But the food is very good, especially the drinks, the chai tea and chai coffee was amazing. After being recommended to this restaurant by our hotel manager and reading the reviews on Yelp, my family and I decided to check out Thai House. We started off with a chicken satay, followed by chicken pad thai, beef mussamun curry, and an order of brown rice. The chicken satay was delicious - the meat was very savory and done to perfection. The peanut and cucumber sauces were good as well. The chicken pad thai, however, raised a bit of skepticism as it did not look like traditional pad thai (you had to pay $2 extra for the shrimp, and it lacked the lime slices and peanuts that normally garnish the dish), but upon tasting it, we decided that it was very well done and delicious. The mussamun curry was my favorite dish - though the beef was a little dry the flavors were very savory. The brown rice, however, was another story. We decided upon smelling it that it had already gone bad. The waiter apologized and replaced it with white rice. Pros: tasty entrees, good service, not too crowded on a Saturday night, reasonable prices Cons: portions seemed smaller than expected after reading the previous reviews, bad rice, slow service (only 1 waiter was working). All in all, this was not the best Thai food I have ever eaten, nor was it the worst. I give it 3 stars, perhaps 4 if the brown rice hadn't been cooked some time ago and simply reheated when ordered. read more

I'm not a spicy food eater. In all honesty, when I eat spicy food, I pay for it for a few days. The Thai House is the exception to the rule. I don't have the stones to order thai hot, but I do order the heat level right below that. My wife turned me onto thai food about three months ago and now they know me by name and don't have to ask what we want. Lunch Special Panang Chicken medium (for me) and Thai Hot (for my wife). Let's just say that I've had to give up playing poker on a weekly basis in order to pay for this addiction to their food. I have traveled the world when I was in the Navy. I've had authentic Thai Food. If you were magically transported to this place and didn't know it was smack dab in the middle of Red Bluff in far northern California, you wouldn't know that you weren't in Thailand. It's that good. Don't let it's modest hole-in-the-wall appearance fool you, this place is wonderful. The dishes are served family style, so for a party of four I'd suggest ordering three dishes and maybe an appetizer. Portions are fairly large. Their scale of "spicy" is a Thai scale, not American - Medium spicy packs a bit of a punch. While probably not a Thai food expert, I do very much enjoy it and have visited a dozen or so in the north state. The food is among the best I've had anywhere else! I particularly like their Cashew Nut, Basil Chicken, and Pad Thai. My wife loves their Pad See Ew with their glass noodles. While their food is fantastic, the service is phenomenal. Being a local and return customer helps I suppose, but they always remember what we like and how we like it. Very friendly and attentive without any hovering. The atmosphere is nice and clean. First time here and we really liked the food. We have our favorite Thai restaurant so we're kind of hard to please. We got the fresh rolls, spicy fried rice and a chicken basil dish. Their med heat is plenty spicy with no need to add any extra. Our waitress was friendly and greeted us with a smile. She could of however left the very short shorts at home and worn something that covered a tad more. The restaurant was a little unkempt and run down but it seems most Thai restaurants are that way. Their cooling system wasn't working very well and they had a pan sitting under it on a table to catch the condensation. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. read more

We stopped in for lunch on our way back from Oregon. We ordered the lunch special. It came with a delicious Thai soup and tasty salad with home made dressing. Stopped at Thai House on my way back to West Sacramento from Seattle Washington. My family and I was looking for something different from all the food stops driving down I-5. we found this little place, and it was the break we needed. The food was the best we found during the whole trip. Nice people working there as well. It's a very pleasant place to eat and relax in, for the entire family. Having been to Red Bluff four or five times the past same number of years for work, I was not excited about the food prospects on returning. I checked on Yelp and found three reasonable candidates and settled on Thai House. Driving up after dark to the non-descript building my heart sank when I saw the big "Under New Ownership" banner hanging from the front. We were the first customers on a chilly Monday night not long after the holidays -- probably not a big going out to dinner night. The host quickly ran and turned on the heat as we entered and the room heated up quickly (I have to say I appreciated the energy saving of not heating the whole place until you have a customer!). That aside, despite my trepidations of whether under new ownership the restaurant would live up to its previous reputation, everything was spot on delicious! I would agree that it's on par with good Thai food in Seattle (I'm from Seattle). I'm afraid I can't recall the names of what we ate, but we had a shrimp/curry soup, a steak salad, flat rice noodles with chicken and house sauce, and a roast duck and pineapple curry. All were excellent. We had one person who was apprehensive about too much "heat" so we ordered them all 3-star (out of 5). At three they sported noticeable heat but were perfect for our lightweight. Four or five might be better for those who want some real, forehead-sweating punch. Portions were generous, and the price very affordable ($7-10 per dish). The place was clean with interesting Thai decor. Terrific service. All in all a very pleasant surprise to my Red Bluff trip. read more

The vegetables and meat are always fresh and served in traditional style. As some one who has actually visited Thailand and consider themselves to be a bit of a Thia food snob, I highly recommend this place. I usually hate Thai food. If someone asks where we should eat, I always say "anything but Thai." It's really just because I don't like coconut milk. But last night I wanted something cheap that wasn't fast food or Mexican, so I came online for reviews and saw that this little spot was rated pretty highly for cheap food. I put my usual reservations aside and went for it. Ordered the spring rolls which were pretty good even if they weren't what I was expecting. Peanut sauce was delish and the vegetables were fresh. The Pad Thai was also pretty tasty (even with coconut milk) but not quite as spicy as I would have wanted. I kinda wish I had the option of adding the spiciness myself. Definitely worth the price!! We visited this place around 4.30 for a super late lunch on our way back from Lake Shasta to Bay Area. There are a few aspects to this restaurant: 1. Quality (cleanliness) - The food seemed to be fresh, and they use the same paste for all most of their curry so the taste is very similar. It is like ordering different dishes but getting the same ones. 1 plate, 1 serving spoon and 1 napkin we got out of 4we got were not clean and had to request for a new one. We were very annoyed at that part. 2. People - They were really nice, polite and the owner came to check on us if we needed anything and also talked about the city. 3. Quantity - The serving size was decent enough for one person. So if you are very hungry, probably you would want to order a little more than 1 dish. I would have given it a 3 star but the chef/owner was super nice so giving it a 4 star. Overall the experience was okay. But would satisfy your hunger when on road. read more

The only issue I have is the fact that the sauce isn't spicy, they just add alot of red pepper seasoning if u say want it hot.
