The food is great, fresh & very tasty. The service is in my experience by the owner and she is delightfully helpful and helps with understanding how the meals are prepared. The place is very clean and open, with plenty of room between tables.

my family and I enjoyed dinner here the other night and it was a very pleasant experience.I loved everything The portions of the Ramen and udon noodles are plenty with a large bowl and I tried to beef yakisoba and it has such a wonderful flavor and the texture of the noodles stirfry. I highly recommend this place. I did not try any of the sushi this time but everything on their menu just looks wonderful. The service was perfect. and I love the decor inside the restaurant. It really makes the experience of eating Japanese food fun and exciting especially for the kids.

I haven't been to this place in awhile (4 years) but I stopped on my way back from Arizona, and they are as good as they ever were. The food is AMAZING! The service and ambiance are equally as impressive. This might be my favorite sushi place of all time!

Still lovin this place. Finally met James after 5 years. Nice guy. Tried something new today. Ma Sun roll was great. We also went for the sushi/sashimi combo. Came in a boat! Lots of fresh sashimi. Thank you!

Go here as soon as you can! The sushi is amazing, the owners are just wonderful and it's really a little gem on Tehachapi! Stopped here from out of town as we love to try new sushi places, and this hit every single expectation I have in sushi. Not fishy in anyway, super creamy fresh fish, the ultimate best combinations of sauces on rolls, and sashimi is thick cut! Each rolls is the most wonderful new creation of the Chefs and blew my mind each time I tried a new one! We will 1000% be back and make the drive for Midori's sushi! Also just a note on how awesome the owners are we drove around an hour and the wife made sure to give us a bag of us for our To-go to keep the sushi fresh! Places like this just don't exist anymore, Thank you for going the extra mile for our family!!

We have decided this is now our go to sushi spot. You will notice it doesn't smell like fish when you walk in, (which it shouldn't), plus it's very clean & updated, unlike another popular place in town. If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place to go. I recommend ordering everything you want at once, otherwise you will be there for a long time. The owners & employees are very nice & the fish is great & seems very fresh, plus we don't like seaweed, so they always make our rolls on soy paper. I forgot to take more photos, but here's one.

Meh. Inside is a little run down. Service is just ok. Food was just ok. All in all I don't think I would return. Our server was nice but had no idea about the.menu. food was made wrong and the atmosphere just was not very welcoming.

I've been to this restaurant a couple times now. It seems family owned and run. The decor is nice, and typical of a Japanese restaurant, in fact it would be difficult to distinguish the interior from any other Japanese restaurant. The prices are to be expected. I only experienced delicious, high quality fish at Midori. The menu is full and varied. And the staff is friendly, though sometimes harried by the lunch or dinner rush. I can recommend the: miso soup, yellowtail, salmon, red snapper, mackerel, large scallop, quail egg, as well as the shio broth ramen. I will warn customers on the Japanese fried chicken, as I found it very bland; but it does come with a spicy house sauce. It was really the only thing I found less than stellar! If you've gotten this far in my review, you might be interested to know that I've worked in a sushi restaurant before and it is very different than working in a traditional (hot) kitchen. This restaurant runs a tight ship dedicated to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to subsequent visits. (Sorry I didn't add more photos :(

This To-Go platter was beautiful & each piece of Sashmi took us on a wonderful adventure! The caviar selections were absolutely exquisite, and the special Fairy tuna was absolutely a tantalizing experience! The best personalized service and fantastic sushi that melts in your mouth!

A special from the amazing chef!

Best California roll in town for me. The yakisoba and teriyaki bowls are awesome. Weird hours but worth it.

Is this a Japanese owned restaurant? Though from the reviews, I can pretty much guess that it is not. Sounds more like Korean or Chinese.

Korean..they own several businesses in town and the reviews that are bad are really bad.. Best…

Somehow, one of the very best is hiding right here in little old Tehachapi. The chicken tikka masala is so good I'd consider putting it in a thermos and taking it on my next flight. The biryani? Let's just say if loving it is wrong, I don't want to be naan-right. Everything we've tried has been packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and served with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you're eating at a friend's house--if your friend happened to be an incredible chef. Prime Bar & Grill may have "bar" in the name, but don't let that fool you. This place is quietly serving Indian food that could go toe-to-toe with restaurants in much bigger cities and come home wearing the championship belt. If you're driving through Tehachapi and skip this place, that's a curry-ous decision. Five stars. I'd give it six if they'd let me lick the tikka masala bowl in public.

