Can call ahead, but we ordered and pick up in-person at the front vestibule, waiting about ~10 min after ordering. Dining area looked quite busy. Asking for extra BBQ sauce is a must! 90% juicy and tender meat throughout. On the pricier side, but hard to get a nice, trimmed rack of ribs these days. In need of a quick alternative before checking out, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant nearby. As my wife wisely stated, "Everything happens for a reason." And indeed, our serendipitous visit turned out to be a delightful breakfast experience. Customer Service: Our waitress was nothing short of exceptional. Despite the restaurant beginning to fill up with patrons, she remained attentive and professional, ensuring our needs were met without missing a beat. Ambiance: The interior of the restaurant was clean and well-maintained, with a layout that, while slightly smaller than preferred, was cozy and inviting. We were seated at a table with a bench along the wall, which provided a comfortable dining arrangement. Food Quality & Pricing: It's worth noting that the restaurants in this area seem to have higher prices compared to what we're accustomed to. Whether it's due to the proximity to the hotel or the general cost of living in the area, breakfast items were about 20% pricier than back home. That said, the portions were generous (except for my meal) and the quality of the food made the pricing seem justified. I opted for the Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast with Fresh Strawberries, priced at $14.75. The flavor was exceptional, though the portion left me wanting a bit more. I have eaten at Boomerangs many times. The food is always good, the wait staff is helpful, but ambiance... well, it has none of that. It's a good looking space, well designed. The issue is the NOISE. The acoustics are terrible. It is so loud, even during a regular lunch hour, that you can't hear the person sitting across from you in the booth. Please, Boomerangs, do something about this. Add some carpet. Dampen the sound a bit. I shouldn't be able to listen to conversations that are going on in an entirely separate bar area, literally behind a wall. read more

About 25 of my coworkers and I came in for lunch after the end of our conference day earlier in the week. I called ahead and they advised we could be sat right away in tables of 4 or 5 as tables became available. After waiting a very short time, the majority of us were able to sit at once. Although we were at different tables we were basically all together as we took up all but a few of the tables in the dining room. I must say, even with such a large party, we received better service here than a small party at other restaurants. The two ladies taking care of us provided excellent and prompt service despite us bombarding them with little notice. Our drinks were refilled as needed and the food did not take as long as we were anticipating. Many of us got cups of soup or side salads as appetizers and they even came out at the appropriate times. I had the side salad with honey mustard dressing which was fresh and delicious. The honey mustard was really good. I then had the combo platter which came with ribs, chicken and two sides. I opted for the potato salad and green beans. The chicken was cooked to temperature but wasn't as well done as I typically like it so I had my husband finish that part for me. We've visited Boomerang's twice now; once for lunch and again at a Mother's Day breakfast and both were excellent. For lunch I had their chicken salad which was heaping with good size pieces of chicken along with celery and mayo (I love mayo). My friend had their dumplings which he loved. We came back later that week for breakfast on Mother's Day right at 8:00am to find them very busy already. We waited a short time before we were seated. The waitress came quickly for our drink order and came back with a pot of coffee for refills. The coffee was OK, but the food was outstanding! And came out quickly for as busy as it was. I love these kind of places... innocuous roadside joints that serve great food without all the fun factory pretense of the chains or locally minted tourist traps. Besides inane lyrics what does Jimmy Buffett really know about running a restaurant spitting out cheeseburgers in paradise, or anywhere else for that matter. But I digress... Boomerangs in Solomons is a Spartan feast where if your not careful they may smoke and deep fry the napkins. We ate there twice, where the crab soup and the fried halibut still haunts my dreams. The next morning, the soft shell crab benedict rumbled through my pleasure center like a freight train. This unadorned masterpiece is where the locals congregate for their sacramental Bloody's at 9:30am and return time after time to eat at the bar. That's good enough for me. The story of pork prepared two ways: 1). Full Rack of Ribs meal with two sides - With the phrase "Original Ribs" in the title, I expected Boomerangs' to serve up some