The service was also incredibly friendly and attentive, which made our evening even more enjoyable. The only thing I found a little frustrating was how difficult it was to find the place. There wasn't a visible sign, so we had a hard time figuring out where the entrance was. I really hope this place does well because it has so much potential. With a little more visibility and a few small improvements, I think it could become a wonderful spot. I'm definitely rooting for them and would love to come back!

We ordered take out around 11:30pm at night. The food is good. Portion size to go was good. Other than the spice levels being high it's a good late night spot option. I would be open to give them a try again. Maybe this was an accident I wasn't sure. I was a little nervous to try this spot after the review but the food was decent. If you can't handle spicy/spice levels please make sure.

Pricing was normal $16-18 for simple dishes. It was our first try today 4/25/26 and this is our new go to Thai place. Plenty of free parking too. The red curry was delish! I found the pad thai too sweet (it is almost always here in the US.) Less corn syrup please..... Overall good, can't wait to try more.

Had take-out both times, coz as other reviews have pointed out, it's a very tiny place with only a few tables. But the food is fantastic. Kin-D's Tom Yum might be the best we've ever had (craved it today; the main reason why we went back). It has such wonderful, balanced flavor! Also, we always try Pad See Ew as a kind of gauge for new places, and it was excellent here. The service was incredibly friendly both times, another reason we'll certainly be coming back regularly. Altogether the kind of place that just feels good. Already can't wait till next time!

When we arrived it was apparent the "chef@ was also the hostess. As a result we waited quite a while to be greeted and seated. I should note that the chef did arrive about thirty minutes later. I ordered the Waan Om Khom Kluean yellow chicken curry and my guest had the deeb Sao Thai Pad Thai with shrimp. I also ordered a Thai ice tea and the server forgot to bring it. I had to remind her after my meal was almost finished. To me the chicken curry had a terrible unappetizing presentation. It looked like shredded chicken and big lumps of potatoes. In fast that's what it was. While the taste was pretty good, the over abundance of potatoes felt like a filler for less chicken. It was a decent dish but far from one of my favorites. The Pad Thai looked a lot better. My guest said it was good, not great, and that he'd order it again. Now to the price. Nearly $70 including the two dishes, one Thai ice tea and rice. This was not fine dining. I realize they have bills to pay but it was much more than I've paid at other Thai restaurants for similar meals. All parking is on the street. One need a bit of courage to park on PCH as passing cars make it scary to open the driver's door. Cars were flying by in the 40's and 50's and it's a very unsafe parking location.

Our larb salad was painfully salty to the point where it couldn't be enjoyed on its own and the kang kio wan curry was somehow watery and bland. Both the pork and beef were overcooked and tough. When you dine in they bring metal cups with an icy cold carafe of cold water to your table. Customer service is efficient. The person behind the counter is very soft spoken and gives you a slight smile but gets your order correct every time. Hands down so don't argue with me they have the absolute BEST orange chicken. It has a slight crunch on the outside while tender and juicy in the inside. The orange sauce is perfection. It has a great balance of salty and sweet without being overly sweet like an orange candy. It's not tart and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. They put the right amount of sauce so it is not drenched. Pair it with the garlic rice and the salad that crops and fresh no dressing is even needed. Order this and you will be happy. The regular white rice is good too! The Zapp chicken is crunchy, juicy and spicy. I normally cannot eat spicy but this one is perfect. Since my 24 year old son told me about this restaurant I've been here four times in the past month. Simply delicious!!!

In addition, Taishi Hainan Chicken also opened another location in Long Beach. [Parking]: The parking lot is fairly small and is shared with Chicken Maison, but there is usually a spot available to park. [Ordering]: There's a kiosk to place an order at the cashier counter and I didn't pay any additional fee. However if customers order online via Chowbus, then there is a $1 online ordering fee. I received my order in less than 10 minutes as I was the sole customer. [Atmosphere]: Casual dine-in atmosphere and nothing to write home about. [Menu]: For their signature Thai-style Hainan Chicken, customers can order original, fried, or mixed chicken. There is no longer a Yelp check-in offer for free Herbal Chicken Soup, but it remains another popular order. *** Mixed Hainan Chicken Rice ($15.72): This order came with two sauces - one dark & spicy soy sauce (good for fried white chicken) and one sweet & sour sauce (good for original white meat). I personally prefer the fried over the original. Decent portion and enough to feed 1 adult. Herbal Chicken Soup (with spicy dipping sauce - $9.65): This is a really nice soup to drink when you have a cold. The broth had 5 herbs - Codonopsis, Rhizoma, Goji Berry, Dioscorea, and Astragalus. The chicken soup also had mushrooms and the broth was very savory. *** Overall still a solid 4 stars for the Hainan chicken rice and herbal chicken soup. This is one of those places I wouldn't mind stopping by again if I am looking to switch things up with what I want to eat for the day.
