Yummy Thai food! I have eaten here several times and Christmas Eve luch was take-out from Thai Green Leaf. The green curry with chicken and drunken noodles were so good. The food here is probably a little better than Thai Taste in Covington, though the location is not as nice. The service is excellent. read more

I chose this place due to its good reviews. While the food tasted good, it wasn't what i expected or wanted. When I think Thai, I think of a vegan friendly menu. Granted you could ask for most dishes to come without meat. You just don't have a big selection. The servings aren't that big like I read in other reviews. The "fresh" spring rolls aren't fresh like I've gotten in most Thai restaurants. They are deep fried (that's not fresh). Again, the food tasted good. Another thing, the waitress was clipping her fingernails at the register (right where the food comes out). That's disgusting but I guess she doesn't have time to do it at home. Totally enjoyed a Saturday lunch here. While I don't recall the names of the items we ate, I greatly appreciated the waiter helping me design my lunch and still call it a lunch special. FRESH ingredients Great Flavor, Large portions, just enough variety on the menu to keep it interesting. Best Steamed Chicken Dumplings ever... love the dipping sauce. You can't go wrong. Now that I've finally tried Thai food, I'm kicking myself for not trying Thai Green Leaf sooner. Those cucumbers are to die for, and our scallion pancake appetizer was delicious. I had the gai pat prik king & my daughter had chicken pad cee yu. Absolutely wonderful. Food was fresh, and I can't get enough of the white sticky rice! Our waitress was super friendly, & even though she spoke with a thick accent we had no problem understanding her. I can't wait for our next visit to try something new! read more

Since my original review I have been back here a few times. I don't know what was going on during my first visit, but I have had a far better experience in all of my visits since then. My wife and I have enjoyed everything we've ordered here, from the phad see ew, to the coconut pineapple fried rice, to the phad Thai, to all the vegetarian options my wife has tried! They also have great summer rolls that come with a very tasty peanut sauce! All the dishes I have ordered here have been reasonably priced and very large. I am glad that this Thai restaurant is just a couple blocks from my house. read more

Nice Thai restaurant in Hammond. The server who started waiting on us was just "ok". She went through the motions with little or no enthusiasm. The chicken satay not the best I've ever had, it was "ok". The pad thai was decent. The green curry chicken was very good. Superb, well-balanced, piping hot, perfectly seasoned dishes with just the right amount of heat from a variety of chilies and a good touch of smoke from the wok. Everything very fresh -- buttery eggplant, crisp veggies, delicate Thai basil and just a kiss of fresh mint. Large portions (I had chicken green curry and my husband had a seafood stir fry combo brimming with shrimp and tender hunks of squid). What a delightful find in such an unassuming location. The Green Curry chicken was great. It wasn't that spicy. The fried bananas were topped with syrup instead of honey. Thai Tea wasn't that sweet and the tapioca was really rubbery. Overall I'll comeback for the Curry. Hubby had Chicken and Beef Curry. read more

Ate here for the first time last night. Place was nice and quite, perfect for a relaxing dinner. The complementary cucumber salad was yummy. We also had the spring rolls, coconut noddles and basil chicken. Good portion sizes and the food was hot and tasty. Will be going back soon. read more

The food here is phenomenal!!! The Tom Kha Gai is so delicious, I have (no lie) been known to guzzle down at least half of it! I have never tasted a dish that I was disappointed in, but my favorite dishes include house specialties such as their mango shrimp, garlic shrimp, and almost every noodle dish is awesome! There is a decent selection of cocktails and beer, and the atmosphere is serene, rarely crowded, and the service is good, because most of the waitstaff is very knowledgeable about the food, and the patron can request something special not on the menu, and depending on the mood of the chef, it could b remarkable! I would suggest dining in instead of getting to go, because this type of food is always better super fresh; however, I get this to go as well with no problem. This was the first and last time I will ever visit The Green Leaf. Going in at 1:00 PM on a Sunday, I expect a little wait but waiting over a hour and only getting a water and a spring roll is just outrageous. I ended getting my ticket and leaving. This was my first visit ever to Thai Green Leaf. My boyfriend and I were looking for a restaurant to go to for a quick, early dinner. We passed by & noticed that the parking lot was empty, so we stopped in! The waitress/hostess was extremely polite and welcoming when we walked in. This was both of our first times ever trying Thai food (which we soon realized that we're not fans). We had trouble figuring out what we wanted, but when we finally ordered it was fairly painless (or so we thought). My boyfriend ordered a curry dish and asked for it without onions. The waitress seemed to have understood his request, but when his dish was brought out it was as if a whole onion had been chopped up and added in. When we received the bill we realized that our total was a lot more than anticipated and also noticed that instead of writing down no onion on the ticket, she had requested to add extra onion. So there was definitely an English barrier. My 3 star review is mainly due to the language barrier and the fact that the restaurant was a little bit pricey (when I don't believe it shouldn't have been). It was mostly a pleasant experience, but we probably won't be back. read more