amazing ribs. Sadly, the ribs were very average. I was already a bit concerned when the dish arrived at the table, since there were portions of the meat which appeared overly charred. We requested that the ribs be prepared with a dry rub and sauce on the side, since the quality of the meat and precision of how the ribs had been smoked, cannot be hidden under a coating of sauce. I also conducted the "fork test" where I took the utensil and poked and gently scraped the meat before tasting the ribs. As suspected, the meat was on the dry side and it flaked off almost like a jerky. Not a good sign. As for the taste, it was alright. The only real flavor I could detect from the rub was salt, pepper, and some brown sugar. The award winning bbq sauce tasted like any sauce you'd find in the grocery store with some hot sauce mixed in. Sides were passable enough with the hush puppies having a good fry on them, and the baked potato with a crispy skin. The ribs were actually too dry to finish in the restaurant, so we ate 1/2 there and the next day reheated the leftovers at 200 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprayed on a mixture of apple cider vinegar and turbinado sugar, which helped to "revive" the meat and give it some much needed moisture. 2). Pulled pork sandwich - DELICIOUS! The meat was super succulent and infused with fantastic smoke flavor. And the portion size was very generous for the $10/plate price tag. It was actually big enough to eat half in the restaurant and save the other half for lunch the next day. If I'm in the area again, I'd come back for this sandwich alone. Interior is spacious which allowed for plenty of social distancing between customers, and the management does a good job of limiting capacity. All in all, an alright dining experience but a big disappointment with regards to the ribs. read more

Boomerangs is always good to me and the food is always great. I've been here for brunch, lunch, and dinner and have never had a bad meal. A favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad or sweet potato fries and the house bbq sauce is incredible. It's always a must-visit whenever we come to visit family in Solomon's. I really, really want to give 5 stars but with the last few pickup orders I've had, something has been wrong. There is either an incorrect item or something is missing entirely. I know there is a sign at the pickup to check the order before leaving, but when picking up for so many people, it's not always easy. Salmon ($19.95 + $2 side upgrade) did not look like much but was high quality, flaky, soft, and amazing. The potato salad was clearly house made and fresh with large chunks of red potato. My friend ordered the pulled pork burger ($14.95) and it looked incredible - he said it was a little overdone but the moisture from the pork compensated for that. Had a large amount of pulled pork as well as large gooey cheese slices, bacon, and onion rings on top. Price point is on the high side but the food is quality so no complaints there. This is a local place that has definitely changed drastically for the better. I have been a few times in the 2 months. Twice for brunch, carry out and twice for dinner. Each time it was good. Update 7/13/21 My family and I decided on BBQ for lunch and after my failed attempt to eat there previously, I recommended Boomerangs. For starters we had fried zucchini; Brussel sprouts; and a house salad. The large portion of zucchini slices served was well fried, with a creamy and flavorful cucumber/Tzatziki sauce. The marinara on the plate tasted as if came from a jar with no attempt to elevate the jar flavor. The Brussels were fried decently (not crispy) and drizzled with a balsamic glaze, but the blue cheese crumbles were large and a little overpowering. Luckily we could eat around it and enjoyed the dish. I ordered the French Dip with friend onions & mushrooms, served with french fries. Loved the fries, they were thick, crispy and cooked in fresh oil. The meat, which they cook in-house was tender and very flavorful. The cheese was nicely melted but oddly the bottom of the bread was moist and made it impossible to dip in the delicious au jus. Overall I enjoyed the sandwich after removing the bottom of the bread and the onions because they were large and undercooked. My sister and niece enjoyed the ribs (dry & with sauce). The fried haddock was also decent but the hush puppies were dry. Unsuccessful was the potato salad (like eating a mouthful of mayo), and the baked beans (a mouthful of maple syrup). Definitely would not order either again. We'd return again for the ribs & roast beef they prepare in-house & apps but. I'd recommend avoiding the traditional sides & sticking to small salads and fries. For those who don't use a lot of salt, this might be a great choice for you. They definitely leave the option to add salt & pepper to their customers. I tend to enjoy more salt added during the cooking process but I respect places that are more health forward. read more
