I've been going to Thai House for years, since it was in a run down shopping center on 72nd and Sheridan. I'd have to say that Thai House has to have the tastiest green curry I've had- EVER. I have meant to try other things, as I have heard their pad thai is good as well, but I just can't make myself order anything other than the green curry. If you go during lunch, they have a $5.95 lunch special... soup (which is amazing), an eggroll (meh) and a full size serving of an entree. You can't beat that with a stick! On a side note- the service is interesting. Sometimes really good, sometimes kinda hateful. But really I am willing to overlook that for all the other awesomeness here. read more

I haven't really had a great Thai food place since my college days in Boulder at CU. There has been a gap that needed filling for years. I can finally say that Thai House is that gap filler. My favorite Thai dish is Pad Thai. The staple dish for Thai restaurants here in the U.S. Every other place that I have gone too just did not live up to my expectations until now (besides Thai Avenue in Boulder, but haven't been there in years and heard it was under new management). I really love spicy food, so the first time I ordered the pad thai spicy, they had to double check that I wanted their Thai spicy or a regular spicy. I of course wanted the Thai spicy and it was kickin'! I really haven't had that kind of spicy in a long time and it was on point. Also, I judge the dish on how watery it is, and this is just the right moisture that they make it at. Recently we started getting their chicken skewers for appetizers and they are superb! Comes with a peanut sauce that is really tasty! To complete my meal I also get Thai tea and their beverage is made very well as well. Very pleased every time I eat here! Loved loved loved all the rice noodle dishes that this place had! The food was great, some of the dishes were huge portions!!! The rice noodle bowl that I ordered was three meals for me! But it was just as good as leftovers the next day! The service is why I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars, they were a bit slow and just moved slow in general, but it looked like a family run restaurant with only family working there. Overall, it's pretty good. Go for the curries (massaman is unreal), stay away from the pad thai, and try and catch the mango and sticky rice in season. I love Thai food, and have been eating it for decades. When I moved to Colorado from Northern California, I was worried that there wouldn't be good Asian cuisine in general, and Thai in particular. Years later, I moved to a home in Westminster. No way there's going to be good Thai food in the 'burbs, right? Wrong. This place is wonderful - I've never had a bad dish. Worst service ever. Called almost an hour before closing. Ordered three items. They repeated the order back but when I picked it up they only had two of three items. No apologies. They also said the kitchen was closed even though it was still before 8:30 when they close. We actually had to stop at another restaurant to get enough food for dinner. This place is excellent!!! Everybody that works here is real Thai. I spent some time in Thailand and I am definitely a huge fan. I actually saw a Thai Buddhist Monk in a robe there one day. I have had a lot of dishes in there and they have been very Thai succulent. If you are a Pad Thai fan then they have a unique family recipe to die for. The Drunken noodles with chicken are amazing. I have had numerous other garlic chicken veggie dishes that were amazing too. I'm not a big curry fan so I can not comment on that but I'm sure it's good. And I had great spring rolls there the last time. This place is definitely worth checking out! I have eaten at most Thai restaurants in Denver and I think this is the best. The sweat is still oozing from my forehead and dripping down the back of my neck...yet, I spoon another portion of our hot green chicken curry over my mound of sticky rice. Take a nice small tug from my Kirin Ichiban and allow the malty beer the chance to extinguish the sweltering passion, which is erupting in my mouth. I add more of our hot Pad Kraphao to the pile of rice, along with another spoonful of the Triple Delight (Chicken, shrimp and beef). I prepare for another flavor explosion in my mouth, like one of those Candy Crush explosion when you combine the wrapper with a striped candy...it explodes once...but you wait...for just a second...and BAM! There it is; that second explosion. Yes. The food is fresh, extremely fresh, especially the spring rolls, served with peanut sauce on the side. Every bite just feels healthy. Let's just say I'm trying to pace my Thai tea consumption just right...first of all, they deliver, which is awesome. I tried it for the first time today thank to the Yelp app pointing out the obvious (it's 3.5 miles away from me) and they were quite busy! The phone rang 20 times or so and when they answered they warned me the wait could be 60 minutes, which then changed to 80 minutes by the end of the order, with a final "is that OK?" just to be sure I knew what I was getting into. I knew it'd be worth the wait. The Thai tea was not straight from a bottle and had the right amount of bitter woodiness to contrast with the sweet and creamy elements, without being cloyingly sweet. It was layered nicely without getting all mixed up in delivery. I'm no connoisseur of Thai food but I like to pretend that I am able to form an initial good first impression based on the Thai tea alone and woodiness is always goodiness in my experience. I asked for my Panang curry to be "as hot as you make it" and they didn't disappoint. It's hotter than hell, right off the bat in your face with deep flavor and heat and with a lingering but not exhaustingly long finish; the pure heat aspect really only overtakes the other flavors towards the end of each bite. Let's just say I didn't give my son a kiss goodnight as he wandered off with mom to start bedtime. There are clear red warnings of the heat to come tinged through the sauce, and the sauce had a thick rib-stickin' quality that isn't typical in the curries I've had elsewhere. I enjoy the qualities of both thick and runnier curries really, but it was an interesting change that didn't fit my typical and limited view of "Thai curry." I ordered spring rolls, which were similar to the fresh rolls served in Vietnamese restaurants, with the requisite peanut sauce. Good but quite messy; towards the end I realized it was because they were stuffed with veggies rather than having any rice noodles to speak of. This was a good thing in my estimation. All in all, hot-as-hell flavorful curry at a reasonable price and brought to my door is a five star proposition. They provided a ton of rice which is decent, not that high-end aromatic fluffy stuff but more like what you'd get in a standard fare Chinese restaurant. On closer inspection I may have just burned out my Jasmine detecting sensors as it does smell aromatic when I hold a handful up to my nose :) The curry sauce makes any rice delicious and the mark of a good Thai curry to me beyond anything else is that it makes me want to eat all of the rice, and keep adding more curry to the remaining rice until my "leftovers for later" dwindle to nothing. Even as my mouth burns with pain, new bites cut through the heat with blasts of flavor. Good stuff! read more

