understand that childcare is expensive, a screaming toddler in the middle of your meal can really take away from the experience. read more

Cool, rainy night. Lots of work to do in my hotel room. Enter: Thai carryout from Thai Inter. The food was already ready by the time I got there, a mere 10 minutes later, but it was a quiet Monday evening. Score one for Thai Inter! I ordered the Tom Yum Soup and the Crispy Duck with Basil, and planned to eat half and throw the other half in my hotel room fridge for the following night (gotta stretch that per diem, yo). Tom Yum Soup: I ordered it with "seafood". Well, I meant to order it with shrimp, but said seafood. I assumed that meant shrimp, since there was no option on the menu for "seafood", but what I got instead was shrimp, mussel, calamari and scallop in the soup. Tasty, yes...but not what I had expected. Specifically, I didn't expect that $3.00 upcharge on the $3.50 or so soup, without even a confirmation of "seafood? Are you sure you want seafood and not shrimp? It will practically double the price..." That kinda sucked, but oh well. The soup itself was tasty and full of flavor. Perfect for a cool, rainy evening. Crispy Duck with Basil: Really lacked a lot of flavor. The duck itself seemed to be of mediocre quality, as it was a bit tough. The problem was that it just didn't have a lot going on for it. No spiciness for the most part (despite 2 peppers on the menu), and nothing really popped out as being great. The rice was sticky and tasty, so I appreciate that aspect. All in all it was $23 with tax, including the $3 seafood upcharge for the soup. Fair price, I would say, but I would pay a bit more for better food. This was fine Thai food, but really not that great. I would visit again, but there are plenty of other places to try before repeating a so-so Thai restaurant. read more

We'd tried to get into another Thai place but they were packed so we decided to take a drive out to Thai Inter. There was only two other tables in the place and we wondered if maybe we should just leave and keep looking but it was getting late so we decided to stay. We started with the Satay and it was excellent. With a strange twist, we both decided to step outside of our normal orders and got completely different dishes. My partner got the Tiger Cried which was excellent. My partner didn't care for the dipping sauce too much but the beef was excellent. What I found odd was that it was served with a regular (somewhat American) salad of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and ranch dressing. It did go together ok and the beef was so good and tender that we both were surprised. The Wild Curry caught my fancy so I ordered it. It was the most authentic Thai dish I think I've ever had and it was so freaking hot, I could barely eat it! I loved it! I did only get through about half of it before I threw in the towel. When it first arrived, I was shocked to see that it was more of a soup with broth than like a curry that was creamy. There were large pieces of green chilis that would make me sweat but the flavor of the entire dish had was just over the moon. It was like a Thai Pho. The green beans, bamboo shoots, Thai basil and shrimp were the perfect bite with the brown broth and a bit of Jasmine rice. Thank god for the rice or I wouldn't have made it half way through. I want to try everything on the Thai Inter menu so that I can experience what true Thai food is supposed to be like. read more

