Horrible horrible horrible the second time we have been there. All the people saying it's authentic don't know squat about Thai food. The first time we were there my wife's dish had spoiled meat.the second time we had the chicken sates which served on toast and the peanut sauce was just chunky peanut butter and had a side of diced cucumbers in vinegar. I had the "spicy noodle" dish and it had more romain lettuce than noodles.the green papaya salad hahah came with fried chicken wings. very unauthentic do not recommend this place. Kinda confused on how many people are raving about it. read more

Simply amazing! We normally eat Thai food on the east side of town however when we found out about this place, which is conveniently right up the street, we decided to give it a try. The food was incredible, presentation was beautiful. If you like Thai food you absolutely must give this place a try. read more

My new favorite Thai place in Albuquerque. Went in not really hungry and got the papaya salad which was top notch. I also tried the green curry which was absolutely amazing. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend to visit. read more

One star for food being on time but no flavor or spiciness. we had two entrees and two sides $40+ and everything had no flavor and was almost cold. cant blame it on being busy because there was no one there. We'll stick with THAI CUISINE. read more

My favorite Thai place (Thai spice) is a 20 minute drive. So imagine how happy I was when Thai Boran opened and is only about 4 minutes from my house! Unfortunately that's where the excitement ended. My favorite Thai food is the Tom kha soup and it was nothing compared to Thai Spice. The Thai money bags were really really good though, As well as the Thai iced coffee. The portions seem smaller and more expensive than other Thai restaurants around Albuquerque. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting and I bet it has an amazing view at night time of the city lights. I do plan to go back and try the tom yum soup as well as the pad thai, and all update my review then. read more

I think I might be addicted to their curries. I have tried them all and can't really decide which one is my favorite. I also tried other dishes and the only session of the menu that does not get me drool is the 'Chef's Specials'. Friend who spent some time in Thailand think this place is likely to be the most authentic Thai in town. Whether or not this is true, it is delicious read more

We went there on Christmas Eve and the service and food was fantastic. When we walked in we were immediately greeted. As soon as we sat down they came to take our drink orders. We ordered ardours and they can right away. Very hot and fresh. The wait staff gave us suggestions and the specials. Once we ordered it did not take long to get out food. The wait staff constantly came around to check on us and refilled our drinks automatically. The food was great as usual. Thank you Thai Boran for a great Christmas Eve. read more

This is the best Thai food I've ever had....NYC, Chicago San Fran got nada on the q snd Boran....spicey Thai hot Panang will make you sweat...in a food way. I highly reccomend. read more

We were craving Thai food for lunch so decided to give this place a go. I had the vegetarian tofu pad thai and it was delicious! Came wrapped in an egg crepe with bean sprouts on the side. Husband had the ginger fish curry with brown rice which he really enjoyed. Service was great. Restaurant has views of the mountains . The portion sizes of the dishes are generous and a good deal. They do offer take out. Will be back. read more

Really tasty spicy noodles, friendly staff, and I have a definite recommendation to eat here before going to Flix for a beer and movie. Really satisfying food. Solid service. read more

We were really excited to try Thai Boran after reading reviews. I ordered the Chicken Noodles and my husband had the spicy noodles with shrimp. We were told that "hot" spicy would "clear out the sinuses and make you sweat." Based on this, I ordered mild and my husband, a lover of spicy food, went with hot. We were both disappointed with our dishes and found both to be quite bland. Both dishes were also served on a bed of wilting lettuce which did them no favors. The service was, however, top notch and the food came out quite fast. I think we will be sticking to other options for Thai from now on. read more

Great food and service;) The environment is fun and the food is just so good. About time Abq has some good Thai foods at a great price

Thai Boran is excellent Thai food on the west side of Albuquerque. Their curries are wonderful and generously full of good meat and veggies. Their other traditional Thai dishes are very well-made and--if you dine in--are beautifully presented. The Thai Cashew Nut Chicken is a favorite of mine: few places in Albuquerque make it this way...the right way. As someone who loves white jasmine rice (which is good here), their brown rice is a revelation! It's a rich purple color, light and fluffy and quite tasty. Eating healthier tastes good! All of their appetizers and salads are delicious: you pretty much can't go wrong. The icing on the cake is that the staff are welcoming, friendly, and super helpful. It's a pleasure to visit, even if it's only to pick up carry-out. I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you like Thai food, or if you're curious about it, you must try Thai Boran. Warning: it may become a habit. read more

