    Cashew nut with chicken

Made my first visit here today for lunch. Do not allow the outside appearance scare you off. It was clean inside, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The soup with the small portions of spring rolls had a very good flavor. The cashew nut with chicken was really good. Good prices especially the lunch deal. Recommended.

Food is legit! Pineapple duck curry and vegetable pad Thai both Thai hot. Some of the best Thai food we have ever had.

The owners are so sweet! We really enjoyed speaking with them as well as our delicious food! So much flavor. So much spice. Absolutely amazing. We loved the papaya salad, pork satay, chili paste shrimp (the shrimp was perfectly cooked) and spicy basil noodles with beef. I will be back!

This tiny Thai Restaurant is so cozy and inviting! It's a nice quiet place for an amazing authentic meal. It appears to be family owned and operated, and all of the staff is so friendly and attentive. My favorite dish is the Chicken Pad Thai, of course. The medium spice level I chose was perfect for my liking. The dish was loaded with plenty of chicken and was so full of flavor that I could taste every ingredient. I can't wait to go back!

We revisited Duang Tawan. Same lovely, shack of a restaurant, lol. But still has the best, by far, Thai food we have had in Baton Rouge. I had the same basil beef with rice. Chock full of onions, bell pepper, bamboo strips, beef, hot pepper, and a savory and semissweet sauce. Served over jasmine rice. They know how to cook their vegetables. Not until they are totally limp, but still having a tiny bit of crunch. The basil flavor is what I come for. So many Thai places cook with basil, but Duang Tawan knows how to infuse their dish with it. Staying on our top Thai list!!! Will be back.

I got the Panang and Tom Yum from here that's was pretty good, even my boyfriend he is Laos said that this place got the better Thai food he ever tried in BR. This is the mom-and-pop store, good environment, cozy and y'all know that when it is the family restaurant it always hit good!! The service is amazing, she is really caring she makes me feel like my mom. Plus if you are want it spicer they can do it too, for me that makes the food taste more like the original one, but don't do it if you can't handle good in spicy. Btw i know the pictures suck lol.

Came here for lunch after I yelped some thai food in Baton Rouge. I saw tod mun on their online menu and I haven't had that in years so I convinced my friend to try it. It was alright. I got the drunken noodle, medium spicy, with fried tofu and a side of spring rolls. My friend got the pad see ew beef, mild. It was not mild, as they were sniffling through the whole meal. And mine was not medium; I'd say it was more in line with "spicy." Not that I dislike spicy food, but I order medium for a reason; I like a little kick without feeling it in my stomach, and I did end up feeling this. I have an ulcer so excessively spicy dishes are a no-go. Aside from this, the noodles had good flavor and I ended up finishing them later that night (I know... I'm a masochist apparently). The noodles were not the typical drunken noodle shape; they were a little thinner, not that this affected the flavor. Loved that they added plenty of fresh veggies. The tofu... eh. It didn't have a taste and I realized this was because it didn't get any of the sauce. It was breaded and fried and seemingly cooked separately, and then added to the top of the dish. I ended up treating it like an app and dipping it in my egg roll sauce. The spring rolls were tasty, but I'd have preferred the tod mun which was apparently no longer on the menu. There is no indoor dining, but they will pack your food to go and you can eat on a pretty little patio surrounded by greenery.

For appetizers, we had the cachapas with pork which were delicious. Recommended app for sure! My wife had an Indian curry with cabbage, purple rice, chick peas and spinach-wow!!!!!! Probably the creamiest tasting curry ever! You could add a protein but wifey went with the vegetarian option and it was great! It wasn't perfect bc there were some chick peas that weren't cooked all the way and were crunchy I went with the mussels in a pesto cream sauce with potatoes and it was sooooo delicious!!! Again not perfect as some mussels had that sandy/gritty taste which I didn't like it most of the them were fine. The ambience here is great! The owner really has thought out every detail to make sure you have an amazing experience. From the decor, music, staff-you can tell there was a a lot of thought, care and love put into it. Our server was very attentive and made great recommendations. When you read the reviews below, most people know what this restaurant is and how it works. My…read moreresponse is less harsh about the service or it's overpriced charcuterie board concept. I have lived in BR for 6 years now. Many departments at LSU take guests there and in that time, Building 5 has done nothing to improve its parking lot. The restaurant sits underneath an overpass and the parking is pothole marked unpaved gravel. This means that there is no room for wheelchairs or accommodations for anyone who is differently-abled to get into the restaurant. The whole restaurant makes no room for handicapped persons. On the occasion I did get food, the food is slightly overpriced. All meats were cooked adequately but the food was lukewarm probably owing to sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp than being delivered promptly. When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. Because I go here because of academic reasons, I would barely go here myself. I've been here many times and found it wanting. It's an ableist place in its infrastructure. It's fine I'm atmosphere as a cocktail bar but would little recommend it to people I call friend.