My wife and I wanted a lighter lunch so we split the butter chicken and the spinach naan. All was excellent. My wife mentioned that the women's room was nice, I would say the men's room could use some work.

Whether it's the rich, creamy curries, the incredible soups, perfectly balanced Pad Thai, or just about anything else on the menu, I've yet to have a meal that disappointed. Every dish tastes like someone actually cares about what's coming out of the kitchen--which, unfortunately, isn't something you can say about every restaurant these days. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, the ingredients are fresh, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. It's the kind of place where you tell yourself you'll try something new... and then end up ordering your favorite because it's just that good. Thai Hachapi is proof that you don't have to drive to Los Angeles to find outstanding Thai food. Sometimes the best meals are hiding in plain sight. If you're in Tehachapi and craving Thai, don't overthink it. Just go. Your taste buds will be doing the wai while you're still asking for a to-go box.

The restaurant was overwhelmed by a very large party and the service of other parties severely suffered. There was barely any checking in with other tables as the larger party was served by all the staff. I couldn't even get a refill on water the entire time of my very long stay due to patiently waiting for my order to come out. The Mongolian beef was underwhelming and I won't return to this place on my next visit to Tehachapi.

After doing a quick Yelp search i found Red House BBQ. From the being to end the whole experience was great, we were greeted promptly and sat down just as fast. We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day with great weather. The patio and outside seating is huge, the inside is a bit smaller but still has plenty of seating and it's nice I love the decor. I went with the Tri Tip sandwich and added hot-links which was a great choice I also got a side of fries. The Tri Tip was well seasoned it had the crack peppercorn taste that I personally love. Served on a soft Brioche bun I believe. They give you 3 bbq sauces on the side to choose from Sweet and mild , mild and spicy all three were delicious. My wife and daughter went with the pulled pork sandwich which I tried an it was delicious, especially the little pieces of Bark. My wife had a side of Mac and cheese and my daughter a side salad. They said the Mac and cheese was delicious and so was the side salad it was fresh. They do have a small bar nothing big and offer beer, wine and some mixed drinks. Overall it was great experience and I say even better BBQ than most of the spots I've tried in Bakersfield. It's a shame it's about 45 mins away but I'll be definitely making the trip back soon to try something else on the menu.

So two days in a row I was here after not being here for ten years. 11/29/25

We get there, and asked if we have a reservation...uh oh....it was Valentines Weekend, but they did find a table for us. Then we get a waiter who I believe was the busboy to help out and we are told right off the bat that the tempura cauliflower AND the cordon bleu were sold out. Well, damn... this is not a good start. I took a look at the menu and I saw a portobello mushroom appetizer that sounded interesting so, we started with that. We then got some garlic bread to munch on while waiting for the appetizer and it was really good. The portobello mushroom sliced, fried, and served with marinara sauce. I have found mushroom appetizers usually very underwhelming and I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary here, but this appetizer was delicious. The mushroom was prepared perfectly and paired so damn good with the marinara. I forgot all about the sold out cauliflower! Since the cordon bleu was off the menu, I saw my good ol' standby, eggplant parmesan on the menu. At $25, I thought it was a bit pricey considering it didn't come with pasta, but I thought, what the hell. I'll give it a go. My wife ordered the Beef bourguignon with rice. They bring our plates to the table, and my jaw literally dropped at the size of the portions. HUGE. The eggplant parmesan looked more like a lasagna and it was topped with cheese and marinara. Cutting to the chase, it was delicious, impossible to finish, and the eggplant was tender and breaded just right. That portion of eggplant became 3 more meals for me, and I can eat a lot. Worth every penny of that $25. The beef bourguignon was also delicious and the portion was very large as well. We wished we got it with the pasta instead of the rice, though. The leftovers her meal also provided a couple more meals, and the flavor holds up to reheating. I am going to be coming back to this place to sample more of the menu, because if what we had on our first visit is any indication, I will be getting a great meal no matter what is ordered. The service is a little slow, but everyone was very pleasant and seemed truly happy their food was enjoyed.