Wow. This is some seriously delicious Thai food. We ordered takeout from here because their kids were having a breakdown and couldn't eat in the restaurant. I got the eggplant Curry which was fantastic. I got it with medium spice and it was on the spicier side but not too spicy so as to obscure the flavor. The people taking my order over the phone and the people giving me my food when I got there were super friendly and professional. We will definitely go back here again. read more

What a gastro feast! The food was a fresh plethora of flavors! For starters we had the Thai Money Bag which were cute little egg roll bags with all kinds of yummy goodness inside and it was all edible, "tie string" and all! We also tried their Goong Ka Borg, or egg roll wrapped shrimp, and it did not disappoint! It too was so good! Husband had the Shrimp Over Bean Curd - which has shrimp, ground pork, and mushrooms over nicely deep fried tofu with a tasty gravy sauce. I had the mild Pineapple Chicken Curry and it was soooo good. The spice was perfect and the curry with coconut milk gravy was cooked perfectly! We had to leave room for their sticky rice with mango dessert so we boxed some of our meal. It was a beautiful presentation and delicious. The mango tasted freshly cut. We enjoyed every thing we tried here. Thai Boran definitely exceeded our expectations by a long shot. We will be back! read more

Love that we have a convenient and tasty Thai place on this side of town! Love the Thai fried rice with pork the most!!

We stopped by this place for a late lunch on our way to the tramway. The place is neat and clean and the service is impeccable. Amanda, our server was very gracious and polite and let us customize our order the way we wanted. The food was very delicious (one of the best thai food we have had in some time). We ordered veg spring roll, egg fried roll, chicken satay, yellow curry, green curry amd thai iced tea. Would definitely recommend this place! read more

This is the best thai place ive ever been to. AMAZING CURRY. AMAZING PAD THAI. and the best thai iced tea.

This is a great new authentic Thai place! The pad Thai is so good. It's in an egg crepe, which is different, but delicious. My husband had the spicy chicken noodles. He got medium hot in addition to the spice in the dish, and it was pretty hot, but he loved it. We will definitely be going back! read more

The flavors were excellent. I will be returning. My only problem is that I felt they need to either lower the amount of food and sauce, or increase the amount of rice with the meals. read more

Outstanding restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. The tom kha kai (chicken with coconut milk) soup is amazing; it is served in a "hot pot," so there is enough for at least six large cups of soup. Very subtle flavors. The nam sod is listed as a salad but is entree-sized and fabulous. The "money bags" are little fried bags of deliciousness, not to be missed. The pad Thai in the crepe is very different and justifies all the comments on this site. The cashew nut entree with beef was prepared as we ordered. They honor requests for added spice and also have an amazing chili oil that they will bring you if you ask. We were traveling through Albuquerque from Texas to California and can't wait to return on the way home! ADDENDUM: ate here again on the way home, and it was even better! The ground beef noodles with yellow curry powder are excellent! The "Thai stick" appetizer is unusual and delicious. The staff is outstanding. read more

Our family ordered the chicken satay, Thai toast, pad Thai, and green curry. All were delicious and I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I have eaten here 3 times in 3 weeks, and have loved the food every time. My only concern is the wait time for your food to come out. We were a party of 7 and we got our food 5 or more minutes apart. It's no fun waiting for everybody to get their food to start eating. The wait staff is overwhelmed, but they are very good and very courteous. The owners need to consider investing in more cooks and more staff to streamline things. We saw a lot of to go orders being picked up, which I think adds to the problem. We hope this restaurant succeeds because we need great food on the westside. read more

I have found my new go to Thai place on the Westside! My old go to always has a 1.5 hour wait for take out, so I decided to try Thai Boran, and they did not disappoint. I had their Massaman curry with brown rice and had them make it hot. The hot is definitely hot (and I might have to bring it down a notch). The brown rice is different...kind of a cross between wild rice and brown. Great texture. The curry was a little thinner than I'm used to, but flavorful enough to make up for it. The best part was that I could call my order in on the way home from work, and it was waiting for me when I got there! read more

Been waiting for this place to open! Owner of Street Food Asia in Nob Hill opened this gem on the Westside. Amazing food! It's been well worth the wait.! read more

This place is legit very good Thai food! A little pricey but worth it. I had the beef Panang and my wife Yellow curry with chicken. read more

