Probably won't be coming back here unless I'm dragged here. The crab dip and the shrimp are great but everything else we had was pretty mediocre. We even sent hush puppies back because they were not cooked properly (which the server did not seem surprised at all). Our server was not very friendly and we had to ask another staff member for silverware. The expo even got my salad before the sever did. The expo however was extremely friendly. Our server multiple times went to the gentlemen behind us and asked them how they were but did not do the same thing for us. She of course was extremely nice when asking if we wanted any dessert and saying goodbye when it was time to tip her. read more

We've been visiting the area for years but today was our first time stopping in here and it will definitely be somewhere we return every summer when we're in town! I'm from California & the ribs here are probably the best I've ever had! Get the full 12 rack, you will probably eat it all & if not, they're great the next day too. Really enjoyed a meal here. Food was delicious - pulled pork, ribs with original sauce, crab soup, desserts. Fries were yummy too. The service was above and beyond, our very pleasant and kind server offered to split an entree sandwich into two kids' sandwiches and the extra bun and extra side were included free, and when I asked if coleslaw came on my sandwich she added that as well. Here is my issue with management. Upon receiving my bill, it already included an automatic 25% tip and printed at the bottom was an 18% tip recommended. When I questioned the server, I was told that's what the manager does. So, not only was an automatic 25% tip added to my bill, they recommended 18% more. No where on the menu did it mention a tip of 25% automatically added to your bill. If you don't pay attention to your bill, you could potentially tip 43%. The automatic 25% and additional 18%. This is a deceptive business practice. I'll be calling the better business bureau about this. Won't go back there to eat. Also charged an additional dollar for using a debit card, not a credit card. I don't enjoy not having the option to determine tip for my service. read more

23JUL2022 - Went to Solomons islands for a staycation at the Solomons Island Resort. After sitting at the swimming pool we started to get an appetite. Check Yelp and BOOMERANGS ORIGINAL RIBS popped up with a label stating legendary ribs. Unless legendary is a pseudonym for DO NOT EAT! please do not spend any money at this place. It must be managed by someone who got fired from their quality control job. What was ordered? Half slab ribs with barbeque chicken, side of potato salad, hush puppies, and bread pudding. After ordering the food at carryout and waiting past the 24 mins stated found out by getting out and asking where is my food. The main woman asked if I paid for some food. I gave the name used to order and she came out again asking who did I talk to. She stated if she talked to this guy (he was the only guy at the carryout) she then said he left for the day, Now furious some guy forgot to give me my food, probably now having cold food, she finally comes out with 2 small bags. Child, please!!!!! The ribs were small adjacent to a chicken breast with barbeque sauce on it and a very small container of potato salad and some bread pudding which looked like a foam brick. Everywhere we go bread pudding is my #1 food to sample after this trip I will ask for a sample 1st. The carryout lady after asking told me it was very good. She must not have taste buds. Moving on to the 4 small hush puppies in a bag. I've had marbles that looked bigger. The so-called ribs, where do I start were dry and had a burnt taste almost like they were cooked a day before and flash cooked on a grill. No flavor at all. On the menu, it stated barbeque chicken not a frozen flat chicken breast with sauce rubbed across it. Please check out the pictures. The chicken breast looked like it was plastic. Moving on to the so-called potato salad it was bland with almost 0 seasonings. There were about 6 small potato pieces covered with mayo and pepper. The bill was $37 for food I wouldn't even give to my miniature schnauzer let alone 2 people. You would need to buy 3 servings for that. All you would need is to check out the pictures added. The proof is in the pictures. Whenever these places get me with the words I and cannot back it up I get extremely upset because the small portion size is one thing but bad-tasting food with a small portion size is a rip-off. Trust anyone who goes here will be disappointed. If you are not maybe it was on a day when everything was cooked fresh and someone cared in backing up the words on the restaurant sign. Thoroughly disappointed. 1/2 of the food $37 dollars worth was not eaten and thrown out. read more

