We ordered a BBQ chicken plate-the chicken was ok, but not much of it for the price, we didn't like the sauce it came with, a mountain of white rice on the plate (no one can eat that much rice!). I am traveling for work and this was my second time here. First time was for lunch, no complaints. Last night for dinner, I ordered a wonton soup. I was coming down with a cold, and could only eat a third of my soup. The lady who served me offered to pack up my leftovers to go. It sounded like a great idea, until I woke up in my hotel late at night to finish my soup. Much to my surprise she packed up a small plastic container and must've thrown away the rest. I was livid! What a waste. There was so much food left! Why not use two containers? I mean, cmon lady, that was the food I paid for! Needless to say, I went back to bed hungry. The contents of the container was two shrimp and mostly broth. I'm assuming the heavier contents like chicken and wonton stayed at the bottom of the serving pot and she was too careless to bother packing it up. What a waste of money. I have been here once before (I thought I reviewed it before) during the pandemic. I like the decor, simple and clean. The service was excellent. I really enjoy the lady , I'm assuming owner, she is so kind and funny. The majority of restaurants around here areMexican food which I love, but sometimes I like a little change, especially coming from the big city I was privileged to taste food from all over the world all my life. The food in general is really good. The wonton had very hard chicken and it was pasty, maybe it had freezer burn, but it was not good at all. We took them out of the soup. Thai House is the only Thai restaurant we have in out little town of Red Bluff, I guess we're lucky to have even one of something other than Mexican or Chinese or a chain restaurant. It's a decent Thai place with all the usual dishes we expect, like Pad Thai and other noodles as well as all the colored curries and some of the Thai salads and soups. The service was very nice and the food we ordered was good. Ok, not big city fancy level, but for a non big city Thai place, I'm not complaining. I'll come back here for sure. read more

The 2 stars is probably generous, but the guy who took our phone order was really friendly. I was craving Pad See Ew that I usually get at one of the Thai places in Redding, but we were in Red Bluff. It was awful--super smoky tasting; we were going to share it but had to throw it away--it was that bad (I will say it was a good-sized portion). We got the chicken "noodle soup" for our kids, assuming it would be like chicken pho we usually get elsewhere, and it wasn't very good either (and really expensive for soup!). My husband thought the BBQ chicken sounded good, but we were shocked by the tiny serving size(!), and he felt the flavor was nothing special. We were equally taken aback by the "crispy rolls" appetizer, which was five 3-4 inch tiny rolls that we calculated came to $2 each(!?). We will stick to Thai food in Redding from now on. Service was friendly and very fast. Food was pretty good overall. I started with the potstickers, and oddly enough they weren't fried at all (just steamed) - still tasted good. I followed that with the Tom Kah soup, which was by far the star of the meal. I also ordered the mixed vegetable stir-fry, which had decent flavor but I probably wouldn't get again. As a point of critique, some of the vegetables were poorly prepped - I ate at least two stems from the baby corns, and they liberally used chopped garlic in their cooking process. That's great, but when it gets cooked beyond a certain point it becomes almost inedible in terms of hardness, which was the case in the stir fry and the potstickers stuffing. This was the last meal on our weekend trip to the area and I'm sad to report that it was incredibly disappointing. I hadn't had a delicious Asian meal in days so was really looking forward, but this just isn't the "hidden gem" that my fellow Yelpers have claimed it to be. One thing I will say is that service was solid! The Ed Sheeran looking fellow that took my order and helped us when we arrived was a really nice, young gentleman. We called in around 5:30pm on a Sunday to place a takeout order and it was ready in 10-15mins. Parking was super easy out front and their POS system was a little slow, but it was fine enough. We had a beef pad see ew and eggplant tofu. The noodles and beef flavor were just FUNKY. That's the best way to describe it. And the noodles all stuck together and were mushy - just not the texture you want in your Thai noodles. The beef was also way too chewy. The eggplant tofu had very little eggplant or tofu, and was overly salty. Like it was doused in salt. Both of these dishes are some of my favorites when it comes to Thai so it was just really unfortunate. I just felt like no love went into this meal. read more

After a long day at Lassen Volcanic National Park, we called in to make a reservation for a party of 14 and the restaurant had our table ready once we arrived. Only half of our orders came, while the others were forgotten. We reminded the waiter/waitress multiple times, but they still forgot. When we asked to cancel the orders that weren't made, they quickly prepared our order and said it was already on its way. The dishes were so salty and I would definitely not call this a "hidden gem". They overcharged us and weren't transparent at all! Seemed like it was their first day in business. read more

This place has the best authentic Thai food and all very delicious. The service is pretty good. The ambience is not much to shout about. Having said that,I eat lunch there at least once a week. I recommend that if you love hot peppers, order your meal as Thai Hot. My favorite is the red curry shrimp...yummy. read more

We've been coming here for many years, but only like once a year. It's going downhill, sadly. Smaller portions, yes, but higher prices, too. I totally get inflation but kinda feel like choosing both does a disservice to your customers. The curries- we had both red with chicken and Panang with shrimp- while thin, were delicious, and the shrimp were nice and big. The rice bowls were generous too. Pad Se Ew was suuuuper salty, but the char flavor was great. The crunch of an eggshell was very off-putting. Tom Kha with chicken was decently flavored, but without any tell-tale galangal root slices, lemongrass slivers, or kaffir leaves, let alone cilantro, I have to think that this is simply scooped from a jar and watered down. Mushrooms were obviously canned or frozen. Ugh. We might try this place one more time next time we drive through Red Bluff. It would be a shame to let it slide away altogether. The totally empty dining room on a Saturday early evening isn't a good sign though, maybe others have come to the same conclusion. read more

We try to frequent this restaurant when we visit the area. It provides a good menu, good food, and reasonable prices.

