What a lovely little spot! I had gotten takeout from here after work and ordered the American food. It was standard fare done well. I went back to order Thai takeout and it was so cute we decided to dine in. Everyone was very pleasant and the service was wonderful. It's not a fancy place but they acted like it was. At most takeout joints people just use the tables to wait for an order. This place has a nice little ambience to it. I had been hesitant about Thai food after a bad experience years ago, but this more than made up for it. I've been back a few times now and every experience has been good. Decent place! Used to be a lot better, but lately they've fallen off a little bit. I suspected they got a few new cooks in the kitchen, so I asked one day when I was ordering lunch. They confirmed; there are new cooks. That must be why things have shifted. Pros: The food is always very fresh. This is *real* food. Everything is made from scratch, and you'll never find a veggie in your meal that was previously frozen. The portion sizes are just right, and the prices aren't horrible. I'm gluten free and I find it pretty easy to eat here. Almost everything is made with either rice, or rice noodles. Cons: They aren't as consistent as they used to be. We order the Hot Basil with chicken pretty often, and sometimes it's good, sometimes not so much. Also, their Thai Fried Rice is almost always mushy/soggy. Another big issue for me is that they're closed on Sunday. We're busy on weekends and I usually don't want to cook! Bangkok Room just recently opened in Ansonia, and while its a little farther away for me, the food there is beyond AMAZING. If I'm in the mood for really great Thai food, I'd go to Bangkok room, but if I'm feeling lazy and just want to pick up some quick take-out, I'd go with Thai Dish. Just a side note: Another reviewer mentioned that it was a little weird that they sell burgers too, and that put me off at first as well. I didn't think that you'd ever be able to find good Thai food in Seymour, and I especially thought it was strange that they would serve burgers too. However, this location was a burger joint before the Thai restaurant opened, so I assume that they decided to keep the burger grills as opposed to ripping them out, or maybe they just want to cater to the locals that would prefer burgers over Thai. FYI, I've tried the Thai Spring Roll, Fresh Spring Roll, Yum Nuea Beef Salad, Hot Basil Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Massaman Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice, Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Pho and Chicken Noodle Soup (which is basically just Chicken Pho). Everything was amazing. The Pad Thai had almost no chicken in it, but maybe thats normal for that particular dish. I've also heard that their Mai Thai (steamed dumplings) are fantastic. I've also tried the Thai Iced Tea, which was good! Although, next time I will remember to tell them "no sugar" since it was too sweet for me. read more

I usually go to New Haven for Thai so when I heard the valley had their own little Thai joint I was thrilled. Now I must admit, I was a little worried it wasn't going to be as good as good as my usual Thai spot for two reasons,one I thought it was odd they sell burgers and secondly Seymour certainly isn't known to have any good restaurants! Well, let me tell you! This place is as authentic as any Thai place you can find from New Haven to Hartford! It's extremely clean, extremely friendly and extremely Authentic! Since I live in Shelton I'm thrilled to not have to go into "gun wavin' New Haven' for my Thai fix! My gf had coconut soup and Spicy wide noodles, I had green curry with chicken. Hooray for legit Thai food in the Valley! I used to drive 30 minutes round trip to Woodbridge to get my Thai fix, but those days are gone. The Beef Pho was yummy, with bright, vibrant flavors and just the right amount of heat. Sweet & Sour Pork hit the spot, as did the Mai Thai and Fresh Spring Roll apps. The restaurant is tiny, but all the seats were filled when I arrived to pick up my order. In a town dominated by your standard pizza or Chinese joints, this place is already a standout! read more

I was a fan of Valley Burger Shack but once I found out a Thai place was coming in, I had to try it. Coming from Oxford, there are not a ton of decent Thai options in the area. This place, however, was extremely flavorful, with large portions and very reasonably priced (average dinner is about 10 bucks with lunches around 7) It doesn't look too fancy on either the outside or the inside, but they more than make up for that with their food. I love Thai food ever since I got the chance to go to Thailand years ago. I also just moved from NY and the Thai places are really nice there. So I was hoping to find some good places in CT too. Unfortunately, it wasn't. This food I ordered from this place was not even seasoned enough. Like I saw all the good reviews and I'm just confused. My basil fried rice didn't even have BASIL in it! The chefs need to do more research on how to season Thai dishes to make it as authentic as possible. Like seriously. :( read more

Ordered takeout here and did not have to wait long. The crab Rangoon's are so fresh and best I've ever had.. I try these everywhere I go so this is a big deal for me to admit!!! I tried the pad se yew noodles which were good but not best I've had, maybe lacking that sweet brown sauce and basil flavor I usually like in this dish. The rice was decent but not as flavorful as I like. It is interesting they serve burger too which I did not try. I will go back here just for the crab Rangoon's and would like to try more of the menu. Clean interior and friendly staff. Can't go wrong with the Thai ice bubble tea! read more

The Thai food here is delicious. I have tried the red and yellow curry, the drunken noodles, pad thai, and ginger chicken and enjoyed them all. My son especially likes the pad se ew. The best appetizer is the crab rangoon. My takeout orders have always taken 20 minutes or less to prepare. The staff is very friendly. read more

If the other reviews haven't proven that this is a real hidden gem, I doubt mine will. But for those wise enough to read some, they're consistent in the solid flavors and massive portions that keep us coming back over and over for me. Even things we'd never touch at a Thai restaurant like pho was good, and getting a good pho review from me is fairly difficult. It may not be authentic, but it's really good. Really really good. I haven't left a review for this place previously because every time I go there I try something new, fortunately the menu is rather massive.
