We stopped by for lunch, and China Doll has pretty good chinese food. We loved the sesame balls filled with red bean. The lunch special is only $9.99!! I tried the Kung pao chicken which tasted good. The sweet and sour pork is ok, for only an additional dollar. We loved the complimentary chow mein over the fried rice. Overall, this is a great chinese restaurant in Red Bluff. read more

I have driven by this place so many times and always thought it wasn't open. Today we stopped in. Staff were friendly. The food was good and portions were good. I love their menus and their plates. Can't wait to bring the family. It is a bit dingy indoors and outdoors nothing a little TLC can't fix. read more

Good food, and I can't believe that no one has mentioned that they have vegan faux meat here! I wish they advertised it online, because that's almost impossible to find up here! If you order, call to ask for the imitation meat. I got the orange chicken and curry chicken, both with imitation chicken. I couldn't believe I got a large serving of just faux orange chicken for the price. (I think they might charge a couple of dollars extra for faux meat.) the curry chicken was good too. My partner got real meat. He said the beef and broccoli was okay, but the BBQ pork rice was good. We made a mid-afternoon stop en-route to the Bay area. The restaurant was quite dark with wood paneling. We had beef chow fun and soup which were just OK. Soup was made with beef bouillon broth, chicken pieces added with vegetable, won ton. The server was pleasant. Unfortunately, we needed to use the "rest room". Repairs are needed to the cracked light switch. Toilet/floor is obviously used mainly by males. read more

Went to China Doll because Lucky Chinese is closed on Mondays. A total dive, but the food was good. Had Mongolian Beef made extra spicy. Definitely was spicy, and beef was tender. Dish was a little light on steamed rice - don't know if you could get more for free. Would definitely have it again. read more

For such a small town Red Bluff has quite a few Chinese restaurants. This China Doll is a decent choice and they'll make off menu items for you if you ask, as long as it's not something super exotic. I asked if they could make me pan fried soy sauce noodles and the cook knew what I wanted. Most excellent. read more

It's a bizarre place because it's a total dump inside and out, with absolutely no effort to make it look like somewhere you want to dine, but it's clear they put all their menu into their menus and it's appearance. Other than that, it's a hole in the wall and I don't get why. It looks like it's baron and been closed for decades, because there's no effort to make it look nice. The food was great though, but it's been 15 hours now and I still have IBS symptoms and I don't have ibs. Upon arriving to pay and pick up, I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the young man working the front and the gentleman who came from the back. This is by far the best Chinese food I've had in the area since moving from Sacramento 2 years ago. Pros: The food was delicious and prepared very fast. It's a very small shop so the ambiance is very mellow. Service was quick and the owner and servers are very kind. Cons: the egg blossom soup is a bit bland and oily. Some bites of the chicken were fatty. Lastly, some of their dishes are more veggie than protein. read more

I've only had their wor wonton soup when my manager got it for us one day. Then coming back from a job site visit, I decided to stop by and try the China Doll chow fun and oh my goodness, it was DELICIOUS. I didn't think Red Bluff would have the perfect chow fun!! The noodles were tender but springy, the meats were perfectly cooked, and it had that nice smokiness you can only get from cooking over high heat. Excellent food! It was all hot and delicious. Some of our favorites were the Egg Foo Young and the Orange Chicken. They even made the orange chicken with mild spice upon request. Portions are huge and two people could definitely share a dinner combo. Service was prompt and nice! My husband and I just moved here from Chico and had a craving for Chinese food after a day if unpacking boxes. We were so happy they were open until 9. We came in at 8:17pm and were seated. The table was clean and we ordered within 10 minutes. Our food was flavorful. I got the Hunan shrimp plat with sweet and sour pork, my husband got szechwan chicken, and an order of steamed pork buns. The food had just enough spice. My 7 year old loved it. The pork buns were perfect and had lots of pork in them. I'm so happy this restaurant is here! They were very nice and gave my son a bowl of soup since mine and my husband's meals came soup. We will definitely be back! read more

The outside wasn't impressive, but we went because it had good Yelp reviews and we weren't disappointed in the food. It was surprisingly good and we enjoyed BOTH the sushi and the chinese food. And I'm a picky sushi person! Overall, I walked away thinking, "That was so good!" The service left a lot to be desired, but it looked like they were severely understaffed.