I think it's a generous 3 star, Thai Boran wasn't great, but I am going to give it another chance. Went for lunch the other day, and was really excited as I love good Thai food. Showed up about 1pm and found the dining room with about half the tables full, the problem, all but 1 of the empty tables had dirty dishes on them. So we sat at the only table open. There was 1 server working and she struggled with multitasking. We waited awhile for menus even though she acknowledged us walking in, and she seems to lack a sense of urgency. Really, even though it's a small location, there should be 2 servers during the lunch rush. All those tables with dishes on them never got cleared during our lunch. So we ordered the Money bags appetizer and the Goong Ka Borg, which is basically deep fried shrimp in a wonton shell. The money bags were almost flavorless and were over-cooked. The shrimp dish was good and something I would order again. I have had great Pad Thai in Albuquerque. So while I feel a Thai restaurant should be judged on their pad Thai I hesitated ordering it because there is one place that always delivers an amazing dish. But I dove in and gave it a try as the server said it was very good. We also ordered the BBQ rib dish based on her glowing recommendation. So the pad Thai comes in a kind of egg crepe. The problem is the egg crepe came out luke warm despite the contents being hot. And I think the portion size for the price was too small. The flavor was just ok, not a great pad Thai in my opinion. The BBQ ribs were on the tough side and didn't fall off the bone as you would expect. The sauce they were coated with was good though. They came with white or brown rice, the brown rice came out but it looked like white rice cooked with beans, kind of odd and not very good, they were gummy. Thai places always tend to be on the spicy side when it comes to the heat level you order. I tend to move between mild and medium as I love a good heat, but too spicy to me ruins the dish so I tend to do my first orders as mild and move up from there. So my mild pad Thai dish had no spice, not even a hint in the dish anywhere to be found, that was disappointing. There were several dishes on the menu that looked good, and I will give this place another try but I was underwhelmed by my first visit and it won't be tops on my list to return to in the near future. read more

Best Thai in Albuquerque! Service was excellent and food came quick and hot! Definitely recommending and going back.

Absolutely amazing. Authentic Thai food. I highly recommend getting the coconut soup, it's to die for. I also got the panam curry which was so delicious. The presentation of the food was very nice and the options they had on the menu was so big, options for everyone. Great selection of sake too, highly recommend the coconut one. read more

We really liked this place and will definitely visit again soon. We came early (just before 5:00 pm) which was perfect. By the time we left, the place was bustling with customers. We had a Beef Noodles plate and a Chicken Fried Rice plate, just to be safe. The flavors of both dishes were excellent. Next time, we will surely branch out and try new things. The Thai spice is outstanding!! I wanted the highest level spice, but was warned about the heat. The next level down was perfect. The menu has nice options. The beer and wine options appeared to be good, but our server didn't offer us a drink and we didn't realize they served alcohol. I also to need mention that the portion size was a bit small for my hungry husband. read more

Thai Boran was the most terrible Thai restaurant that I have ever visited. The rice and meat were absolutely terrible, they did not smell good and they tasted horrible. This was overall an extremely bad experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This place is great!! I have tried multiple dishes here and I haven't regretted anything choices. Great Thai food for sure!

I am in love with this place! It is the kind of place you go to, get a dish you typically get at other Thai spots, get blown away, start exploring other dishes (if that one is so great, I wonder how these other dishes taste!), and get blown away again and again and again! The peps that work there are cool as heck! Which makes the food taste better, too! Please try the Tom Kah Kai or the Curry Fried Rice, both with chicken! read more

Love Thai food and this place is a gem! Pad Thai, Thai iced tea, Thai money bags, and curry dishes are all excellent!!

Really good! We tried the money bags (yum), pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, sweet and sour chicken (not fried) and spicy noodle. Plates were cleared. Good size portion, good food, prices in balance. read more

Thai Boran was the worst Thai food I've ever had in Albuquerque. We visited this place shortly after it opened and I had three dead flys cooked into my dish. I could understand if this was an old restaurant but it was really unacceptable to have dead insects only being open 1 month when we went. read more

My new favorite Thai place in ABQ. The food is delicious. Great view of the city!!! Excellent service. They serve good size portions.

We ordered carry out and the person taking our order was very pleasant. She didn't know how to pronounce done of the dishes but just laughed it off. I picked up our food, stove home and found one fish completely missing. Calling them they seemed very unapologetic and told me it was ready. I you'd then it would take me 20 minutes to get back. She said "whatever." My husband went back and they didn't even offer a coupon for a subsequent visit. The dish was cold. The appetizer was good but I won't go back. read more

I ordered the seafood surprise and got food poisoning with my friend... our stomachs got messed up... lucky for my friend he only had two bites whereas I ate the entire thing... I threw up in the middle of the night whereas he just had a terrible stomachache and ended up in the restroom for quite some time... we went last Tuesday I believed and I couldn't even go to work the next day. I hope you guys aren't serving expired seafood and just hope the spice and flavoring would cover it up... cause the results will still show... I'm probably never coming back here again... read more
