This is our favorite Thai restaurant in Tehachapi. The staff are so friendly and sweet, and the food has been consistently good. They have lunch specials that include soup and two potstickers, along with a lunch entree and rice for under $10. Amazing food! Super clean restaurant with amazingly kind waitresses. I went in here to try something local and new and even asked the waitress to just make me something good and she did~It was very yummy and filling. Definately the best Thai food in Tehachapi. Ive tried the combo fried rice, pad thai, pot stickers and egg rolls. All were excellent. The food here is as good as any Thai I have had anywhere. I remembered Thai Hachapi from the last time I visited Tehachapi. The last time we were there the dining room wasn't open for dine in so we took our lunch over to Railroad Park. This time was different. We stopped in for a late lunch on a beautiful fall afternoon and the place was packed. Fortunately, no one else was waiting for a table so the wait was short. My brother, having not much familiarity with Thai food asked for recommendations. We decided to split the shrimp pad Thai and the panang curry. Both were delicious and enough food to bring home leftovers. My son ordered the Thai basil pork which was good, a bit on the spicy side, but definitely good. The staff was very friendly and the food came out fast. Living in Los Angeles there are a lot of great Thai restaurants and Thai Hachapi is on equal footing with some of the better Thai restaurants in L.A. read more

Really tasty, big portions, good price, and "spicy" means "spicy!" We had the green curry and yellow curry with tofu along with a Thai iced tea. Both dishes were fresh and filling. The service was friendly and the restaurant seemed to be popular with a diverse group of people. We were a party of 14, mixed adults and kids. I was the only one who did NOT enjoy my meal. I had the Mongolian Beef, and it mostly tasted like salt. Everyone else was happy. We had some fresh spring rolls for the table, and they were very good. First time having a non-fried spring roll for me, so I can't make any comparison, but it was good. We also had fried banana for dessert, and it was VERY good. REALLY good. Service was good, and the place seemed clean, including the rest room. I'm not sure what the hype is about this place. Maybe all the other Thai places I've had weren't authentic and this is what Thai food is supposed to taste like? God I hope not. I threw it away and heated up some leftovers. One of my dogs liked it, the other shared my opinion. Prices were ok. $30 for 2 on takeout. Couldn't judge the service on takeout but the lady acted like I was interrupting her texting time when I came in to pick up my food. So why 2 stars when the food smelled like sewage and the service was, well sewage...? Well the food was accurate and hot. I got exactly what I ordered. That's it. We were spending the night in Tehachapi and I looked for restaurants with high YELP reviews and this one came up. Most other restaurants their were more typical for the area like barbecue and steak houses but I was up for something different. I love Thai food and didn't expect to find a good place there but was pleasantly surprised. I got the Shrimp Pad Thai that many people liked and I agree that it was one of the best I've had. I was so hungry for vegetables at the end of an eating out vacation that I had her add vegetables to it and they were cooked just right as well. I'll definitely return the next time we go through the area and try some other dishes as well. read more

I found this restaurant on yelp on my drive back home from Bakersfield, it had 4 1/2 stars so I decided to get off the freeway and give it a try. Immediately, I noticed how clean the place is which is always a good sign and the food was done in a timely manner but Thai is my favorite cuisine so it's a tad bit hard to impress me. I ordered standard dished like, Chk fried rice, Pad Thai and Yellow Chk curry, and the first thing I noticed was how small the serving sizes were compared to other Thai restaurants, they used these reusable plastic containers which were nice but small. The food was good but the fried rice taste a lot like white rice with peas and carrots but other than that pretty good. I gave a 3 mainly for portion size and I spent over 32$ so I expected to be impressed. Worth a try, to each it's own! read more

This restaurant unexpectedly made our road trip lunch amazing! We came in a bit after the normal lunch hour so the place was pretty barren. We were seated immediately and our order was taken soon after. We ordered the potstickers, green curry (mild), and pad thai. The food came quickly and it was all delicious! Potstickers were extra cripy and served with a thick potsticker sauce. The pad Thai was perfectly seasoned and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the green curry was my husband's favorite since it was creamy, tangy, and had just the slightest hint of a kick. We will absolutely be returning next time we drive past this way. read more