I heard about this from my friend for their Thai Teas. I agree the decor is pretty shabby but I thought the food was quite good. I got a stirfry peanut sauce dish thing that I really liked. I love their thai teas for sure. The woman who served us was a little...full of herself (for lack of a better phrase) and ignored me and focused on my boyfriend for most of the time. While the exterior and interior of this establishment will not thrill you, the food absolutely will! We had a green curry, red curry, red curry with pumpkin and drunken noodles. Red and green curries, as well as the drunken noodles were on point! Fantastic flavor and exactly what I expected. I've never tried a red curry with pumpkin before. It impressed me with the addition of sweet pumpkin bits. It created a new taste dynamic, especially when ordered medium hot. In fact, we ordered all dishes medium hot on recommendation of my friend. He cautioned that this is not a typical Thai restaurant. If you order Thai hot, you will get exactly that. And for all who have been to Thailand, Thai hot is NOT for the feint of heart. Since we have not been preparing our stomachs for such a spicy adventure, we used caution and stuck with medium, which was perfect. A great combination of flavors from all ingredients without any overpowering tastes. I also appreciated that their water cups were about the size of pint glasses. Loved that, especially on a hot summer day. The portions were a good size and the price was reasonable. We paid $40 for all the food mentioned, before tip. Hands down best Thai food in Denver! Aree the owner/cook is extremely talented with capturing the amazing flavors she presents in each dish. I've never had a bland meal here. I can't say the same for Thai Basil, Tuk Tuk or Swing Thai all who claims to have the best Thai in Denver. The Thai house is nothing fancy it's just a little place tucked away in a strip mall. They always seem to be busy and have a number of regulars whirling in and out. I suggest trying to come in during the week for their lunch special if you can. I had the tofu pad Thai and it was good. They served an egg roll but it was so greasy. I really wish they would've let the roll sit on an adsorbent the soak up the grease. The egg drop soup was okay. I would return again if I get the feeling of wanting Thai food. The service was great and the staff was very polite. read more

This has become one of our favorites in the north part of town. It meets all my criteria of being locally owned and operated as well as having great food that is reasonably priced. This restaurant does a lot of carry out but it also has a nice dining area for a strip mall setting. There are banks of booths that line both sides and tables are in the center. It is very inviting and not too big. All the food is prepared fresh. In fact, so fresh that the food comes out immediately after it is prepared so if you are dining with friends, the meals will come out at different times but all within a few minutes of each other. There are many dishes to select from including vegetarian plates. You usually have a selection of shrimp, chicken, beef or pork to each dish. Watch out for the sauces though. I order mild and it is about my maximum amount of spice I can handle. They also serve wine and beer here at reasonable prices and a nice pot of Jasmine tea if you enjoy something comforting at the end of the day. read more