If you are looking for Thai food, avoid this place. As a matter of fact, if you're looking for good food, avoid this place. Below are a few reasons why: 1. The waitress/host was unfriendly and unwelcoming. It was as if we disturbed her from doing nothing as the restaurant was empty. 2. The mango shrimp was sweet and sour shrimp. Disappointing. 3. The stir fry eggplant looked like a plate of beef. It was overcooked and loaded with oil. My husband drained 1+ tablespoons of oil from his plate. 4. An Asian lady, who I'll assume was an employee, entered the restaurant in a t-shirt and shorts. She went behind the counter, spoke briefly with the other waitress, donned an apron, and WITHOUT washing her hands, proceeded to prepare a glass of water with ice for a customer. 5. This restaurant is a Chinese restaurant in disguise and not a good one. If I could, I would maybe rate this place as a half star. read more

Authentic from the first sip of chai to the last bite of grain of rice. When you first enter, you'll be greeted by some porcelain elephants and the friendly server. Check out their specials on the wall because it will tickle your tastebuds. The mango chicken is savory and sweet. The seafood soup has great flavors and is full of shrimp, squid, muscles and clams. One thing you must drink is the chai tea, refrain from getting the tapioca pearls bc for the amount you pay for the addition, you can go without, so you can enjoy other appetizers. We also has the bite sized calamari appetizer-crispy and cooked just right. You can't go wrong with the soups or any curry dishes, but be careful when you order a fish fish...our tuna was over cooked...to the point of being charred and bitter. That was the only major disappointment we had in regards to the entrees. We have eaten here three times and we're fortunate to have a great Thai place in Hammond! read more

1st time here was great, I was excited to find a Thai place in Hammond. 2nd time, they were busy and I waited 40 minutes for food. I couldn't understand why they only had 2 people working. I decided to give them another chance and I'm done I think. Hire more people. We only have an hour for lunch and it would be nice to be able to ask questions of your staff before we order. Today I poisoned myself with a bite of wheat noodles because the menu didn't specify that they weren't rice noodles and there was barely an opportunity to ask any questions from the girl running around by herself taking care of 12 tables. The Green Leaf has the best Thai food on the Northshore. The service is great, the food tastes excellent and the prices are reasonable.

I'm glad we have a Thai restaurant in Hammond, but as a huge fan of Thai food and veitnemese, I'm a little disappointed in the spring rolls. I'm not accustomed to having fried spring rolls. The sauce was a bit heavy and oily on my vegetable dish. I typically prefer " cleaner " meal options without heavy oils or sauces which is why I often opt for Thai and veitnemese. Overall, the flavor was good, staff was friendly and it seemed clean. My only disappointment was fried spring rolls and heavy sauce. read more

My husband and I went here with our 1 year old son for a quick dinner. We ordered the Tom Khar, spring rolls, Pad Thai, and a children's chicken and broccoli. The soup was okay, not the best we have had, but adequate enough to keep eating. The spring rolls were fried well but the filling was only cabbage and a little bit of carrot with absolutely no taste. Then our son's meal came out and this is where it really went south. His chicken was essentially a plate of the boiled chicken meat they put in the soup covered in a brown sauce. The broccoli was coated in sauce as well and very hard. My son refused to eat any of it. Pad Thai is my favorite dish. When our dish came out, the noodles barely had any sauce on it. The sauce did not even look like a sauce, more of a brown broth. We tried to grin and bare it, but then I ate a shrimp and well it tasted like fish. Not fishy shrimp that have been frozen, but literally as if it was sitting on top of raw fish. We sent the 2 main dishes back and paid for the appetizers. I would not try this place at all even if you are craving Thai like we were. read more

My husband and I love this place! We like Thai cuisine and have been to many of Thai restaurants all over the country, but this one is still remains our favorite! The service is quick, friendly and helpful. Because we have been their customers for many years and visited so many times that we pretty much tried everything on their menu. No matter what we get they never disappoint. The food is always very tasty and fresh. Portions are very generous and reasonably priced. Also we really like their complementary cucumber salad. We do not live in Louisiana anymore so unfortunately, we cannot visit this place as often as we used to, but we make sure to stop by every time we are in the area. read more
