We were celebrating our grandson's birthday tonight at the Outback restaurant in Leonardtown. We enjoyed Shrimp, Chicken and Steak combo meals. The appetizers were so full of flavor and crunch! My son ordered a signature cocktail. The birthday boy's dessert was on the house. We always love the complimentary bread. The blooming onion was delicious as always. All in all , this was a great evening out. Our server was the best ! The restaurant was clean. All of the staff were very nice to us, they made us feel very special. We celebrate many weekends and long work days treating ourselves to Outback- sirloin is always grilled perfectly MR and the Alice Chicken has been my favorite for years! They are definitely not stingy when it comes to the hefty baked & sweet potatoes, same with the house salad. Never a huge fan of this cultural appropriation fun factory with its Aussie pretensions and Bloomin Onion inspired hypertension. What does impress me however, is service. For a quick roadway lunch this Outback has an extraordinary wait staff that was both on point and sincerely nice. You just don't find this level of attentiveness anymore and frankly, can barely expect a pulse from servers who come and go faster than our brief national infatuation with Crocodile Dundee. Our burgers were both excellent but the staff wouldn't let us leave until they delivered drink refills for the road. Who does that? Five very easy stars. read more

5/22/22 update It was prom night and even though there were lots of empty tables the wait for two people was 20 minutes. Instead we opted for the bar and are very happy for that decision. Our bartender/server, marisha was awesome. We both opted for the small filet with homemade mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. We ordered online for curbside pickup after a very long day. Pickup service was very prompt. Steak was just as we ordered, a tender med-rare & delicious, baked potato was perfect and caesar salad was just right. The food tasted okay, but we got ignored at first. We were seated instantly (we were after the dinner rush), but the hostess did not communicate to the server (who ended up being off work when we were seated). After waiting a while, we went to the bar to eat. The bartender was great and friendly. I ordered the boomarita (4 different flavored small margaritas) and it was tasty, but had hardly any alcohol. I also ordered the Victoria filet with sweet potato and creamed spinach. The 6 oz steak and very small potato was a good portion to not overfill me. I feel l this was all what I expected coming here. First Outback in severeal years! My first impression was that this establishment was more high end than all other Outbacks i have been. For starters there was several open parking spots for a Monday night and even though there are several more for food delivery, physically going to a reataurtant is always fun. We were received by our waitress named Tay (spelling). She was by far the nicest, sweetest, and caring attendant ever; she came by and ensured we were taken care of and our food was at our expectation. Coming to outback a blooming onion is a must! and it sure did not disappoint. I got the steak sandwich, the wife got the salad, and the baby got a chicken w fruit bowl. All was absolutely delicious. The forst impression we got from this place as we came in did not disappoint, it was on par with the food served, the ambiance was great and will decinitely become one of our new go to places. Entered Outback and was greeted by a patron not staff, the wait for a table was 5 minutes. Fast on the bread and butter and drinks waitress name Kirsten so far so good. I was really initially put off by how dirty the place was when I was shown to my table. The seats were not wiped clean, floor was sticky and had food under it, and the table plastic top was cracking and breaking. Once the waitress came by things were starting to look better. She was polite and attentive. The food came out on time and hot. Everything was tasty and cooked perfectly as asked. The lamb was especially good and were nice cuts. The steak was delicious, as were the appetizers and salads. Since they just remodeled the place, I expected it to be cleaner and tearing apart in the inside. The food was superb, the libation unique and tasty, and without my even asking, the lobster was replaced simply because the presentation wasn't good enough for the service team. We used to come here all the time. For years. Quality of food is horrible now. Last time we came here I ordered a filet. Sent it back. Poor quality, too chewy (for a filet, just very disappointing) This time I ordered prime rib. Inedible, settled on sirloin, too tough. My husband ordered a prime rib sandwich...he eats everything. We dined at Outback Steakhouse in California, Maryland for lunch on 7 February 2024. The