The food here wasn't bad. We liked the 'Chicken sa-te' and Thai Salad. We were the only ones there. The dining room looked depressing, the fan by our table was dirty, and the restroom needed a deep cleaning. The server, who was friendly enough, should have been more attentive. He never asked if we needed a refill on our soda, nor did he clear our table before serving our dessert. It wasn't even cleared as we paid for our meal. In retrospect, we would have enjoyed our lunch at the hotel better than eating here. read more

Just don't eat here. The papaya salad was soggy and greatly lacked papaya, the dressing was not traditional and tasted extreme salty. It had clearly been made hours ago. The peanuts were burnt. My noodle dish is overly salted as well. Both my noodle dish and the rice that came with curry were served in only partially filled takeout containers. Hadn't been to Thai House in years and looked forward to another amazing dinner. We ordered the fresh spring rolls that were bland and primarily made of lettuce. The rice paper wrap wouldn't stay together so it made for a messy appetizer and we gave up. The warm peanut sauce however was divine. For dinner we ordered the spicy eggplant and garlic chicken. The eggplant was tough and difficult to cut. The skin needed to be removed and smaller pieces. The sauce was "lick the plate" good but the sauce eggplant texture would prevent me from ordering same again. The garlic chicken lacked any depth of flavor besides garlic. The fried rice was delicious, especially when paired with entree dishes. Will definitely dine again being that my first experience was delicious. read more

Great at Times. Inedible at Others. Portions Small. When it's 'On' it's GREAT. When it's 'Off' Prepare For Poor Quality. This is a hard review to write. There have been times we've come here and been FLOORED at how good the food is. We've been here other times, like our most recent visit, and been so disgusted with the food that we had a hard time finishing it. Mind you, this inconsistency is spread over two dishes: Drunken Noodles and Thai Chow Mein. The service here is, in a word, unfriendly. It's not that the owner/waitress/greeter is mean, she just isn't friendly. Yes, she owns the place from all appearances and is here all the time; but she waits tables and even handles preparing silverware sets. It's all overwhelming, I'm sure, and it comes across in the service. The Drunken Noodles on our last visit were nearly impossible to eat. The flavor of 'burned' something was disgusting. If we hadn't had the same dish and been blown away by how good it was before, I'd be writing a two star review. This day, though, it was terrible. The Thai Chow Mein is great almost all the time, this visit being no exception. We order it with the wide rice noodles instead of the regular noodles, which contain egg. The flavor is consistent and great. To sum it up...sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not. Probably still the best Thai choice in Red Bluff, though. We will still be coming back! read more

I'll start with the food was good. I had chicken pad Thai and my hubs had the pineapple curry. Their mild has a little more kick than we expected, but the flavors were good. Then there was the restaurant itself... Be warned there is no AC. That is a problem in this climate. There was a box fan that they pointed at us. We were the only people eating the whole time we were there. Our waiter was getting chewed out by his boss(?) at the counter while we ate. Awkward and uncomfortable for him and us. While traveling through Red Bluff, we decided to try the Thai House based on reviews. We ordered chicken sa-te, duck curry and yellow curry. We asked for the curry dishes to be mild. While we were waiting, my husband overheard the chef ask the waiter how to make the curry mild. Before our food came out, the waiter brought us some plates. My husband's plate was dirty and he asked for another one. Then when our curry came out it looked like the spoons were dirty too. The chicken sa-te was chewy and seemed slightly underdone. Our curry came out very watery and extremely spicy. After a few bites, I had to ask for some ext,ra coconut milk to help dilute the spicy flavor. Ultimately, I couldn't finish mine and my husband didn't feel good after eating his. He also found several bones in his duck curry. read more

That included three appetizers (we love a mean, deep fried gyoza), two orders of THE BEST wonton soup (that would have served 4), chicken thai fried rice and chicken yellow curry. Stopped for lunch in Red Bluff on drive between Portland n SF. Drove down Main St looking for a restaurant. Thai House is its own little building. Could do with cleaning inside but I think they're short of staff. Take out only today as they had just the one worker - hardworking young man working both the kitchen and the register. We were happily surprised by how tasty the Pad See Ew chicken and Spicy Basil chicken we ordered were. We live in the Bay Area which has a lot of Thai restaurants and this little place's Pad see ew can hold its own. The Spicy Basil chicken wasn't spicy though we'd asked for Medium level but was tasty nonetheless. This is a tiny place on Main Street - lots of parking in front and in back. We thought no one was there as it looks empty from the front but go inside - well worth it. Very good Thai food! We were pleasantly surprised with the authentic taste of the green papaya salad ($9.50) and spicy eggplant $11 dish. I asked for it without bell pepper as it changes the flavor of the dish. We also had a mango sticky rice dessert ($6.20). If you don't want it too spicy, ask for a lesser spicyness and they can bring you a four tray of different pepper flavors to add at your leisure. I'm a wimp - needed it mild so did that and added my own later. Service was fast and easy. There were a couple of tables already there when we went at 6.
