This place is really good every time we go. Staff is polite. We probably eat this once every few weeks. I recommend the black pepper beef.

The food is delicious. #50 on the menu is definitely something everyone should try. I am not going to remove a star for this, but take my advice and go there with less than 6 people, because they force the tip on your bill. Other than that, I recommend this place to everyone. read more

I have been looking for a take out Thai place around Hammond. A few years ago, I tried this place and it was amazing. It was spicy but still had a great flavor. A few nights ago, I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, to go. The person who took my order seemed irritated that I was there. Her attitude was bordering on being rude. When I got home a few minutes later, it still had steam coming from the container. Yes!! My new take out Thai place!! BUT IT WAS HORRIBLE. The great flavor and spice were absent. This food is without spice, seasoning or unique flavor. Basically you saved me opening a can of LaChoy chop suey but at a multiple of expense. Also you lose more points for serving my spouse and then finishing my meal prep and serving me. This place is great. It's perfect for a simple date or family outing. The food is always on point. I always get the #50 blackened pepper beef. It's marinated in just the right amount of seasoning and has never disappointment me. I also really like their Thai cold brew coffee it's simply amazing. Really nice people and relaxing atmosphere inside with live music. However, I order mine to go... I ordered the Mee-Gah Thi and the Thai noodle soup. The Mee-gah thi seemed like it would be very delicious considering the ingredients but it was pretty bland and I could not finish it... I ordered 2 dishes so I could see what this place was about. The Thai noodle soup was pretty good... Although... They left the tails on the shrimp so you had to remove the tails to eat the shrimp... Not too cool with blazing hot soup. I also had a Thai tea to go which was not as good as other Thai places... Again, didn't finish and stopped and threw it away. Super bummed because I wanted a great Thai place in Hammond... We ordered takeout and due to a big party we were told it would be 30 minutes. We couldn't figure out how to get into the restaurant due to construction, we even called and no one picked up. By the time we found out how to get to the restaurant it was 1 minute after and the person refused to open the door so we can get our order. Service has gone down over the past few years. The food is great but you'd be best to go eat in the restaurant. If you are trying to get your order to-go, good luck! Your food may or may it be ready when you get there. So, I've become a pretty new lover of Thai food. I love the great amount of flavor that they use for just about any dish. The spicy, I also love. Thai Green Leaf is a great and convenience place for me to cure my craving for Thai food in Hammond. It isn't the best place ever, I admit, but it is definitely satisfactory for Thai food here. I've been here multiple times, and I'm sure I'll be there again. One of my fave things there is their complimentary cucumber salad. I'm in love with it, and I really wanna learn how they make it. This place is hands down the best Thai place in Hammond. The food is fantastic and I've never tried anything here that I didn't like. In fact, the biggest challenge I face when eating here is the decision between going with an old favorite, or trying something new. My personal favorites are the beef with black pepper, and the Panang curry. The service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quiet and intimate, so it's a really good place to bring a date. I'd highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Very good food. Friendly waitess but they need more staff. Service took a long time and we sat without anything to drink for a long while. They were not particularly busy but there was one large table. I would definitely go back. I had wide noodles and chicken (what Ive always called drunken noodles) and my better half had red curry. Both were quite good. If there is a criticism on the food- I would say I'd like a little more heat. They did not ask how jot we wanted anything which was kindof a suprise. Very very good. This was my second time here. Everything we had was excellent. Started off with chicken satay and chicken dumplings. Both really great. My wife had the ginger chicken. Very well prepared with fresh ginger and peppers. I had the green curry. The coconut milk along with the fresh peppers and eggplant. Great. Service was quick and accurate. I have eaten at literally hundreds of Thai restaurants around the country, and Green Leaf is absolutely ONE OF THE BEST. The ingredients are super-fresh and the flavors are packed with intensity. Service great, atmosphere nice if somewhat ordinary, but the food out of that kitchen...WOW WOW. Here's what I can recommend whole-heartedly: There was a HOT GINGER TEA on the specials menu that wasn't on the regular menu that is served with real pieces of ginger in it. Don't know if they serve it all the time, but it is one of the tastiest most-addictive ginger teas that we've ever had. Ask for it. Appetizers: 5 - PO PIA SOD - summer rolls in rice paper. Vegetarian, clean, not greasy and full of flavor. 10 - KHANON JEEP - Vegetable Dumplings. We got them steamed instead of pan-fried and they are killer! Comes with a crazy-good basil-garlic dipping sauce. Curry: L-15 GAENG PANANG (Beef) Absolutely one of the best Panang curries I have eaten anywhere. The complex flavors in the thick curry sauce is so intoxicating, it left me woozy. Highly recommended. Vegetables: L-8 PAD RUOM MITT - Stir-fried vegetables in chili and basil paste. L-9 MA KHUE PUANG - Stir-fried eggplant and tofu in chili sauce w/ lime leaves Note: this place is absolute heaven for anyone who is a vegetarian. Noodles: L-3 PAD CEE YU (Chicken) - Our friend who wasn't even a Thai food fan ordered this simple dish and was so blown away that he now considers himself a convert. Plans to return to experiment with other dishes. There is a bit of a gourmet flair to the Thai food at Green Leaf, but the prices (especially for lunch) are not high. This is the ONLY place to get Thai food in Hammond. Luckily it's delicious. I've ordered many different dishes here and they have all been wonderful. My favorites are the pineapple coconut fried rice and the chicken/coconut soup. My husband loves the beef and broccoli dish. They serve complimentary cucumber salad that is very refreshing. They also have "Thai iced tea" which I believe is a jasmine flavored black tea, I very much recommend drinking it with your meal. At the end of your meal you can also order bubble tea! read more

I will say that this place deserves 5 stars and I'll explain why. As you walk in you notice the place is nice, quiet and it's not a lot of people in there. Which is great for a couple of reason. The young man that was are waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful as to even letting us try a few things first. We ordered a couple different things to try out. The complentary cucumber salad was good. The fried spring rolls was great. The green curry with chicken was phenomenal! The Casio chicken entrée was very good as well. Food was very good minus the mini spring rolls. I could have done w/o them they tasted like something you would get out of the freezer section of your grocery store. We had the Tom Yum soup which was very good. The steamed dumplings were good but better without the dipping sauce. Basil chicken was very good. So were the other main dishes we had.
