The only complaint I had was that the pork was a little dry, but overall flavor was good. The bun bo hue was yummy but spicy! I know that it is typically a spicy dish, but my friend wished there was more lime given to help cool it down if needed. Overall we had a nice experience. Walked in and was greeted immediately. The inside is fairly small; it only had about 12 tables. I ordered Bun Bo Hue size large which was $15. It took only 10 minutes for my food to come out. It looked very good but was kind of disappointing. The spice level was like a 2. I didn't see chili oil but they had chili sauce, so I added a lot of that. The broth also lacked flavor, I had to add fish sauce. I was also disappointed to see that they did not have tendon or gio heo. As the name would suggest, it is a cozy little place tucked into a strip-mall at the corner of Sherwood and Florida. The interior is very spare, done in a black and white motif, with artistic black and white pictures of Vietnamese scenes. A very nice space to dine in. The service is always as classy as the interior. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The menu offers all the Vietnamese dishes that Americans have come to love. Big bowls of Pho and other soups, vermicelli bowls with great toppings, rice dishes, and stir fries. There are a variety of drinks, and appetizers to round out your meal. Do you have someone timid in your party? The fried rice is always a great choice, because who doesn't like a great fried rice! Little Saigon is in a great location now, as there are a number of other businesses that have opened near it that you could also enjoy during your visit to the area. One could have dessert at the Baskin Robins next door, or pick up a bubble tea at the new place on the other side. The new Asian Market offers supermarket shopping right across the parking lot. I was just getting over a stomach virus, so I was treading the waters safely as this was my first full meal in three days. Well the pho broth was better here than the last couple places we've gone but it was still a little weak. The portion size was good and my husband's combination bowl definitely had a fair amount of meat in it. The service was very good and one thing I really did like is that we weren't hounded while we were trying to eat. We were checked on in the beginning and after we got our food and then we were just left to eat until it was obvious that we weren't eating anymore; at which time they came back. For me, that day I was looking for something that could fulfill my craving: wonton soup. So I settled for their Combination Wonton Soup. Tender balls of meat, wrapped in thin, delicate wonton wrappers. Mmmmm....the soup was very tasty and the wontons were plentiful and scrumptious. The bowl of soup also had a few large pieces of shrimps and slices of Asian style BBQ pork to round out the bowl. The added diced green scallion brought out a delicious aroma! My cousin took me here to get her favorite, the Spring Rolls with NO pork, just shrimp. I didn't know what to expect honestly, but I knew she wouldn't let me eat just ANYTHING. When we walked in, we got our orders to go, the server he was playing the guitar, teaching himself, but when we were ready to order, he had an attitude as if WE were bothering HIM. We paid him no never mind and he took our order of course. The Spring Rolls came out fresh and were packed with big pieces of fresh shrimp. I wasn't expecting them to be cold, but I liked the taste. The crunch of the lettuce mixed with the spice and sweet of dipping the roll in the peanut sauce and the siracha was so good. These rolls were so good, I ate them the next day. I saw people ordering the noodle bowls as well, I'll get that when i make a visit to Baton Rouge again. This is a great Vietnamese restaurant in the same lot as the Asian Supermarket. I've eaten at Saigon Noodle which is across the road next to Hong Kong market. The Bun Bo Hue at Little Saigon is on point with what I get on the West Coast with the exception that they don't provide sliced banana shoots and mint that you would normally get with Bun Bo Hue. Where Saigon Noodle chintzes out on their meat, Little Saigon gives you the perfect ratio of meat to noodles. If you want authentic Vietnamese that doesn't cater to Baton Rouge taste and is true to cuisine, give Little Saigon a chance. Please don't order Faux Chinese dishes. If you're going to eat Vietnamese, eat Vietnamese. Be adventurous and ask the server for help.