So lucky to have this place in Southern Maryland where the choices of restaurants and cuisines are abysmal to say the least. I must confess to being a regular here but that is for a reason since it is still a almost 30 miles from where I live. I have tried many dishes here and have rarely been disappointed. They know how to make the food "Thai Spicy" when asked. With that said some of my favorites are as follows, 1) Tilapia Mango Salad, consistent and always a winner! 2) Papaya Salad, made as hot as you can handle if you so desire. I like that sweating forehead sensation. They also will make it Laos style. 3) Duck Salad, Large slices of duck with some pineapple and a tangy dressing. 4) Mock Duck Red Curry, not that easy to find mock duck dishes. 5) Pad Prik Khing, I usually get it with tofu. 6) Sizzling Fish Platter, a fairly hot and spicy dish. This is my family's favorite Thai place in the area (and it might be the only one too?). Our go-to orders are usually the pad thai with either shrimp or chicken and the pad see ew with beef. I loveeeee pad see ew, and it's really good here! It comes with a generous amount of yummy marinated beef and broccoli. It can be inconsistent though; I've found that there have been times where the noodles are really flavorful, and other times they've been more bland and lacking on the sweet soy flavor. It might depend on the chef that day. I like their pad thai too, but theirs is more sweet and not very spicy at all, which is how I prefer my pad thai. I believe you can ask for it to be more spicy, though. Their thai tea is also BOMB. It comes in a huge glass, so I would advise taking it to go for a sweet treat. Was on a road trip with my boyfriend and stopped by for lunch. The food was great, the place was really clean, fast service and solid food. They have several options available for the $7.95 lunch and standard options include chicken, vegetable, tofu, beef and pork. The spicy dishes were actually very spicy, which was a pleasant surprise. The service there was very attentive, fast and helpful. I was able to get the fried rice meal sans tomatoes with no problem whatsoever. My boyfriend ordered some very spicy curry meal. The curry was more soupy than solid, but it was good. The food came out quickly, hot and fresh. The Thai iced tea was served in a unique large glass, tasted delicious and was actually really filling. We both left the place stuffed. The only hiccup was that someone had a yelling baby in the back of the restaurant for a couple minutes, but then the child was either quieted or moved and all was well. The appetite itself wasn't my favorite as it is just fish ball. I thought it would have something else (other than sauce) but I was wrong. If you like fish cake a pot then these would be perfect. I'll start by saying I'm a business traveler and I eat out more than I'd like to. Thai food is some of my favorite. This places food quality is very poor. I was not wanting to go out and eat so I ordered takeout (which is why I'm giving two stars not one, which it still probably deserves.) I ordered the lettuce wraps which the menu describes as "chicken and shrimp" but all I got was BOILED, UNSEASONED CHICKEN. And I kid you not, ONE HALF OF ONE SHRIMP. The ginger and the red onions overpowered everything and the lettuce wasn't even big enough to wrap anything in. Simply terrible. Stay away. read more

Going into this, I had to remind myself that I've had probably some of the best Thai food ever (a dear friend of the family is from Thailand, so real, traditional Thai food was always a phone call away) so my bar for Thai food is pretty high. I've driven past this place dozens of times, but I decided to try something new for once. I was blown away, to be honest. The Beef Pad Thai was pretty good. It was missing something, but it was still pretty good. The fresh spring rolls were okay; nothing special about them; iceberg lettuce, carrots, and a piece of shrimp. They needed to be dipped in the peanut sauce for there to be any kind of flavor to them. The fried spring rolls were amazing. They were nice, crunchy, and flavorful, but once again, the spicy sweet and sour sauce was the exclamation point on an already great item. I also ordered the Kwan Krob, or however it's spelled, and those were the only things I didn't like. They were supposed to be stuffed with ground shrimp, chicken, and other vegetables, but it tasted like all I was eating was fried wonton wrappers with nothing in between. Even pulling them apart revealed the smallest amount of filling ever. I chose not to finish them. The Pad Thai was good. As I said above, it was missing something. I think it needed an extra bit of sauce, but it was good. The rice noodles were cooked well, there was a lot of beef, and I had more than enough to eat my fill for dinner and have some for lunch tomorrow. It wasn't the absolute best Thai food I've ever had, but I would eat here again with no issue. read more

I'm really not understanding the ratings on this place. I give two stars because the waitress was very nice and the restaurant is clean. I've dined at Thai inter four times because I love Thai food. Phad thi noodles and pineapple fried rice is my fav! I've ordered these twice here and was very disappointed for the life of me I don't understand why they over cook their noodles. The rice taste so bland you can barely eat it. I don't remember what other dishes I tried so that tells you something. The last visit here the waitress brought my food out and there was an overwhelming bad smell I didn't even touch it nor did I send it back because I didn't want to be rude. Literally left the whole plate there and got full off of Thai tee and spring rolls. If you've never had fresh Thai food with and assortment of herbs and flavoring than give this place a try but if like me and you've had really good Thai food then don't waste your time..and I really wanted to love it read more