Same as a previous review where a 25% tip was added to each check. Then it suggested additional tipping amounts on the check. When I scheduled the luncheon, I was told they may add an 18% tip, now I see that their practice is to lie, and overcharge whenever possible. Food was good, but not great, so I know that our group will never go there again. We stopped in for dinner one hot night and was told that the wait was 30 minutes. We didn't mind, we sat at one of the tables outside and no more than 5 minutes later, we were seated so we're not sure why the difference in time but were glad to get in to the A/C. My partner got the half rack of ribs with the original sauce and were surprised at how small the portion was but it ended up being an ample amount of food but no leftovers. They weren't super hot but were tender. I got the large fish sandwich and it didn't disappoint - it was huge. I ended up eating half of it just with a fork and then the other half as a sandwich. After a 4 mile roundtrip hike and a few hours spent shark tooth hunting, the fam was craving burgers so I took to the Yelp to find a good spot and thus stumbled upon Boomerangs. The food was delicious and service was great except they didn't come around often which normally would be a good thing except we drank our water fast and needed refills and asked for ketchup which was not seen for 20 minutes following a second request. The chefs are outstanding making virtually everything from scratch. And boy does it taste home made. Weekend breakfast is always just like you made it at home only without the cleanup afterwards. I decided to try this local restaurant out for a Saturday night dinner. It was the only place around without a wait and why I have no clue. We were seated right away our server Adam was right over for drink orders and back quickly for our dinner order. We order the pretzel bites for appetizer and they were very good, wish the cheese sauce had been warmed up but it was very tasty. The entrees took a bit longer then I would have expected but it seem the kitchen got backed up with carry out orders. We both ordered the combo of ribs and fried shrimp. The BBQ sauce is boomerangs own recipe and it was very tasty, not to sweet with a good hint of smoky flavor. The southern green beans were my favorite, the Mac n cheese was good but not worth the upcharge. The ribs were fall off the bone finger lickin good. The inside is decorated very nice. Our first time ordering from this restaurant. We decided to order to go. The server was very nice and took his time to explain every bbq sauce they have on the menu. Of course we couldn't pass on ribs, it came with 2 sides so we picked cole slaw and fries. Ribs are AMAZING, homemade Cole slaw was good too. Ribs are tender and just fall off the bone! I went to the Boomerang BBQ food stand today visiting for the 4th. I ordered a half rack. I was not expecting much because I am from the BBQ capital, Memphis TN. So I didn't dive in right away until I got home. I had one rib and the meat was tender and off the bone good. It seems they use a dry rub which is perfectly fine with me. When I am on that side again I will definitely look them up for some more ribs. read more

Ate here about a month ago. Ordered a steak but they didn't have that cut so they upgraded it at no extra charge. I asked for medium & got a perfectly cooked & seasoned steak. Delicious. My son ordered a cheeseburger & said it was really good, cooked like he ordered. Plus the service was friendly & even though the restaurant looks older on the outside, the inside is very nice! Returned in 12/17 & ate lunch there this time. First, the waitress was great & super nice! The hush puppies were SO good. This place is under rated. Outside looks basic but interior is updated, clean and well designed. Seat yourself, the servers are quick to feet and get your meal state. They've been open since 1990 and running well. Traditional bbq menu is freshly prepared and obviously made to order. Try the Carolina cider Bbq Sauce. Their seafood options are better than most local waterfront "seafood restaurants". Get the fried oysters. The crabcake tasted like it was from meat picked locally. Everything was pretty good. Everything, that is, except for the ribs! This is supposedly what they focus on, but I had the most unflavorful rack of ribs I've ever had. Maybe it's because I have been spoiled by the ribs I smoke (and I am a newcomer to smoking meats). My friend even said I make better ribs. On the plus side, the crab cakes and hush puppies were very good. Apparently the mac'n'cheese is also very good. Feel free to come here, but be wary of the ribs that they are named for! read more

You really wouldn't think you would find a BBQ ribs place, let alone a BBQ ribs place with AMAZING ribs in a southern Maryland beach town, but Boomerangs hit the nail on the head. Was down here for the weekend and a friend that lives nearby suggested this place. I had read the reviews but I forgot to order the potato salad! We both had the 1/2 rack of ribs with salad and baked potato. Ribs were 'wet' with a nice sauce and very tender. Salad was great. Potato..ehh. Peach cobbler was the special dessert but neither of us had room for it. Nice casual place with a separate bar area and outdoor seating. Discovered this gem only after locally staying here in Solomons island for a week at a time, three times a year for a decade. I always went by this place witch is incidentally only 5 minutes from where I stay all the time. Let me tell you, if you like BBQ, THIS is the place. A wide ranging menu offers a great selection. Great sauces and sides also. The place does not feel touristy; in fact there is a local flavor to it as you can tell there are a lot of local folk here. It s noisy during dinner but if you like to go to a place that you can sample the local crowd. This is it. The bar I'm is about a twelve seater, large surface area and the bartender when I was there was Holly who made this stranger feel at home. You won't have a bad meal here. read more