food, drinks, dessert and service was spectacular and exceeded our expectations. We were nicely seated away from any outside entrances, and met our server quickly, who then took care of us like royalty. Emi was a seasoned professional with a truly pleasant tableside manor and she checked in with us often to ensure we were doing okay. We had a gift card to Outback and decided to go out on a Friday night. The wait wasn't bad at all considering the Covid protocols and limited seating. Our server assured me that my medium steak and my wife's well done steak being ordered at the same time would NOT result in me getting an overdone steak, I did. The steak was tough and definitely overdone, I ate it anyway and actually saw a tiny little spot of pink in one of the last slices. Honestly it was well done, terrible. My wife's was more than well done, she said it was very tough. I got my steak with the twisted ribs, the server attempted to describe what they were and her description didn't help, they are ribs that get breaded and fried after they are done...not that good, but tender. Service was phenomenal for someone who was obviously a bit green. Very attentive and informative but you could tell someone never trained her on their POS. But, food and drinks were horrendous. Both of the house cocktails I got were basically pure syrup with a splash of a syrupy alcohol (not what was listed on the menu). Quoted a 35-40 min wait time, waited over an hour with our 11, 9, and 3 year old while other parties were sat ahead of us. Finally, the manager had the audacity to make a comment (after walking by and glaring at us) about our 3 year old playing with table pamphlets and coasters and insinuating that we were making a mess. I was really craving a steak while out with shopping with my girlfriend and grandma. So, we went to this Outback! And boy oh boy, were we not disappointed!! The service was not only speedy, but our server was extremely personable, friendly, and helpful! Beyond this, the sirloin steak was seasoned beyond phenomenal! The steak was also cooked just right! It was much better than other Outback's that I have been to in the past. Lastly, I tried the new strawberry salad and it was amazing too!! Giving 3 stars because Outback has been great in the past. Recently it has gone downhill. Fatty cuts of steak, soggy fries. Tonight I ordered takeaway and again, my 6oz Outback sirloin was 4oz of fat.(My dog loved it). Not only that, the Blue Cheese for my salad had Mold on it. Legit hair growing on it. I live in San Diego- but wanted to buy my parent's dinner later this week to celebrate their anniversary. The last few times we've been to this location food quality and service haven't been great so we eventually stopped coming. Over the weekend we saw their ad for steak w/ all you can eat shrimp for $15.99 which sounded like a great deal so we decided to give them another shot. After a roughly 30 minute wait we were seated in the back next to the bathroom & kitchen exit area...which sucks big time! Waiters, waitresses, management, customers were colliding all night long. There must have been 3 or 4 dishes broken behind me in the 2 hours we were there. Scared the crap out of me each time!!! We decided to start w/ an order of wings and the bloomin petals. I get it's a Saturday night and they were somewhat busy but ALL of the food took FOREVER getting out (hence us being there 2 hours) When our appetizers finally came out roughly 40 minutes after placing our order the bloomin petals were swimming in grease. We had one or two and they were so greasy we just left them. The wings were good but needed to be cooked longer. They weren't crispy. So not sure if they sat too long or what. We both ordered for our entree the sirloin w/ ayce shrimp. Our waitress (who was great bless her busy little soul, and the reason this review is 2* instead of 1) let us know we could mix and match the garlic shrimp for the fried which was nice. We both decided to start with the garlic butter shrimp. I wish I could've gotten my hubbys reaction when our entrees were brought. These were seriously the smallest shrimp I've ever seen haha they had to be 100 count to a pound. It was seriously laughable! The sauce they were in was awful also. Almost like bottled salad dressing. We both looked at each other rolled our eyes and asked for our waitress to please put in an order of the fried shrimp as we knew we'd be wanting more. She let us know that she would put it in right away but the kitchen was really backed up...yup should've known! Take forever getting the food out so customers either get frustrated and leave or full and leave. This kinda sealed the deal for us on not coming back to Outback. Crazy to think we spent $100 on 2 small steaks no bigger than a deck of cards, 20 bay shrimp, 2 appetizers and a couple beers. read more