I'm writing this review with a mouthful of leftover Green Curry from last night's visit to Thai House. It is so good that I can't stop eating it. And the portions are so generous that I happily still have plenty left. Its probably not the most authentic Thai, but man is it tasty. Sweet, spicy, floral - with lots of basil and tender chicken. Great Thai food and great service. I've been in here twice and will definitely be a repeat customer. The first time I went by myself and had the pad thai (medium spicy) and a thai iced tea. The pad thai came in a large portion, with just enough spice to it, and my thai iced tea was delicious. Even though I was alone, they were still very attentive and provided me with good service. The second time I showed up with my grandmother-in-law and wife for Mother's Day, and again was greeted with great service. They even gave us tiny dessert bowls on the house. I ordered the panang curry and a thai iced tea (seriously, you have to get one-- they are addictive), and once again enjoyed it. I've traveled around Thailand and consider the food here to be comparable to some of the places I ate at over there. read more

Went there yesterday with my husband just for this place. We live down in Denver but we really love this place so we dont mind to drove all the way up here. Their pad thai is way sooooo good. My husband got the comebo pad thai with medium spice and mine was chicken pad thai with extra hot. We just cant stop eating it. And be careful if you order extra hot its REALLY hot but it cant stop me from eating the whole dish. I also ordered the Lad-Na to go. I really love it too. First and foremost I have been a long time, loyal customer here. I previously raved about this place to my friends and family but never will again. I went in for lunch yesterday and ordered the pad tai w/ an extra side of cilantro. When it was brought to the table I first found a hair in my entree and proceeded to find a second hair in my cilantro. I don't get grossed out easily so I picked them out and kept eating. However our server never paid a visit to the table until we were done eating so I couldn't tell her. I then found another hair in my entree (#3) and then a FOURTH hair as I was taking another glance. I told our server and showed her the last hair I found and she went to tell her manager. She came back out and said her manager needed proof and made me pick the hair up off the ground so I did. Her manager then came out and dropped my check off and said, "I took your meal off the ticket but please never step foot in my restaurant again!" I was in SHOCK! I asked why and she proceeded to explain to me that I was a liar and she made other dishes and mine was the only with hair in it so she never wants me to come back. Mind you I did not ask for a refund or even for my meal to be taken off and I was extremely respectful and casual when telling the server about the hair. I was going to pay and tip 20% and still come back again for another meal in the future. I worked in the service industry for 6 years and NEVER complain but four hairs in my food was a bit ridiculous. After I explained how frustrated In management I was and how this was so unfair she then yelled at me and expressed again that I was never welcomed back because how could I apparently lie about such a thing (as if it is unheard of to find hair in your food). Needless to say I will never be back and I will warn my family and friends to do the same. read more

The restaurant was busy with only one waitress but she was pretty on the ball. One star comes off for something quite unfortunate: the terrible Subway smell that comes from next door. After waiting at another restaurant in the same strip mall for 20 minutes with no service we left and came over to this place. Could not have been happier that we did! Started off with the summer rolls which were amazing with being stuffed full with veggies and herbs and not just the rice noodles. My sister had the duck with pineapple curry which was a little too sweet for me but my sister loved it. I had the green curry with tofu and loved it. We came on a Saturday around 2, so it was an off-time for them. The service was really slow, but again, we came at an odd time. We ordered the Som Tom (green papaya salad) as an appetizer. It came out without the sticky rice, but we tried it anyway. It had so much fish sauce I felt like I was licking the inside of a fish tank. When I brought this to the attention of the server. They apologized & took it off our bill. My daughter got the low mein, my husband got the drunken noodles. I got the vermicelli salad with egg rolls. I'm surprised they got such good reviews. Thought we would give it a try since it's in our neighborhood. I said mild for both the duck and pineapple curry and pad see ew. Pad see ew was mild but tasted very fake sweet. Like they used some kind of store bought artificial sweetener. Didn't taste authentic at all. My husband's duck curry was the opposite of mild. It was extremely spicy. I read through the reviews and noted that they make their dishes spicier than most restaurants so I took note of that and it was still too much. Shrimp was cold Nothing was taken care of from a service standpoint, just "comped drinks". Pretty sure one of the employees there is not even old enough to work there. Never going back here again.
